    Motorhome use
Arrived on time, instructions a little vague but easy to set up, wanted it for going around the Motorhome, just easier without cables, topped up to 72 psi, took a little time but managed it, did rear tyres only as they were low hopefully it will cover all 4 but can use 12v as well . Watch the temperature of tube ends especially on unit as they can get hot, pleased with it though.

A well thought out design ,easy to use.
With its on board battery , it is easy to inflate your car tyres as there are no trailing leads to worry about when moving around the vehicle. there is an emergency 12 volt lead so you can access power from the car cigarette lighter.

I wanted a tyre inflator that did not necessarily have to plug into anything to get it to work. It had to be stand-alone capable of inflating car tyres, but also of being used anywhere for ride-on lawn mower, bicycles, wheel barrow tyres etc. This robust, well constructed and fine looking machine did what I wanted. Very pleased. After charging (4 hours) I was able to inflate 16 car tyres that all were several psi below what was recommended. After that it needed re-charged but it’s not every day it will have to inflate so many tyres one after the other! Brilliant device.

Works well for a fair price
Used it to top up Fiat Ducato campervan tyre from 62 psi to 73 psi – took a few minutes but certainly worked (the brass connector to the Ring inflator was pretty hot after). Also used the presto connector to top up MTB tyres. All good.

Very portable in a car/van in terms of size.

(Thanks to those who answered my query about pumping up the tyre above)

The instructions are ok but only diagram based.

    Really good tyre inflato
This is a very compact and effective tyre inflator which is incredibly easy to use. The only reason I’ve given it 3 stars for accuracy is the totally awful instructions which come as a pictogram and which are not intuitive at all and very hard to understand. I had watch a Youtube Video to explain how the device worked, but once I knew, it worked brilliantly. Certainly can recommend it.

With so many choices I went with the Ring RTC 4000 due to size and evaluations from I guess self proclaimed experts on tyre pumps. I wanted a rechargeable unit that just does the job. I was delighted with build quality and compactness. Although no battery rating was listed on the spec, so far it seems to be lasting very well, is simple to use with features such as various pressure units (as you’d expect) a fairly simple battery life indicator, and ability to store and use different pre-set pressures you can set up. The tyre attachment hose is good, fits easily to pump and tyre valve with a metal thread , and stores away into the back of the pump which is good.

    Super product. Must have
    I drive a M3 E92 V8 with Pirelli P Zero front 245/35Y and back 265/35Y 19 inch so require precision tyre pressure.
This product covers it all. It is so compact, well built, does all 4 tyres without any problems. One charge job done.
Best inflator and it’s mobile no need to plug into cigarette lighter. Highly recommended. Only watch out when removing metal connector on hose on product. It’s hot hot.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersLove i
Bought this when I had a slow leak in one of my tyres as I was getting fed up of digging out the foot pump every week to top it up.

It’s a superb inflator overall. Battery life is the weakest point as it does need to be charged after a couple of top ups though it’s easy enough and the case has a little cover to access the charge port.

Accuracy seems to be pretty close to my gauge (which is very accurate) but more importantly it’s consistent so I’ve got it set slightly higher than the pressure I’m aiming for which gets it exactly right according to my gauge.

There’s a memory function as well so you can store pressures for multiple cars.

The unit is quite noisy as expected for a compressor and is so convenient I don’t think I’ll be going back to foot pumps or 12v powered compressors unless I forget to charge it and have no battery life left.

    Would very much recommend.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGreat product, extremely happy!
Arrived 2 days ago, already used it.
Came with a full charge. Was so pleased to see how good a quality it appeared to be and even happier when I used it on a problematic car tyre.
Easy to charge, easy to use, good quality unit, cables and carry case…..real excellent product.
Chuckled at how much puff the unit puts out for a USB rechargeable unit.
Hope the unit holds charge over time, tine will tell but can gladly give this 5 stars and highly recommended.
Great to have to save waiting at petrol stations and feels like it will last a long time.
Money really well spent I feel.
What a great little gadget and also love the fact it has a nice little torch on it, missed that in the advert spec, really useful.

    Lack of support from Amazo
Great item but unfortunately doesn’t work properly. Inflated only for a second or two and then turns off completely.
Used on a trip 3 months after buying it worked fine but thereafter developed the fault.
Ring automotive have been helpful via email but Amazon not so.
Future advice on electronics would be to buy local where you can get better support for a faulty item.

    Compact and easy to use
It can be used straight off the 12v car socket or independently from the on board Lithium battery. I thought initially that the screw on valve connector would be an improvement over the hit and miss clip on style of pump fixing which the past has caused me a lot of bother which on one occasion caused the valve pin to jam in causing the tyre to deflate rapidly down to the rim. However with the screw on valve connector you can lose some of the carefully dispensed air pressure when disconnecting due to the time it takes to unscrew. I solved this dilemma by purchasing a couple of clip on style adapters (from Amazon) which convert the pump to a modern clip on version . I now have the perfect pump for inflation or top up.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersGood but could be better, one obvious issue !
Bought this inflator after hours if reading reviews etc. It’s solid and powerful. Nice useful features and well packaged. I use it to inflate tyres on a number of vehicles, it does not have a 90 degree connection so is very fiddly attaching to motorbike tyre valves. The screw-on connection is secure but it screws on rather than locks on. As you remove it via the screw thread it is impossible not to lose some air as the air “leaks” for a second or 2 as it is removed. This is an issue if you are fussy about having ” exact” tyre pressures on low profile tyres for instance. I add half a psi to mine and hope for the best. Apart from that it’s solid and reliable, easy to use and has a nifty canvas bag to keep it in.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersExcellent - updated due to intermittent faul
Had this Ring inflator a while now and have held off reviewing it to see how it performed. We’ll, it is an excellent piece of kit, easy to use and compact. Top quality.
Update: unit seems to have developed an intermittent fault where it does not always turn on except when not attached to tyre. Unit returned to Amazon and refunded. I wanted a replacement but Amazon wouldn’t as they said it was outside the returns period! In meantime the unit has gone up in price

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersCompact, Cordless & Fas
Hesitated in trying this as it cordless, yet trying to find an inflator which has a power cord longer than the standard 3m to reach all tyres from one 12v socket pushed me to give it a go.

Compared to other cordless options, I like this as it has an internal battery which can be charged via a USB or 12v socket. No swapping a power pack for a corded power pack. If it runs out out of battery life mid-inflation, the same 12v charge lead will power it. Easily topped up 4 tyres on my Tesla on one charge with no dent in the battery indicator.

Not overly noisy, compact and with a clear backlit screen with a memory function to save having to remember the required pressure. Thought this a bit daft but works really easily. Cuts off when pressure reached.

It comes with a case and can remain in this when charging or being powered.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersGreat pump, but poor instructions
I already have a Ring pump that is powered from the socket in the car (what used to called the cigar lighter) but this is annoying to use due to having to keep passing it around the car attached to the power cable so only gets used in an emergency, preferring to stick with my manual foot pump, which is now getting close to giving up, hence time to seek something new.

The cordless versions seem to have really improved since I last looked at them, as with most things the batteries have become reliable.

This is similar to use in many ways to my mains powered Ring pump but I started off reading the instruction leaflet that is the box and like many have said, it is very poor. Just a series of diagrams which at first look left me none the wiser. However, once I had the pump in hand and followed the pictures whilst operating the various buttons it soon made sense and is quite straight forward and logical to use.

I have only used it once so far just to be sure all working ok (it is) and it performed as expected connecting easily to the valve and raising all 4 of the 17 inch wheels by 2 lbs to their correct pressures. It did this in about 30 seconds on each and tested against my trusty gauge was within 0.2lbs accurate which is about as close as you will get and could easily be adjusted using the release valve on the pump if you want it to be perfect.

It would have nice to be able to set the cut off more precisely but this is restricted to 0.5lb steps, so if you want, say, 35.3lbs you need to set it for 35.5lbs and bleed the air back out to 35.3lbs (there is a handy bleed valve on the pump)

Mrs G said she could just about hear the pump from indoors (car was on drive in front of window, about 5 feet away) but didn’t disturb her working. However, to avoid upsetting the neighbors I won’t be using the pump if there is any chance they may still be asleep.

I would have given this a 5* review, but the very poor instructions do, I feel, cost it 1*

Golden Review Award: 19 From Our UsersForget all the umpteen other cordless compressors, this is the one!
Don’t normally write reviews, but this is my third different cordless compressor I’ve had over the last 18 months, the previous two, different ‘no-name/chinese’ wunder compressors with rave reviews on amazon ended up being a waste of money for different reasons. This RTC4000 is in a different league. I bought this one as even though it had lower specs on paper I’d had enough of trying random brands that promised state of the art specs and just ended up being frustrating to use after a few months (constantly needing to recharge, battery loosing charge, slow, noisy, innacurate, rubbish cables, etc). This Ring unit has proved far better on all counts . I wish I had discovered it sooner!
The other are quoted with larger battery capacity (7500mAH+ vs this with 5000mAH), less noise (70-80dB vs this at 90dB), and higher pressure ratings (150psi+ vs this at 120psi), but I’d suggest the other ads are somewhat exaggerating their product info.
Even with lowers specs, this RTC4000 suprisingly trumps them all! Lasts longer, holds on to charge better, is less noisy in real use, faster to inflate, more accurate (tested using an accurate handheld gauge). Other benefits – as it’s inflating the display goes up in 0.1 psi increments as opposed to 0.5 or 1.0, and when it stops it actually stops and settles around the psi you’ve set instead of being out by 2.0 or 3.0, has a much handier carrying case that lets you charge without removing it, better storage for extra bits too, and still has the ability to plug into your car’s 12v outlet which many of the other brands don’t. Lastly, the cable is actually a more practical length, can leave the unit on the ground instead of having to hold it or leave it dangling, and stows away nicely, it has a memory function that many other-name devices don’t have (v useful if you have more than one car or set of pressures).
Can’t recommend enough… fingers crossed it lasts!

Very handy and easy to use
I charged this fully and then left it a month before I needed to inflate my tyres. Charge was still in the battery and managed to top up from 29 to 34 for 1 tyre and 30/31 to 34 for the other 3, without running out of battery. I did this during the cold snap a few weeks back and had not trouble with thus pump. The flash light was great, and the fact it is not that heavy and can be carried easily is pleasing.

Clearly though, it will need to be charged every time you use it to keep it topped up. I like the compactness and that all the accessories are neatly stowed away. Took a while to realise you need to set the pressure on the memory for it to stop automatically. Should have read the instructions really.

Time will tell how long this will last, but as of now, I am approving of this pump, especially as it can used inside the home other things, like a gym ball.

    Good value
This is really a good device and being rechargeable makes it a lot easier to use. But there are some limitations:
The unit struggles to inflate tyres in cold (<5c) which is not really a surprise
It easily inflates 4 tyres from 28pi to 33psi (10 centigrade)
It can only manage two tyres from 20psi to 33psi
Within these limitations its great. Be prepared to charge the battery every time you use i

Golden Review Award: 17 From Our UsersPump it up!
I purchased this item to keep in my motorbikes top box with a tubeless tire repair kit. Also easy access when in the shed to use for pre ride checks before going anywhere on the Motorbike. I found the tire pressure very realistic compared to a external pressure gauge I have and another manual pump I use. I found this easy to use, which is beneficial as the word instructions are to small for my older eyes. The picture explanation tho simplistic was easy for me to follow. I did go on there website and they do a download of the instructions, which I did which enabled me to zoom in to read on my tablet as well as my phone. PC also can be used. The only thing I wasn’t much for was the screw onto tire adapter. but that was due to me not being dexterous enough to remove without loosing some pressure. So I purchased at the same time a Extension Pipe Inflation Nozzle Connector where you pull down a small lever to seal the connection. I got this of amazon also. Which I will review also as it worked and fitted perfectly. I noticed that someone mentioned when charging they said the green light keeps flashing. I charged mine with a usb 5v charger which takes longer than a also supplied 12v car charger adapter via cigarette lighter socket. The green light does go stable once fully charged. I like the idea that if overinflated you can press a deflate button and theirs still a digital readout to inform the pressure. It does a range of pressure types including bar and psi. With a 4 memory settings for your different vehicles or when taking a pillion or have luggage on your motorbike. So far I have only had to do top ups on my motorbike pressures and after a few uses its still on the green charged state. But for those that do green-lanes or something more demanding I would see this useful when tire pressure changes are needed for the situation and environment. Also comes in a nice carry case, which can be left on during use. Noise isn’t as loud as plug in types plus all adapters are attached in storage parts plus a stretch pouch which stores the extension adapter, I mention above, perfectly. I am personally very pleased with this and it doesn’t take up much room also on my Bike. Be also very useful when I do my cars tire pressures as theirs spare memory to do a setting for them also. Less hassle than doing at a garage, which can be out of my way at times.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersQuick and easy to use
I was going to buy a standard 12v inflator but read so many reviews saying they were temperamental and prone to overheating the socket so wanted an alternative. This wasn’t cheap, but didn’t seem overpriced, so took a chance. Well it’s great!!

It’s much smaller than expected. Charged it for an hour or so first. Have inflated two car tyres – one from 20psi, the other 29psi, both inflated to 33.5psi in no more than 5mins. It is now showing red to recharge, so not sure whether I hadn’t charged it enough, or if it really can only do one longer charge (or from flat) before the battery runs out. It’s not quiet but definitely not problematically loud.

One star deducted for poor instructions (but it’s easy to figure out) and also the lack of a lever/clamp style connector. I bought one at the same time – just a few pounds and saves losing any air whilst disconnecting, which happens with the thread type connector included.
