Correct set up.
I’ve seen YouTube videos explaining that you must follow the correct order to charge: (DONT PLUG IN YET!)
CONNECT RED – POSITIVE +
CONNECT BLACK – NEGATIVE –
PLUG IN
CHOOSE MODE
LEAVE IT ALONE.
WHEN BATTERY ICONS START BLINKING IT’S NOT POSSIBLE TO TOGGLE MODE SELECTION AND THIS ISN’T A FAULT.
FUL= FULLY CHARGED
UNPLUG
BLACK OFF
RED OFF.
Error Codes:
ER1 Red and black wrongly fitted.
ER2 Wrong mode voltage selected.

Nothing to dislike, great product, does what it says and above all I could ring the technical team and ask what might slighty ameuter questions and be given good solid advice with any condesending comments.
Ive bought a lithium battery for my caravan and did a bit of research to get the correct charger but the battery company put some wierd get out clause on the top of battery saying it needs a copper ring to charge it……. if using crocodile clips, and they did provide it, however, Ring did so i spoke ot Edward and sent him photos and I realise this is going to be fine top marks to Ring and I wish Id bought the battery from them too 🙂 Next time I will. thanks
Useful little car battery charge
Really pleased with this tidy little unit, which is self-managed, meaning you can leave it connected to the car battery without worrying about overcharging. I own several cars, and some go unused for weeks at time. Multiple connector options in the box allow you to hardwire a socket to the battery for quick connection inside the car, and I can just leave the charger to do it’s thing without even opening the bonnet.
Safe to use with a range of battery types
Easy to use battery charger and optimiser, I tried it on my boat batteries and it brought them up to full charge and continued to monitor the battery without any damage. Also the unit is weatherproof which is ideal in a maritime setting or could be used in a garage just as easily
Good not grea
Worked faultlessly for less than a month and one day just decided not to work at all, I was using it to keep my old car battery from draining (barely gets used) checked the fuse and it wasn’t that. Fortunately the customer support was fantastic and I got a replacement in the form of the 6a model which has been perfect highly recommend the 6a
Good home charger.
Bought this charger for my son to keep his motorcycle battery charged whilst being left stood in garage for periods ot time.
Very pleased with quality & features, does the job required.
Don’t know how it might cope with having to charge a larger car battery from flat but hope will never have to.
Easy to use
I thought it might be difficult to set up but I was very wrong ? Hanging hook also handy to hang from the bonnet when in use

Easy to set up and use. We have a self-charging hybrid car and the 12v battery was always going flat due to our short journeys. This has completely solved the problem. Excellent value for money.
When I was a boy...
I didn’t realise there were so many battery types out there, not just amps and volts but AGM, FBI, CIA, Mi6 etc.
This charger does the ones I need it to on both my car and motorcycle.
Nice small design that’s aile away from the large metal box chargers I used as a teenage driver.
The supplied quick connects are an added bonus.
Bargain.
Oh, and thanks to the customer service at Ring I had a couple of questions answered.
Mixed Experience
My experience with this smart car battery charger has been somewhat mixed. While it does its job adequately, I’ve encountered a few minor issues along the way. It’s a practical solution for maintaining batteries, but it may not be the most reliable option out there. If you’re in need of a charger for occasional use, this could suffice, but for heavier usage, you might want to explore alternatives.

Replaced my Oxford oximiser with this item for my motorcycle which incidentally just fell apart on me. The Ring charger is a much better constructed battery charger/maintainer. Don’t hesitate..buy the ring chargerfar better.
Connect the charger to your battery, red lead to positive of battery and black lead to a clean shiny part of the metal chassis (if possible). If not possible, connect black lead to the negative terminal of the battery.
Plug in and switch on at mains.
Press the single select button that is located below the lcd screen to select either 6V or 12V charging voltage. If winter you can select the mode which shows a snowflake *. The button should be pressed repeatedly and then released in order to scroll through the selections. Press, release, press etc.
If the charger doesn’t respond to you pressing the control button, then the charger can be reset by disconnecting the crocodile clip from the battery and switching off at the mains for two minutes. This resets the charger.
Reconnect to the battery and switch on at the mains. You get another 60 seconds to make a selection using the control button.
If you have error codes;
Er1 means error 1, and Er2 means error 2.
Error 1 shows if the battery voltage is less than 2 volts.
Error 2 shows if the battery voltage significantly different to the charging voltage selected on the charger.
Example 1, 12V charging selected and charger connected to a 6V battery. Example 2, 6V charging selected and charger connected to a 12V battery.
If an error shows, you will not be able to charge the battery.
Great tool.
Good quality build and seems to be reliable.It does what it says and it’s relatively easy to use as long as you have a minimum understanding of its functionality.Very versatile as can be fitted for jump starting but in the same time it will recharge the battery nice and safe according to the standard parameters.There is some setting available if needed and works with big Start/stop engine batteries as well .Great value for money no doubt.

So far it works as I expected
I’m not an expert to go into advanced details related at this product but the most important aspect is that it managed to charge my car battery not once but twice and it is relatively easy to use.
I had the closer look at the user manual in order to understand the functionalities of this product and I have left it for a couple of hours to charge the battery of my car and then I have tested it and it was almost full.
Good part is that I can count on this product and this is what it matters.
I cannot say that in terms of build in quality this is something to impress but so far for me it works so I have noted a complain about it.
