Easy to use and works grea
I used this to transfer photos from a CD to a flash drive. Copies were almost instantaneous, and no files were lost.
It’s mostly plug and play, but for those who do not copy files very often, you can do it through Windows Explorer or File Explorer.

Whether you are looking to read or write to any sort of memory card including CompactFlash, SD, Memory Stick, XD, MicroSD, etc., this unit can handle almost any format card. Or maybe you desire a few more USB ports? Well, this unit has them as well. For me, I wanted a general hub that could support memory cards too. Now I can handle just about any port expansion need that I might come up with. So far, the few ports I have tested work well, without any issues. The hub appears to be well built as well. Overall, I am happy with this item.

A USB 3.0 multi-card reader that can read pretty much everything!
A USB 3.0 multi-card reader that can read pretty much everything!

This card reader hub is perfect for anyone who needs to access multiple memory cards and USB devices quickly and easily.

One of the best things about this hub is its versatility. It supports 5 different types of memory cards. This means I can use it with all of my devices without any compatibility issues.

Plus, with 3 extra USB 3.0 ports, I can connect additional devices like USB sticks or external hard drives to my computer or laptop. This comes in handy when I need to transfer files or access data from multiple sources at once.

The USB-C connection ensures fast data transfer speeds, so I can quickly access and transfer files without any lag or delay. And the compact design of the hub makes it easy to take with me on the go, so I can access my files wherever I go.

It’s versatile, easy to use, and provides excellent performance for all of my memory card and USB device needs. If you’re looking for a convenient and reliable card reader hub, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

This hub works great with my iPad as well as my MacBook Pro. I am able to use multiple types of media at once.. I haven’t had any issues with USB drives or SD cards. it’s all plug and play and It works without a hitch. The cable is long enough to not cause a problem, but it’s not too long. Will be a great choice for any computer or device.

The bag this hub is packaged in says “SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE” and It REALLY Does!
AMAZON VINE REVIEW of this QUANLEX 8 in 2 USB 3.0 Hub and Multi-Card Reader

The bag this hub is packaged in says “SIMPLIFY YOUR LIFE” and It REALLY Does!

This is a small, convenient hub and multi-card reader that takes up little desk space, easily hides in a drawer and gives you THREE USB 3.0 ports with FIVE Gbps data transfer speed and five separate card readers that cover MOST of the current cards in use. This hub reads and writes to SD, TF, CF, XD, and MS cards simultaneously while also negotiating the three USB 3.0 ports.

In active testing (See Attached Photos) I had FOUR card readers and all three USB 3.0 ports operating with all of them online and moving data. Having this one hub in your desk or travel tech bag eliminates several pieces of equipment now made redundant. My ONLY caveat here is that the device is plastic and should be treated accordingly. In my experience with it, both traveling and working in my office, it has proven to be more than robust enough for heavy daily use. Just do not use it as a Pickleball paddle.

Two more important points about the QUANLEX Multi-Card reader and USB 3.0 hub.

    1. The connector tip is a two-fer. USB-A OVER a USB-C connector. That addition Ups the ante on the value of this little hub. Your ability to access early “A” devices (USB 1.0 1996) and any current USB-C device is like icing on the cake. You may think you will never use it, but when you DO, that alone will make this a useful purchase. And that leads to point # 2.

    2. All this functionality and device management currently costs $14.88 at AMAZON (February 2024). And THAT is a deal.

FIVE STARS! For Design, multi-functionality, two-tip connectors, and SIZEsomething this useful the size of a PLAYING CARD is brilliant!

All the ports, most of the build quality
My only significant complaint with this port extender was that the exterior case was slippery and it seemed very thin/flimsy. but the ports work fine and the external connection wire seemed unlikely to break immedately.

It has all the ports I need and a couple I have never seen before, there is an MS port I was unable to use as I have no devices to use it. The only real deficiency is that there is no USB-C port, but that really isn’t important as the unit isn’t powered anyway.

I primarily got this product for the diversity of peripheral interfaces it accommodates. I tested it with an SD card from my Canon M6 Mk II. The card was automatically recognized as a storage device by my MacBook Pro (M2). This is true whether this MultiCard Reader/Hub was connected via the USB-C connector or via the included USB-A adapter. The seating of the USB-A adapter on the USB-C connector is rather stiff. This is another good point as it is difficult to accidentally disconnect the adapter. Unfortunately, all of the Hub Ports are USB-A which limits its utility for recently released products. The build quality is also rather minimal as the case is made out of fairly thin plastic.

Used to be that you needed a separate networking switch with its own power. Now you can just plug in a device like this and expand your computer’s USB and SD reading capabilities. I Overloaded my PC with too many connections.

    Works like it should
got this because I needed more USB A ports on a laptop, it works without issues.

The end where the USB C to A converter is attached can be hard to get into some laptop USB C ports because of nearby ports.

I wish it had another USB C port on it however, for charging.

Only tested with a micro SD card and it read fine. If you need a card reader or more USB A ports, this works well.

If you only want to carry one hub, this one will do it all!!
I am forever moving files between my camera, phone and Mac so an SD card reader that makes it easy to do everything is ideal. This one does just that…it’s a nice, small functional reader that fits easily in a bag or drawer and it will accommodate any card you can imagine PLUS much more. USB C, USB A, Compact Flash etc are all covered plus obviously SD both the small and larger variety. Honestly I don’t see needing ANY other reader beyond this so this one’s going on my desk for every day use, especially since it’s got such a small footprint.

Everything I’ve used on it so far works great with no lagging in transfer or copying back and forth. For less than $15 (as of the time of this writing), you really cannot go wrong with this one. I highly recommend it!

I needed something that wouldn't take up much space and would enable me to read/work with different memory cards and flash drives, one at a time or in conjunction with one another. I chose this product because it can be connected to either a USB C or USB A port. The cord itself ends with the USB C connector and the convertor is from USB C to USB A, and the two are attached by a short internal cord. My only concern is that if I pull too hard to separate the two, the cord might break. Other than that one small concern, I've tried it out with my macbook and am very pleased with it, especially liking that it is small and very lightweight, lets me work with more than one memory card/stick at a time and will be very easy to travel with. I do recommend this product.

Versatile and Efficient Multi Card Reade
I use it mainly on my Mac mini which we all know lacks all the necessary ports, so the inclusion of three extra USB3.0 ports has been extremely helpful, although I wish they’ve also included usb c ports. The USB C and USB3.0 connector design is also a big plus!

It’s working but memory cards seem to register a little slower when using this hub. We’re talking about only a few seconds delay so it’s not really a deal-breaker for me. I also have a different hub other than this, and I haven’t experienced the slower read on that one. This one is more versatile though due to the number of different card types it can read. It basically eliminates the need for multiple card readers, streamlining the workflow for photographers, videographers, and professionals dealing with diverse memory cards. You can also connect more external devices simultaneously, enhancing the overall utility of the hub beyond just card reading capabilities.

It looks sleek and it’s compact. It’s portable and easy to carry. Though I can’t say that the build quality of this card reader is commendable. It feels plasticky and cheap.

This card reader has a lot of different slots for various type of cards, the cards include SD, Compact Flash, Compact Flash XD, Micro SD and Smart Media. It also has 3 USB A ports as well so you can plug your keyboard and mouse into it or even flash drive as well. Very lightweight device and easy to carry around. The plastic case however feels kind of cheap though so make sure not to drop it or it could break.
