Consigliato!
Is better then I though
The image quality is incredibly good, and the speakers are really nice. We are using it instead of a TV and even with some daylight coming from the window the image still good. The focus is great when is flat and the sound is really nice for such a small and cheap product.
They don’t have smart features, wich isn’t a problem if u have a firesticker and I miss a Horizontal compensation of the projected image.
You can notice that they really invested in the image and speakers instead of the smart features, wich in our case really paid off.
I think one of the best prices/quality that we could get.
PS: 1 month of daily use
Very pleasantly surprised.
I bought this on a whim, as it was on offer, and really wasn’t expecting much from such a small projector, but am pleased that I did. I have a larger projector and, whilst this isn’t quite as bright, it works very well. In a semi darkened environment it provides a more than adequate picture, with good picture quality and sufficlent brightness. I used it to produce a 60″ picture on a cheap fold up screen in my bedroom and was very happy with the result. I imagine it would be very good for camplng and travel. All in all a very impressive bit of kit for such a small projector.
Missing item
I have to say I have just received a Elephas projector, “Nice!” Such a great product.
However, I am pretty disappointed, for what I paid that it didn’t come with a tristand/mini tripod as advertised in the video.
(See image for details.)
Nifty, convenient & well designed
I’m super happy with this purchase. Originally I was looking for a permanent fixture, a projector that I could mount to the wall, however as I didn’t want to change the aesthetic of my living room, I decided to go with something that gave me more versatility and flexibility.
I wasn’t sure how great the quality would be of this projector as it’s so small and portable however it works really well for me! Love that it’s rechargeable too, so it doesn’t always need to be plugged into the mains!
The only little thing that I would say is that the sound level doesn’t go too high. This is fine for me as I’m planning on buying a portable speaker anyway for my flat, so I’d probably just use it with that if I find I need to. I live on a busy city centre main road, and can still hear movies and show fine using just the projector.
Would definitely recommend!
Cinema on the Go!
Very impressed with this piece of kit – a great addition for my travels. The small size means you can take it anywhere, so no more lugging the weight of a laptop and charger around. Although, like all video output devices, it works best in a dark room, the 500 ANSI Lumens output of the DLP-1 (upgraded from 200 ANSI) makes it bright enough to use even in daytime conditions. I’ve used it when camping with a 100″ projector screen, as well as on holiday in hotel rooms, and I have to say that the performance for such a small device is astonishingly good, exceeding all my expectations. Excellent connectivity through Bluetooth, HDMI, Apple Airplay gives you a lot of flexibility in pairing with your devices. Connected instantly and painlessly with my Denon soundbar at home and my Anker portable speaker on my travels with no lag or dropouts. I simply would not travel anywhere now, for any extended period, without taking the DLP-1 along. It’s a cinema in your pocket – highly recommended.
Tiny size, impressive performance!
I have been really impressed with this little projector so far. For the size of it the picture is impressively bright and detailed actually – far better than I expected to be totally honest. Even in a reasonably well lit room the picture is very usable for presentations etc and allows films to be shown in a perfectly watchable way but as with most projectors really does benefit from a darkened room at which point it really does come into its own!
I love the fact that it can be run off a powerbank and also has its own inbuilt rechargeable battery which makes it perfect for carrying around and setting up for impromptu sessions. The automatic keystone adjustment works surprisingly well and it even comes with a carry case, remote control and mini tripod so has everything you need apart from a screen. Most of the places I’ve used it have has a reasonable span of blank white/cream wall space which has been absolutely fine.
Another huge bonus for me is the ability to plug a memory stick into the USB port and play films, photos etc directly from that. The mirroring works well from my phone too (android). I haven’t tried it for streaming from an ios device as I don’t have one but I’m sure it would be equally competent.
The only real downside is the sound which really isn’t great at all but I genuinely didn’t expect it to be so use it alongside a Bluetooth speaker.
For a product which is so small and around 220 when on offer I think it represents excellent value for money – super happy with my purchase!
This Projector has truly exceeded my expectations. The projector has an exceptional resolution, generous screen size, and captivating color ambience. The clarity and sharpness of the images and videos are outstanding. Whether watching movies, playing games, or giving presentations, the high resolution ensures a visually stunning experience. it transforms any space into a home theater. It’s perfect for movie nights providing a theater-like experience at home. The hues are rich and deep, and the colors enhance the mood and atmosphere. Setting up the projector was very easy and fast, and it offers a range of connectivity options like Airplay, HDMI, and Bluetooth which makes it versatile for various devices. The user-friendly interface and remote control make navigation simple. In conclusion, the Projector is a fantastic addition to my home entertainment setup. With its impressive resolution, expansive screen size, and captivating colors, it delivers a top-notch viewing experience. I highly recommend i
I only gave it 4/5 because, understandably, such a small projector will never be very bright or clear. However, I have to say that I am very impressed at what Elephas have achieved with this little box!
First of all (and this was a big surprise) it plays back PowerPoint files from a usb drive – no PC required! It loads Microsoft Office Suite, seemingly on an Android-like operating system. The implementation of the PowerPoint playback is a bit clunky to find your way around. It doesn’t do embedded video clips and sometimes formatting appears wrong. Keep PowerPoint presentations simple and it is fine. Use it with a PC for fully-fledged PowerPoint.
It was fine playing back jpgs and mp4s. However, I could not seem to flick through jpgs in a folder, having to close one and open another. Folders are a nuisance. On inserting a usb stick, the projector creates 7 folders on it. That’s quite unnecessary! It’s also only usb2. pdfs play back using the Office Suite, which is not as user-friendly as on a PC. Software can be updated online as the projector connects to WiFi. It will need to be mains-powered to do this.
The brightness is OK in a dimmed room and the picture quality is not bad. The fan is a bit noisy but not at a disturbing frequency. The focus wheel is a bit too sensitive. The auto-adjustment of trapezoidal effects from a tilted projector works well. The remote control can be fussy if not pointed directly.
The time on battery playback is between 1h30m and 2h. Charging is 2h or more. The power supply uses a usb C slot at up to 12v. I have a small car jump start battery that I would like to connect but will need to solder a special cable.
The presentation of the projector and accessories is very good – all in a sturdy, zip-up case. But the projector is so small that it will easily slip into a laptop case with an hdmi cable for connection.
I would recommend this projector for its portability and flexibility, but it is suitable mainly for smaller, dimmed rooms.
I was a little bit sceptical about all the great claims ab out this projector but I decided to give it a go anyway to see, and after a month of using it I’m delighted to say that it lives up to the manufactures claims.
I have tried several projectors in the past for my work as a graphic artist, I use a projector so I can quickly project an image and trace around the projection saving me so much time, and as far as I’m concerned it beats them all.
It meets all my needs and is the best one I’ve used, It projects a very bright clear sharp picture using my MacBook and iPhone, ether by cable, Bluetooth or WIFI, I can also use an ordinary USB and C type USB if I want, it has a sturdy little tripod which screws in the base and also has very easy to use push buttons to control it on the top, it also comes with a handy remote handset to use remotely.
It came in a very smart strong box and zipped canvas bag to keep everything safely stored together, it also has all the cables and things it needs.
The main reason I bought this projector is I can project smaller images close up on my drawing board to trace over for pen and pencil work, I also paint with oil and acrylic on canvas and I can project a photograph onto a canvas indoors in daylight so I can roughly sketch out a painting before doing the painting, again saving me so much time.
The auto Keystone is a great feature compensating for any angle between the projector and the surface of whatever you’re projecting on to.
And last but not least it’s great for projecting movies for the family…. we take it camping and the kids use it in their bedrooms with their friends.
Overall, I am extremely happy with the Elephas DLP Mini Projector and as far as I’m concerned its good value for money and I recommend this projector to others.
I got this to have an outdoor party for my son and his friends, it was cheaper to buy this and a screen then to hire one. I was honestly only expecting to use this now and again, but we have been so impressed we have been using it every day since November 2020. The quality is outstanding its hard to believe how good the picture quality is for such little money. We started projecting on a vanyko 100″ portable screen that we just put in front of our TV. I recently upgraded to a 120″ electric screen now as its changed how we watch movies and TV. We added a roku Now TV stick which essentially turns the projector into a smart projector for Netflix, Amazon Prime, Disney channel etc. We also connect to our surround sound amp using aux cable for full cinema experience. Highly recommend this.
Cons. The drawbacks with this are, dust gets inside it very easily, you will have to clean it every 2 months, and that is not that simple as it’s difficult to get at the lenses inside. Also the keystone is essentially useless, this projector only works when viewed square on, it is not designed for ceiling mount set up, where you need to angle it down. The keystone works in so far as it will square the image when angled, but the lower section will blur when you are angled down, you can’t correct this with the focus wheel.
Lastly it is not 6800 Lumens, it is bright and the picture is great, but that number is definitely exaggerated, maybe divide it by 2 and you will get somewhere closer.
Overall a great introduction to projectors, but it is a budget projector so don’t expect this to compete overall with the more expensive ones.
Well first off i own the YG600 which i have had for about a year or so now, and i was blown away by it. it is a great little projector. i have watched many movies on it and it performs great, it does “bleed” the image every now and again, but for the most part its a good picture.
Now compared to the Q9 (this product) there is just no comparison. The Q9s image is amazingly good! and it is also alot brighter than the YG600.
you cant see the pixels unlike the YG600 either which is just great, it also supports 2K and i have played some UHD videos on the Q9 and they look awsome!
the fan is also slightly quieter than the YG600 and it does not get as hot as the YG600 either. it also has a removable filter that is easily taken off the projector for cleaning (it just fits on the side of the machine and snaps on) this is a good design as it cleans the incoming air to prevent dust build up.
one thing i will say with this projector is that it will take some fiddling about with both focus and keystone to get the image as good as possible. meaning that i found it harder to get a perfectly clear image compared to the YG600.
in the end i had to try and get the projector almost “head on” to the wall and adjusted keystone and focus to get it perfect.
there is no black corners on this thing and the image quality is really really good, i got lucky on this and got it on black Friday for only 110 down from 180. and in my opinion i would be happy to have paid the full price if i knew how good it was going be.
Honestly a really great projector and easily worthy of integrating into a dedicated home cinema room, its also worthy of a decent screen as the image is that good on it. for 110 its stupidly good, i dont even want the free gift as i have had one from them before (amazon fire stick worth 40 at the time).
time will tell if it holds up but even if it lasted only 2 years its worth the quality you get, i only use blu rays on my PlayStation 4 and so its not really worth getting a higher resolution projector yet, but i am guessing Elephas will be working on a 4K one in the future once we have newer resolutions come out and the parts are cheaper. i am always behind with tech and i always get a good price because of that.
to me 1080p for a 100 – 150″ screen is good enough to be cinema quality, this will be a nice addition to my dedicated budget cinema room, that will be upgraded once Elephas bring out a new projector with even better resolution.
i must also add that UHD youtube videos look stunning on this even just projected at a wall, as for daytime viewing its not going to do too well but i bought this item knowing that already, as i intended to use it in a dedicated cinema room anyway.
great product and i will buy from Elephas again, they keep impressing me with great prices and great quality.
Really impressed with the quality!
In the video, because of where we’ve positioned it it isn’t projecting straight onto the wall, but it is still really clear. Some projectors do have the capability to shift the lens horizontally, this one can only be adjusted vertically. The sound in the video is coming out of our own speakers, but we tested out the internal ones which are decent enough.
The projector itself is a little bigger than I expected but also looks way slicker than I thought it would, so think we’ll just keep it out when we aren’t using it.
More than we were initially looking to spend, but after some research it seemed worth it. We found a lot of projectors have a much lower resolution than they first advertise, saying they can ‘support’ resolution up to 1080p but their native resolution is lower. Whereas this one (ELEPHAS Projector Q9) has a native res of 1080p and ‘supports’ 2000p. It also has higher lumens than the others we looked at.
It was offering a 30 Amazon voucher which made it more appealing at 169.99, and has come with an offer of a free gift if we leave an honest review, one of them is a fire stick which is worth 40. So I will keep my review honest and update if we don’t receive the gift :p
Reasons for 4 stars and not 5 –
We thought we’d have to send it back at first because when it arrived the lens looked like it had scratches on. They have come off but it’s a shame it didn’t have the fresh out the box feeling, although no other issues than that. Would be good if it came with stuff to clean the lens with though.
The fan is quite loud, so there may be quieter ones out there, but you don’t notice it when watching a film.
Also it would be good to be able to adjust the lens horizontally.
All in all though – I would (and have) recommended it to friends 🙂
So I first bought a projector the vankyo 410 for 89.99 and it came in a lovely carry case and was looking very nice.our first projector and family movie night was very exciting, especially when your 40 inch TV has now grown to around 115 inches.i was very excited but a bit disappointed that I didn’t risk going for the more expensive but higher native resolution 1080p projector as this was 720p and i knew the improvements would not be that much more of a cost! So I returned the vankyo and went for the elephas q9 full hd projector instead.first impressions was that this thing was bigger than the vankyo and didn’t come in one of those lovely carry cases to my disappointment.but as soon as I fired it up it was apparent that the brightness and colour was a vast improvement even in daylight. These projectors are budget and can’t be compared to high end projectors that cost 3-4 times more which can run all day, these in my opinion are for movie nights indoors or outdoors and they really come alive in a dark room. The fan noise was a little quieter than the vankyo and the built in speakers were a vast improvement. I had to plug my portable speaker into the vankyo but the built in speakers in the elephas were good enough not to! The first movie I watched was about 150 inch and projected onto my white walls and was really impressed with the quality for the price. There was a instant improvement over the vankyo playing the same movie from the same source which was my portable harddrive plugged into usb playing full hd movie. And then I tested my firestick and we watched bake off for cancer research and was amazed at the picture quality…it was clearer than the previous movie I watched which surprised me as they were full hd as well, maybe because it was playing through hdmi and not the usb port I’m not sure but it was very impressive…. Especially for the price. I can’t vouch for how long the product will last but there is a 3 year warranty card with 100% refund and as long as they keep to that promise I can’t see why anyone wouldn’t give it a shot. Some movies do look a little grainy but sometimes that’s the way they were intended to be seen and let’s face it for the money you can’t get a decent 32 inch TV never mind a projector that goes up to 300 inch as quoted. I’ll finish by saying it’s worth the money in my opinion and I wouldn’t have expected a picture this good for this price… Hope this helps people with making the decision.
Quick Summary: Very impressive, and Highly recommended, even to the point I have alreadyrecommendit as a item to purchase to a friend who has also purchased one.
My review I canassure you is 100% my own opinion. I purchased this protector with my own Money and this review is not influencedin anyway.
I felt the need to review this Projector, quite simply butits amazingfor what it cost.
I had owned a projectormany years ago, it was sold simply on the basis of needing to moveinto my first place and freeing up funds. I’ve missed the projector experience every single day since.
However that is going back 10+ years, the projectorI purchased then was 700+ and entry level then.
Whilst this is entry levelproductin theory today , it also only 150, but its LED lit, far brighterand with longer shelflife than older projectors & Native 1080P. – NOT 1080 Support
Going back again, it only cost me 150. I couldn’teven buy a qualitybranded 32″ Bedroom television for that price. This is exactly however where this projector has gone, my Bedroom.
The unit sits on a shelf above my Bed and gives me up to 120″ Display at that distance.
I understand the claimis up to 300″ however to achieve this the projector would have to be some distanceaway from the wall and at that point I may question the visible screen quality.
The screenquality however at this time up to 120″ is by far FANTASTIC.
When purchasing this projectorI did a lotof research and for the money it was honestlydown to 2 units, this and the Vankyo 630.
There was only 10 differenceeither way, with specs the same I chose this modelquite simply on is appearance, I thought when not in use, as a shelveditem it looks clean, fresh and in a way slightly retro, the fabricfrontagejust gives it a differing look to that of a genericProjector.
As noted above, I did a lot of research before actually buying it, reading the reviews, going on Youtube, and whilst waiting for the delivery 2 review points worried or bugged me… But lets be clear (Do not worry about them)
1: The Sound(Speakers)
2: The Sound (Fan Noise)
1: the speakers were by far way better than expected, Easily surpassthat of a generic television speakers capability. As soon as I had arrived it was straight out of the box and in use, I watched a few Netflix Shows, (Marco Polo) and I find as-long as the Show you are watching is entertaining and looks good, with OK ish sounds, you get lost in the show and forget about the Sound in general. So more than OK for general use.
I am however a major movie and game fan so the projectorisn’tused for sound – just for Visual pass through, the sound is now carried to a Sound Bar. One friend criticized the projector saying it only really has a AUX out for sound – But who cares, Id trail the sound out of my Sky and Games console via optical to the Sound Bar. Either way you can still carry sound that way if you want.
2: Its a projector, yes they get warm so do have a fan, its like anythingLaptop or PC, the projector is Audible but this thing sits on a shelf above my head in bed, I did not hear it when there is something on, Movie or Games, it only notable if you stand there without any source going through it.(But at that point why moan about the loud fan – if its not being used (I hope that make sense)
Idon’t believe I can stress enough what an amazingproduct this is and for what it cost.
Its as stated, astraight out of box usable projector, the advantage of inbuilt speakers, it will work for those with limited space or simply do not care or want additionalsound bars or speakers. Honestly you don’t really need them for basic use.
The Speakers are Perfect for outdoor summer use, or generalportability to another persons house, this is only about 2.5kg and can be easily carried about in a rucksack to another location.
Now this point is not aimed just at this projector, but many othersout there, but If I was to re-designthis product myself I would had adjustablefeet, so all 4 can be adjusted, whilst there is a leg for front adjustment, having the same capability at the rear would be helpful, That said it doesn’tdetract my review or opinion of this unit.
I’m currentlyusing this against a Whitewall, the wall paperis slightly embossed so the next thing will be a screen, however in my opinion the benefit of the screen would only be very minimal against what I have already, so im not in a rush.
I’ve added a Photo but to be honest its pointless, its a dark room with a photo ofDisney+. but to give you an idea, that image is around110-120″ approximate. The protector is fully usable in day light also, however really shines in darker locations and you get the better performance.
I have no regrets in my own purchase, no regrets in recommending to afriend (Who has purchased it) and no hesitation in recommending it to public on this forum.
What you need to know about this Projector:
There is vertical keystone adjustment, but no focus compensation. So you’ll have to choose which part of the picture you want in focus. Best to mount this projector level. There is no other keystone or ‘shape’ adjustment on the unit. Apparently there is a screw to set horizontal focus that is factory adjusted. There is a small amount of ‘Zoom’ adjustment to reduce the size.
The unit is native 1080P and slightly brighter than the very cheap Chinese projectors.
You can plug USB drives direct into the unit and play content. (h265 not supported). The processing power is low, so you want 1080p content that’s relatively small in file size or the unit struggles to play it and can be choppy.
The fan inside is fairly loud. Think hairdryer on a low setting. Not a factor if you’re watching at ‘Movie’ level sound volumes, but annoyingly loud if you want to watch some TV at a quiet volume.
There’s a small ‘tripod’ style hole on the bottom front. You can’t mount the unit with this, it’s just for raising the front end. If you remove the 4 rubber feet there are mounting holes. A generic projector mount that can resize it’s screw positions will fit in these holes. The projector has a setting to flip and reverse the image for ceiling mounting.
The remote is simple and works fine in any part of the room. You need to supply batteries (AAA).
Short HDMI and audio (RCA to 3.5mm) are supplied in the box.
There is a speaker in the projector. It’s not Stereo, and not particularly good quality. However it does go fairly loud and is adequate for a quick gaming session, but not great for cinematic sound.
Hopefully this has been an actual useful review. Be cautious of all the fake 5* reviews across Amazon and the 5* Free Gift reviews. Look at 2-4* reviews for the best info.
Best things about the projector has to be the quality of the image and the sound you get.
I am very satisfied with this purchase.
The latest display technology which provides HD image quality, that is the most important thing I need, not bad compares with other famous brands projectors.
The brightness of image is just extraordinary, and I can use it even the lights on.
The sound quality is great volume level, also it can connect speaker, up to personal like.
It’s easy to use, can be packed straight after use, no need to wait to cool down.
I also like the fact you can adjust the projected image so that it appears flat even if you are projecting from an angle.
You don’t need a projector screen, any white wall would works well, other colors walls also works but not perfect as white walls.
The image size can be up to 300-inch, it is a huge home cinema. I like the experience, just amazing.
I can enjoy the cinema with family in a nice , quiet, warm environment, no matter how’s the weather, we don’t need to travel far any more.
It comes with multifunctional connections. AV/VGA/USB/Micro SD/ HDMI/Audio to connect different devices.
By using HDMI adaptor cables, I can connect iPhone, iPad, android devices, very convenient to use.
But personal idea if it’s in WiFi, it will be more convenient. As sometimes due to the wire connection, the cables are a bit more easy to get faulty, without cable will look more tidy as well. Also this product doesn’t include HDMI cable, so you have to purchase the cable separately if you want to connect mobile devices.
Overall it exceeded my expectations. It’s performing very well, both image and sound, also the price is nice too.
In summary, an elegant look unlike its amazon old wagon like picture. It has a much higher DPI than previous versions that I could prepare and read websites on PC with good accuracy especially if the projector is placed central to the wall, otherwise using the 15 keystones would bring a slightly blurred text on upper and lower margins but ‘hey I am projecting onto the wall’. Good lens with several options to select between vivid to cool, setting a timer etc. I use HDMI to connect it to my laptop as unlike VGA it doesn’t require an extra audio cable. The frame rate around 59 – 60 and you can slightly adjust if using PC but liquidity of videos is fantastic = TVs. High-quality audio of good volume mimicking that of a single big blue 4 directional speaker and > 2X louder than that of an average laptop. I bought this because its quality is near to those expensive brands and thus would expect its price to go higher in few months. I like it in my bedroom as would turn it vertical and you have options to flip the screen at 90 angles; however, it is of around 1-meter X 75 cm frame if projecting vertically towards the ceiling and wouldn’t get larger unless if you keep changing your PC resolution settings until you find what would make it larger. I am waiting for a chrome cast to try the phones and haven’t got screen yet so will update later. Future recommendations: add horizontal, rotational screen adjustments as the current 15 keystones is only vertical thus would be tricky if projecting obliquely but possibly can be adjusted by PC settings. Add zooming at closer than 1.5meter distance. Reduce fan noises, add Bluetooth or wifi connection (although the latter is usually slow and unreliable), needs longer power supply cable ( current one I guess 1.3 meter). Finally, if an additional pc program to be added ‘optional’ to give more advanced options regarding rotation/zooming etc.
Finally, I can say we all family have abandoned our big TV as we sat watching a vivid high-quality cinema ‘ I mean it’ which I didn’t expect until I used it!
Update: Perfect with everything, but picture getting blurred a bit when changing keystones angle, also no much flexibility in choosing view angle; otherwise it is very accurate without using keystones and displays near to TV even in day light! sadly doesn’t fit my purpose of having flexible zooming and various angle view for my office presentations as in order to show tiny fonts must not use keystones, overall I wouldn’t expect a better one for its price but sadly will have to return it one week after trying all possibilities to get over the angle flexibility issue.
