Well the answer to that is yes and it’s a very good piece of kit, it is long enough to reach the sat nav and also charge the wife’s iPad on a long journey so all good

Lovely product. Unfortunately needed to return as it didn’t charge my phone. Nothing wrong with product though as it charged other devices. So make sure you check your make/model is listed!! I naively just took USB C to mean it fitted my phone and would work.

Not sure if it’s just my car or what, but this seems to be a super tight fit – needed a hard push to insert it – it certainly won’t fall out of it’s own accord! I can’t confirm voltages or exact power output, but it seems to charge my iPhone almost as quick as using a mains powered one, whilst at the same time, powering a dashcam. One thing to be aware of though, it has 2x USB A type sockets, so you might need to invest in A to C type cables if you have newer devices.
I like the illuminated blue ring around the type, along with the built in volt meter, although I found the blue ring to be quite bright initially – but you get used it after a few days. The body is metal (they claim zinc alloy) so should stand up to everyday wear and tear quite well. I have 2 ‘niggles’ though – it sticks out from the dashboard further than some, and the voltmeter lettering and ‘QC3.0’ are upside down to each other. Apart from these two (fairly) minor things and coupled with the price point, it seems to be a really good adapater.

This is a really solid product, made from a metal material and it looks really nice in the grey colour that it’s finished in. It look even better in the dark when it’s plugged in and lit up. Hopefully you can see the nice blue ring around it in one of the attached pictures, and with the power display in the middle it looks really cool. It has a total output of 36W so you will have no problem fast charging devices through this

Although that power display in the middle looks really nice I can’t really see how useful it is. Most people know that the standard output from a car battery is normally 12V. In the pictures you can see that I tested with two different phones and the power display was initially 11.7v and it fluctuated slightly when I was charging the phones, and it was then showing 11.5 and 11.6 V – so about where you would expect it to be. I first thought it would display the amount of power that the device plugged into it was drawing, in which case it would have been a lot more useful. When I went to test it in the car, I soon realised that all that display is showing is the power coming into that charger. To me this is just a useless bit of information and a big opportunity missed, as they could have displayed the power being drawn for each device and then both ports combined – which would be a lot more useful.

I was going to gift this product to someone and expected it to come in a nice little cardboard box so that it looked like a nice expensive product. If you have a look at the pictures you can see the transparent blue plastic bag that this actually comes in. I can’t gift it to anyone in a bag like that as I don’t want to end up looking like a cheapskate. However, as the product is really well made and really does fast charge my phones, I will definitely be using it and just upgrading the single port charger I currently have in my car. If you look at the price, then you will see this is an absolute bargain for the price so it’s definitely worth purchasing even as it stands currently. The power consumption would have been a nice to have as they went to all the trouble of actually putting a nice display in there, and apart from the packaging, I just can’t fault this on anything else. At it’s current price of 7.99 (current price) it is excellent value and a great little bargain.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very sturdy and well designed product that looks and works great. Not sure about the power display

Nice little 12v to USB dual adaptor which shows the 12v battery voltage. The 12v adaptors seems nice quality and fits the 12v socket nicely. USB lead quality is OK

Positives: Good value and works well.
    Negatives: none.

I was given this item to review. I have given my honest unbiased views although I have not been able to test this item for long term functionality and build quality over several weeks.

To sum up my opinion: would I buy it or not. YES

4.0 out of 5 stars Works and seems a nice fit in the 12v sockets. Decent quality and shows 12v battery charge

Several features make it invaluable for me. It is indeed an aluminium alloy. This safeguards it from overheating. The double chargers, particularly the fast chargers, are prone to overheating. And so the alloy is perfect not only for that but for rough handling when you pull it out and pug in without looking.
More importantly, it comes with a fairly accurate for such a piece of equipment a battery charge status. It is critical for my old start/stop battery as it shows whether the battery is sufficiently charged to kick in resuming the engine for idle. I start a ride with around 12V on the display and when this charger shows me 14+ I know for certain the battery operates at full capacity.
I have not seen the charging speed of 36W indicated by the manufacturer just yet, but it does around 5W when charging one fast charge-enabled phone at a time.
It definitely adds value to me so I highly recommend it.

This is useful to keep my phone charged when in the car. Clicks in well and the ports themselves are good. Make sure you have a usb old to usb c cable and you are good to go with a new iPhone. Build quality is good. I like that they have included a cable.

I already purchased one of these made by another manufacturer for my girlfriend’s car. I really find the battery output display useful so I can keep an eye on the condition of the battery. This product does exactly the same thing and looks identical in everyway EXCEPT that on this product (on my copy anyway) the facia has been applied upside down. It’s not really a big issue, but what this means is that when you have it spun around the correct way to read the voltage display, the print for the words QC3.0 are upside down. It would drive anyone with OCD nuts after a while!

Apart from this, it charges devices as it should, and pretty quickly too. It fits my cigarette light socket perfectly with no slop. You get a USB-A to USB-C cable included also.

A useful charger with battery voltage display for me, but the manufacturer needs to work on quality control a bit.

Plugging directly into your car’s power socket, this charger actually features two USB-A ports of the Quick Charge variety of up to 18W per port; which is very reasonable for a car charger, and actually pretty fast.

Kitted-out with a decent 1.2m long USB-A to USB-C cable, and your all set for charging most devices these days, as most people will already have an A-to-A cables from the millions of legacy devices out there.

The charger is suitable for most vehicles of battery voltage between 12V and 24V (i.e. pretty much most vehicles!), and unusually also has a small screen which advises the user of what wattage is being delivered at any one time over the two ports.

Being made of metal its tough too, it has many protections (over-heating, over-voltage, over-circuit, over-current, over-charging, and even short circuit!), and finally features a useful blue light when in use, so people can see when the charger is working correctly.

It under read the battery voltage by between 0.2 to 0.15 volts when the engine was not running (typical battery voltage 12.4 V) and about 0.4 volts with the engine running (typical battery voltage 14.6 V). At the time a dash cam and mobile phone when connected were taking around 2 Amp ( i.e. around 10 W at 5 V) in total so should be well within its capabilities so I am not clear why there was the battery voltage drop I observed. In any event, the voltage drops are not significant and 5 Volt output to the dash cam and mobile phone was around 5.1 Volts with the engine running and 4.9 V with the engine stopped – remained at 4.9 Volts for the duration of the test of half an hour.

In short it is consistent enough to provide an adequate and stable voltage and current to charge at 10 Watts. I don’t currently have a device needing to charge at 18 Watt which is the maximum stated per USB port for this charger. Samsung phones will charge at higher power ratings than 18 Watts but you wont get this from this adaptor so if that is what you need then look elsewhere.

The battery voltage read out is a nice feature but with two USB connectors in place it is awkward to see. Nevertheless, it is a handy feature and provides a quick check when the engine is running to see if the battery is charging – in general around 14.4V it is and 12.2V or less it isn’t so you are pre warned the car may fail to start in the near future.

For me 18 Watts per channel is enough to charge what I have. With all these types of product longevity is an important issue but it is going to take many months of use to satisfy me it is safe and reliable to use.
One good thing. It appears Rocketec concentrate on only supplying these types of charger so that may bode well for its longer term performance. Time will tell. For now four stars.

I like that you can bend the charger away from the gear stick, and I also like that it shows the battery voltage.
Just to note, I would not leave any of these type of charger plugged in as they all drain the batteries over time, better to plug in as you use it.

My car doesn’t get used much and the battery goes flat over several days. This device shows me at a glance what state the battery is in. I now know, in advance, if I need to charge the battery before going out.
