New replacement harness We’ve had the same brand harness but needed replacing due to wear, this one feels and bit more sturdy as regards fasteners and main body more supportive.
Would only use this brand
Plastic loop for lead broke quickly Love julius K9 harnesses but these smaller ones have a plastic loop to connect the lead to. It snapped very quickly and our dog was off! Have repaired it by using a metal keyring
great haness, best brand great harness, this my secound harness ive bought for my dog, wouldnt buy any thing else, for me i rate these the best out there ,i have a big dog,and this harness gives me full control of him
Very well made Absolutely brilliant been through 5 different cheaper harnesses and 1 more expensive and this 1 by far out preforms all the others. I see why police dogs use them now lol. Greatest buy yet.
Great produc Totally worth the money and investment. Feels a lots comfier/kinder to my dog but at but at the same time feels safer and easier control without causing discomfort. No complaints, just wish I bought one sooner !
Great quailty Only purchased for the 2nd time as new puppy destroyed the original, however this brand lasts wash after wash use after use, the old one was 8 years old & still in such good condition, just as pleased with the re purchase!
Great harness Really like this harness have been using Julius -K9 for years now been waiting for our puppy to grow for her size but decided to go for it even though she’s only 9 months old but she seems much happier on our walks and love the colour of this one
Great harness I bought this to replace a worn out version of the same thing.
It arrived within the specified time frame, is easy to put on and take off and looks really smart.
A harness is much kinder to the dog’s neck and makes them much easier to control if needed.
Excellent Harness I’ve bought these harnesses in the past as theyve always been good with no problems. My puppy doesnt mind wearing it at all. Very secure if you put it on properly
Well designed, sturdy harness, doesn’t restrict dog’s moveme Try a couple of makes that the dog just reversed out of before settling on this one. Study, comfortable, close fit without restricting movement. Well made & really easy to get dog into & out of as single buckle. Can get it one the hound with one hand.
Best small dog harness eve I have two Chihuahua’s I have tried a number of different collars, leads, harnesses. These are head and shouders better than anything I have tried before. Very quick and eary to adjust. Very quick and easy to put on and take off. They look stylish, substantial and comfortable. The dogs are happy with them.
Quality has decreased We have exclusively purchased julius K9 harnesses for my dog but the last couple we have purchased there has been a noticeable drop in the quality and one had to be returned due to faults.
My dog is small and light so wear should be minimal on harnesses.
Still a good product but not the 5 star I would usually have give
Great quality and robus Brought Julius harness for my lab after reading reviews and measuring my Labrador as instructed on the measurements picture and was not disappointed when received the item. The quality is superb and strong, the strap is very wide and the clip is vey tight. The clip is difficult to undo because it has a good spring to it, which, although awkward sometimes it is a sturdy clip which will hold his pull on the harness. The harness’s have a classy look to them and very comfortable for the dog to wear. I was so impressed with the Labrador harness, I purchased one for my Jack Russell as well. The only quibble I have was the Jack Russell harness was almost as expensive as the Labrador’s and as you can see by the photo, there is a lot less harness. I didn’t knock off a star though because it was my choice still to go for a Julius. The Measurements on the picture’s on the site are correct to size. I purchased a 2XL for my Labrador and a Mini-mini for my short Jack Russell.
Simply a fantastic design and absolute premium quality The Julius K9 harness really is a fantastic design and comes in a wide range of sizes. The harness is premium quality, easy to clean and tough , very durable yet remains very comfortable. The design (velcro front band and adjustable tummy strap allows easy adjustment and the side clip make fitting and removing easy. The harness is machine washable and even after hundreds of washes retains colour , integrity and comfort with little sign of stretching or shrinkage. We have bought many of these in different sizes and they are our first choice and the only harness we would recommend to others. Main tip is to make sure you get correct size, your furry friend/s will appreciate the comfort.
Quite pleased, but id say only for experienced dogs. I’ve been trying to keep my dog Blue, in blue collars/harnesses etc but often find plain blue colours soon get grubby/patchy so I decided to try Denim.
And I have to day, it looks very smart! But his solid blue collar does look a bit mismatched and getting Denim alternatives is going to be a chore.
The harness itself is great, after having 3 others of varying styles and fits this is very simple indeed and a nice big/supportive strap that goes under him with a large reassuringly strong clip.
The reflective strip along the front is quite apparent and a nice touch, it does feel a little loose around the neck area ~ all of the work is done with the underside strap, the neck just helps keep it straight/comfortable but I think this design while super easy to put on/convenient I think the harness is more for dogs that are comfortable walking rather than a training harness as I’m all sure alot of breeds & users inexperienced with lead could well find they pull the harness off or the dog backs out of the harness without too much effort, mine certainly can and I’d not want the chest strap on him much tighter than it already is, but being aware of this fact ensure any “pulling” action is up and forward rather than directly pulling forward.
I think it’s going to take awhile to wear in comfortably, after half a dozen walks now it’s still quited rigid but I know others with these harnesses that have definitely softened up over time so no worries there.
I saw a question a while back asking whether it’s actual Denim but to my eye it’s the same mesh material from other harness colours, with a denim style print.
All in all, very happy and the velcro well, everything is a nice and surprisingly secure touch for new labels & addons.
Has been a must for all of our dogs We currently have three dogs, a medium sized 7 year old adult rescue cross, a full grown male German shepherd and now we have bought one for our 7 month old German shepherd x St Bernard. We first bought one when our adult male was a puppy and saw him through a few sizes. Our puppy had smaller cheaper harnesses, mainly due to the fact I knew because of her breed she would rapidly outgrown them. Now that she is getting bigger I thought it was a good time to get the harness on her.
What I like about these is the versatility. There are so many colour options out there and available. The sizes overlap so you don’t have to be in that awkward is it this size or this size position. And the Velcro labels mean you can communicate with others.
We’ve found it hard when you have a cute little puppy that’s training to keep people from squealing and coming towards them. Our puppy we have at the moment was a rescue and came from serious neglect and has needed a lot of training, so while I encourage people to say hello, I need it to be done on her terms so a nice “please ask before you pet” label will be spot on for her. Likewise my adult male uses an “anxious, do not pet” label because that’s what he needs.
I also like the handle on their back. Perfect for reaching down and having that extra hold on them in certain situations. I’ve used it with my medium size dog to pick him up quickly countless times.
The D ring on ours have all been metal – I can imagine if the D ring is plastic and you have a big dog or one that pulls that it won’t last very long!
These are sturdy and well built with quality materials. I’ve seen some knock off versions and they very quickly start to look like the fabric or Velcro is wearing.
I think these are a must, particularly if you have a big dog. Our oldest dog doesn’t use this as what we connect him to when walking, but he wears one so I have the extra handle to grab hold of and the labels asking people to leave him alone. The only thing I’d say with these is I found my older German shepherd became a puller and he liked the “drag” walking with a harness gave him, so when we trained him not to pull we used an alternative method.
If you’re looking for a harness, julius k9 harnesses are the way to go.
Stopped my terriers pulling when used with chest strap (available seperately) This has greatly improved my terriers behaviour when out on her lead. She used to really pull to the point where her front paws barely touched the floor when walking on her lead. She also barked and snapped at other dogs passing and some people. Since I purchased the k9 harness and the front chest strap, her pulling and bad behaviour has really settled down. She cant pull in the way she used to with the front chest strap on. I also think the harness makes her feel more secure. I purchased a double lead also, so I have one end of the lead clipped onto the front chest strap and the other end clipped onto the harness ring located on the dogs back. This combination has transformed how she behaves when out. I am not sure if just the harness alone would work as well without the chest strap as I have only ever used them together so I cant say whether the harness on it’s own would make such a dramatic difference. She has managed to escape the harness and chest strap on one occasion when we were sitting outside a cafe eating. I was holding her lead and she was scratching about under the table and must have somehow wriggled out of it. Fortunately we spotted her before she managed to get anywhere. I’m not sure how she managed it but it clearly is possible so I wouldn’t leave her in the harness unattended, for example outide a shop as I have done in the past before I bought the harness, just with a collar and lead. K9 do clearly state that dogs should never be left unattended in the harness. She also does not mind getting into the harness and once it’s on she doesn’t normally try and get out of it. But as she has managed to escape once I am mindful to always keep an eye on her. All things considered this has been the best purchase I have ever made for my dog. It also looks really smart and is very durable and well made. My terrier gets very dirty often and rolls in all sorts of horrors. I just rinse the k9 off in warm soapy water and hang it up to dry and it’s good as new. We live by the sea so she is always in salt water. This doesn’t seem to have any adverse effects on the harness material or the metal rings attached.
