We’ve had the same brand harness but needed replacing due to wear, this one feels and bit more sturdy as regards fasteners and main body more supportive.
    Would only use this brand

Love julius K9 harnesses but these smaller ones have a plastic loop to connect the lead to. It snapped very quickly and our dog was off! Have repaired it by using a metal keyring

Absolutely brilliant been through 5 different cheaper harnesses and 1 more expensive and this 1 by far out preforms all the others. I see why police dogs use them now lol. Greatest buy yet.

We have exclusively purchased julius K9 harnesses for my dog but the last couple we have purchased there has been a noticeable drop in the quality and one had to be returned due to faults.
My dog is small and light so wear should be minimal on harnesses.

Still a good product but not the 5 star I would usually have give

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersWe currently have three dogs, a medium sized 7 year old adult rescue cross, a full grown male German shepherd and now we have bought one for our 7 month old German shepherd x St Bernard. We first bought one when our adult male was a puppy and saw him through a few sizes. Our puppy had smaller cheaper harnesses, mainly due to the fact I knew because of her breed she would rapidly outgrown them. Now that she is getting bigger I thought it was a good time to get the harness on her.
What I like about these is the versatility. There are so many colour options out there and available. The sizes overlap so you don’t have to be in that awkward is it this size or this size position. And the Velcro labels mean you can communicate with others.
We’ve found it hard when you have a cute little puppy that’s training to keep people from squealing and coming towards them. Our puppy we have at the moment was a rescue and came from serious neglect and has needed a lot of training, so while I encourage people to say hello, I need it to be done on her terms so a nice “please ask before you pet” label will be spot on for her. Likewise my adult male uses an “anxious, do not pet” label because that’s what he needs.
I also like the handle on their back. Perfect for reaching down and having that extra hold on them in certain situations. I’ve used it with my medium size dog to pick him up quickly countless times.
The D ring on ours have all been metal – I can imagine if the D ring is plastic and you have a big dog or one that pulls that it won’t last very long!
These are sturdy and well built with quality materials. I’ve seen some knock off versions and they very quickly start to look like the fabric or Velcro is wearing.
I think these are a must, particularly if you have a big dog. Our oldest dog doesn’t use this as what we connect him to when walking, but he wears one so I have the extra handle to grab hold of and the labels asking people to leave him alone. The only thing I’d say with these is I found my older German shepherd became a puller and he liked the “drag” walking with a harness gave him, so when we trained him not to pull we used an alternative method.
If you’re looking for a harness, julius k9 harnesses are the way to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Has been a must for all of our dogs

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis has greatly improved my terriers behaviour when out on her lead. She used to really pull to the point where her front paws barely touched the floor when walking on her lead. She also barked and snapped at other dogs passing and some people. Since I purchased the k9 harness and the front chest strap, her pulling and bad behaviour has really settled down. She cant pull in the way she used to with the front chest strap on. I also think the harness makes her feel more secure. I purchased a double lead also, so I have one end of the lead clipped onto the front chest strap and the other end clipped onto the harness ring located on the dogs back. This combination has transformed how she behaves when out. I am not sure if just the harness alone would work as well without the chest strap as I have only ever used them together so I cant say whether the harness on it’s own would make such a dramatic difference. She has managed to escape the harness and chest strap on one occasion when we were sitting outside a cafe eating. I was holding her lead and she was scratching about under the table and must have somehow wriggled out of it. Fortunately we spotted her before she managed to get anywhere. I’m not sure how she managed it but it clearly is possible so I wouldn’t leave her in the harness unattended, for example outide a shop as I have done in the past before I bought the harness, just with a collar and lead. K9 do clearly state that dogs should never be left unattended in the harness. She also does not mind getting into the harness and once it’s on she doesn’t normally try and get out of it. But as she has managed to escape once I am mindful to always keep an eye on her. All things considered this has been the best purchase I have ever made for my dog. It also looks really smart and is very durable and well made. My terrier gets very dirty often and rolls in all sorts of horrors. I just rinse the k9 off in warm soapy water and hang it up to dry and it’s good as new. We live by the sea so she is always in salt water. This doesn’t seem to have any adverse effects on the harness material or the metal rings attached.
