The mould is accurate, nice fitting to machine.
It simple offers some protection for the camera, and allows me to use simple nato clamp handle on top. As you know the original K3M handle is not friendly to external monitor, so a 3rd party handle is very improtant to the setup. And also it is a acra swiss plate, saves me some trouble.
Over all it great value for money
I use this on my FX30 B camera which I rarely fully rig out, and it’s a great little addition -added security, added mounting points, and incredible neewer build quality. Definitely recommended if you’re on a budget or don’t need to fully rig out your set.
Very satisfied with this Neewer camera cage. It is lightweight and portable, making good use of the FX30’s existing handle on one side while providing loads of versatility to create mounting options for peripherals on the remaining three sides with cold shoe mounting at the top and numerous 1/4-inch holes for added mounting options. It is an excellent starting point for building your rig and great value for its price.

La mezzagabbia arriva in una confezione in cartoncino, quindi completamente riciclabile, contenente tutto quello che ci serve per iniziare a creare il nostro RIG professionale!
In allegato troviamo un manuale illustrativo contenente anche la lingua Italiana, cosa che fa sempre piacere.
La gabbia in alluminio verniciato ed rifinita sotto tutti i punti di vista!
Si attacca alla camera in ben 4 punti di fissaggio, cosa che la rende solidissima e soprattutto sicura, trattandosi di macchine dal valore cospiquo.
Troviamo attaccata sotto la base, come per magia, ma in realt grazie ai magneti, una piccola chiavetta che ci permette di stringere le viti e che sicuramente ci salver la vita quando non troveremo i classici 5 centesimi in tasca. Chi lavora nel mondo delle foto e dei video sa di cosa parlo.
Sulla parte superiore della piastra di base troviamo una parte gommata che andr a proteggere il corpo della macchina ed evitare di graffiarlo, essendo in alluminio.
Stesse gommature che troviamo vicino agli altri punti di contatto. Veramente un grandissimo occhio di riguardo!
Completa il tutto l’adattatore superiore da innestare nella parte alta della camera dove potremo andare ad attaccare una maniglia superiore e iniziare a impugnare la macchina come dei veri videomaker professionisti!
Un piccolo dettaglio che per mi fa piacere farvi notare la bellissima incisione che riporta i modelli di camera supportati che fa veramente capire la qualit raggiunta da questo marchio. Eccellente!

Its sturdy build gives me confidence during shoots. The quick-switch baseplate is a time-saver, easily transitioning from tripod to gimbal. The multiple mounting points are like having an extra set of hands, holding everything from monitors to microphones. The NATO rail makes adding accessories a snap. It’s not just a cage; it’s a command center for my camera, streamlining my filming process and enhancing the quality of my work.
The (half) cage comes well packed and presented and is of the usual Neewer high build quality.
For FX owners this half cage adds much needed versatility when attaching accessories to the camera, particularly for shooting video.
The cage is very light, coming in at just over 100g, and with it’s shorter base plate allows easy access to all buttons, ports, and also the screen.
The baseplate fits directly to an Arca type tripod head, maintaining compatibility with most industry standard mounting systems.
The included external 60mm NATO rail allows the mounting of a wide range of accessories, including additional cold shoes, monitor mounts, magic arms, and more.
There’s also a built in side NATO rail compatible with top handles, side handles and all other NATO type accessories.
All in all, a very lightweight and versatile half cage for increasing the mounting options for the FX camera range.
Necesitaba una jaula para mi nueva FX30, pero no quera una jaula entera (me gusta el diseo de la cmara, y tiene ya suficientes conexiones). S que me interesaba sobre todo el rail NATO superior con la conexin ARRI para colocar un mango que ya tena de SmallRig, y este es 100% compatible. El resto de la media jaula encaja perfecta, y deja el hueco preciso y exacto para todas las conexiones, lo que aade funcionalidad y proteccin sin alterar el agarre de la cmara. Muy recomendable y con un precio razonable.

As always, NEEWER standard, high quality aluminium alloy and only 106g. As far as I know this material has been for rocket science but apparently NEEWER makes it for everybody now, impressive.
It features multi-point secure locking, quick switching, NATO rail fast connection and flexible mounting points. The high quality, great versatility and enhanced stability – highly recommended.

Er bietet einerseits zustzliche Anschlussmglichkeiten, andererseits lsst er den ergonomischen Griff der FX3 / FX30, die Speicherkartenschchte und den Batterieschacht komplett in Ruhe”. Das meine ich, ohne den entsprechenden Voll-Kfig beleidigen zu wollen”. Diese Metallkfige haben auch den Nachteil, dass sie drauen im Winter sehr kalt und im Sommer sehr hei werden. Gut finde ich die Option, die mitgelieferte NATO-Schiene optional anzusetzen.
Er ist massiv und robust und gut verarbeitet und passt gut auf die Kamera. Eine kleine Gummimatte schtzt den Kameraboden vor Kratzern.
Er verfgt ber einen Schlitz, um den Kameragurt anschlieen zu knnen.
Die Aspekte, die man bedenken sollte:
– Der kalte Schuhadapter kann oft nicht mehr genutzt werden, wenn man den Sony XLR Griff aufgesetzt hat: die aufzusteckenden Teile werden womglich mechanisch blockiert.
– Der Kfig scheint die obere Kante der Kamera zu berhren. Ob er Druck ausbt, wei ich nicht genau. Sollte es der Fall sein, knnte es bei hufigem Auf- und Abbau sowie schwunghaftem Umgang mit der Kamera zu Lackabrieb an dieser Stelle kommen.
– Der beigefgte Zettel enthlt nur Hinweise, was man nicht machen darf. Zudem ist er in blasser Kleinstschrift gedruckt. Anstelle dieses — aus meiner Sicht wenig hilfreichen Papiers — htte man lieber eine Gebrauchsanweisung fr Anfnger erstellen sollen.

I recently received my Sony FX3’s half-cameracage, and I’mimpressed. The aluminium alloy designis extremely durable and lightweight at the same time. My camera stays securely in place thanks to the 4-point secure locking system, so there won’t be any shaky video.
Thequickswitch between my gimbal and tripod is perfect. It’s a flexible cage that maintains accessibility thanks to its numerous mounting points. This cage is a need for every filmmaker or content creator because of the thoughtful details, such as the strap slot and screwdriver that are included. I carry it around everywhere with me. Highly recommended.
This fits well and offers decent mounting options for making a very competent video rig, with my arri top handle and side grip it makes for a nice stead rig and there is still plenty of mounts left for my field monitor and a small light, all in all, well made, good value and good quality.
Great well built unobtrusive with many mount points
Sturdy metal built and designed to fit neatly on the FX3 which I tested with. There’s one 1/4-inch screw for the base and a 1/4-inch screw for security on the side. The bottom keeps completely clear of the battery compartment. There’s a rubber pad between the cage and the camera bottom to ensure there’s no abrasion. There’s also a magnetically attached flathead screwdriver-like device to take advantage of the mounting points without the need for bringing an additional tool. Additionally the bottom has mounting points specifically for DJI Ronin 2 and 3 gimbal.
The side has 1/4-inch mounting points and a free 3/8 inch mounting point and several smaller holes. I noticed that the lower points are partially aligned with the edge of the camera so be careful not to use screws that may mar the camera surface. The half cage includes a strap mounting point so you can continue to attach a strap to both sides of the camera if desired. The side mounting points might be used for vertical mounting.
There’s a sparse instruction manual which would have been improved with a mounting diagram. For that, I had to double-check this product page.
The top has a cold shoe off to one side. This is important because there’s a top mount that covers the camera multi-interface hot shoe eliminating the use of Sony’s mic handle. The Neewer piece allows for a not-included handle. The cold shoe might allow for a camera light or an external mic that uses the 3.5mm jack on the camera.
Overall a well-designed half cage that is DJI Ronin gimbal-friendly.
I’m a Sony FX3 owner so was curious to try this half cage and see how it felt to use.
It comes boxed in a little cardboard box like other competitors and well packaged to protect it in transit
When you open it up and get it out it feels strong and solid and almost unbreakable
On the top of the half cage itself you get a cold shoe mount which could come in handy for lights or microphones etc
You also get a useful nato rail for the top of your FX3 that simply attaches by screwing it into the two holes on top of your camera that are already there
The half cage itself comes with a little magnetic screwdriver that slots into the base of it (again like its competitors)
Attach the half cage to your camera using two screws provided – one underneath to the base of your camera and the other is on the side – a two minute job that’s super easy to do
Once attached it feels like you added strength to an already solid camera as well as you now have mounting screw holes for accessories and a cold shor mount
It doesn’t interfere with any camera buttons or operation and adds more versatility to your camera
It also has an arca Swiss baseplate for using on gimbals and tripods which is a nice touch
Also has a strap slot but I don’t use straps so can’t tell you if that’s good or not but good to have the option
Overall a very solid and sturdy product that gives you more options for your camera
