Got this controller to play retro games on my iPad and it works perfectly but also works great for any other game platform you could ever want and has an app that lets you map your buttons an add macros too has a good weight and feels good in your hand and is a little bit big but that's a plus for me and for the price this blows away the switch pro controller and the Xbox on super easy to pair and has 3 profiles so you can program your controller to different games or different consoles and is super easy to program also this thing has the rumble feature and the tilt steering for Mario cart who's is awesome for a controller that costs 50 bucks

I love retro gaming, and after apple updated the OS to exclude the use of wired XBox controllers I had to find a replacement. This controller works well, versatile, and easy to install/calibrate. Fire up those emulaters and "Mama Mia! Let's a go!!!!"

    Analog stick and firmware problems
TL;DR: left analog stick has issues, maybe future firmware updates will solve them.

After using the non Hall Effect version of this controller, I was expecting perfection. But sadly, there are some quirks. For example, latest 3.04V firmware has “Optimized accuracy” of joysticks. Well, after playing some rocket league, I noticed that for some reason, left stick stops going full range, especially at the top portion (can’t make half flips and dodge correctly anymore, so pretty much unplayable).

So I tried downgrading to 3.02V and it seemed good (avg error of circularity tests went from 8% to 4%). But yet another problem appeared: both thumb stick buttons (R3, L3) were being registered as pressed by default, and pressing them would put them into a released state (basically, inverted).

So I tried downgrading even further, to 2.00V. My controller got bricked. Well at least that’s what I thought, but then noticed there is an “Advanced Mode” in the firmware upgrade tool, so I was able to recover it back to the original, 3.04V firmware.

    Works perfectly
Works perfectly on my Switch and on my Android phone. Pairs well on Bluetooth. No calibrating was needed. Feels solid and well constructed.

My only (minor) quibble is the switch to change the Device it’s paired with is so small and the letters that indicate what each of the four positions are, are very hard to see.

I bought this controller mainly to play Tekken 8, but it didn't go well. Dpad isnt made for clean diagonals or fighting games. But if you are playing anything else, it's a great option for you!

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersFinally, Hall sticks in a non-Xbox form factor.
One slight nitpick. It doesn’t affect usability at all. The sticks are really sensitive, which is good, but there’s a chance that if you’re using this on the Switch the home menu might not move as quick. This is because the left stick might rest an amount ever so slightly off center to a degree no game actually registers but technically still counts as the stick not being purely center. To make sure it stopped I used the Ultimate Software to add 7% deadzone but this could also likely be fixed with a firmware update.
I’ve been thinking about the 8bitdo Ultimate or the KK3 for a while, but the fact that they had an Xbox style layout made me know they were never gonna be my preferred controller feel-wise. I was more interested in the build quality and lifespan. With this controller all bases are covered. Feels solid, has drift-free sticks, and a more Playstation-style layout I’m more comfortable with. I even prefer it over my PS4 controller (Also some rounder thumb caps make it feel more like a PS2/PS3 controller, which is a plus for me.) Shooters, platformers, and fighting games all feel great with this. Will update if any issues come up but if the claims are true this could be my go-to controller from here on out.

Feels amazing to hold and use - very comfortable. It feels better than an old original PlayStation controller. I still use my original controllers, but this is quickly replacing them.
