Great little speaker and very practical desig
    This speaker exceeded my expectations.
It’s relatively small and very lightweight, so clips onto the top of my laptop screen with no issues at all. The mounting clip is designed well and doesn’t impact on my camera or leave me feeling like the spring is too tight or that my screen is in jeopardy.
Size wise it fits in my laptop bag with ease and has made a huge difference to the sound quality of meetings when I’m working away (I don’t like headphones if I can avoid them).
The sound is good, not excellent, but easily good enough for music or voice unless you are a major audiophile and the volume is very loud on full setting.
Connectivity is either via a USB but there is a mini USB adapter supplied (the oval one) and it’s plug and play and I didn’t have to do anything at all before it worked on my laptop.
If I were being picky then I would have also liked a 3.5mm jack option as USB sockets can be in short supply on some laptops, but it’s not a deal breaker for me.
It’s robust whilst being lightweight, so big thumbs up there and the button controls work well (play/pause and volume up/down).
It’s a five stars from me.

Good sound, not sure about the clip.
I’m a little iffy with attaching things to my monitor as I didn’t want to scratch or damage it. The sound quality is very good considering the size and the cable length is enough to reach a pc no problem. Plug and play, works straight out of the box. Couldn’t figure out how to attach it without risking my monitor, so have left it on my desk underneath instead.
Very good considering how small it is. Price is about right for the quality.

    ADELGO USB Speakers
This is a decent speaker that has definitely added some oomph to my PC and laptop.
So easy to sue, just connect via Bluetooth or even connect via the supplied USB cable. Bluetooth connection is standard and we have had no issues with dropouts etc.
The sound is good and goes quite loud, it does though lack a deep bass but I wasn’t expecting this, it’s certainly not a tinny sound, just be aware though that if looking for something with a deep bassy punch you may need to look elsewhere.
As you probably know you can clip this to the top or bottom of a monitor, I have tried it on my laptop screen and whilst it worked well I preferred the aesthetics of just having it on the desk at the side of me.
Definitely a decent speak that will be a good addition to any PC, laptop or tablet etc

Well made, good sound and design has decluttered my desk..
I bought this single speaker to replace the two twin speakers that came with my PC, which had a very limited and tinny sound. I am thoroughly impressed with this single speaker. It clips below my monitor, delivering the sound much closer to me, which is definitely beneficial. The clip simply attaches to the bottom of the monitor.

This can also be used as a freestanding device if you cannot adhere it to a monitor or prefer the sound to be positioned in another place. The sound is very good and clear, and it is definitely better than the additional speakers that came with my PC.

It also declutters my desk, which I am extremely pleased about, as there are always too many wires and things on my desk surface. So, this is just another device that gets up and out of the way. I’m really pleased with this speaker, and I would recommend it to others who would like a clutter-free desk and better sound quality with a single device.

    Ideal for my older ears
I like this soundbar; it’s ideal for my choices of music, although I might have liked a little more bass. Outside of music, I can use it for calls with a team at my computer or for listening to podcasts when the speech is clear and easy to follow. I’ve seen similar products at a much higher price but this is ideal for me when at my desk

    Great Speake
I’ve gone through a lot of smaller speakers for my computer but they always seem to have some issue with them but I think I’ve finally settled on one with this.

I’ve had no issue with it at all, it’s plug and play and all you need to do is plug it in and it should automatically select the right device. Unfortunately, the base of my monitor is too wide for it to clip on to (the clip does have quite a bit of range to it, it’s entirely my display) but it clipped onto the side no problem.

The sound quality is very good in my opinion and it has quite a bit of volume. I’ve not had any popping or crackling so I’m very happy with it. With that said, I do generally wear headphones so this is more of a tool for when I don’t but I’ve found it good enough that I spend a lot more time with the speaker.

I used it on Windows 10 however I have just done the update to Windows 11 and it works on both, as you’d expect.

I think aesthetically it’s also very smart. There’s no RGB lighting but I personally prefer that.

The one thing I wasn’t too fond of is the clip is quite powerful, of course it needs to be but it adds quite a bit of pressure to the rim where you clip it.

    Pro’s

    – Easy to clip on

    – Versatile with both a USB A and USB C adapter.

    – Decent sound quality

    – Above average volume levels, quite loud for its size.

    – Smart looking.

    – Very easy to set up. Works out the box.

    – Easy to access function buttons

    Cons

    – The clip has a lot of pressure, especially the wider it goes.

    – Limited function buttons

For 18.99 I’m very happy with it, I think it’s a reasonable price and there aren’t many downsides to it. I can easily recommend this one.

Decent soundbar for replacing laptop audio
This sound bar is okay. In many instances, I imagine it would be better than built-in laptop or monitor speakers, but it does fall a little short in the economy sound scene. Not to say that the soundbar is bad, but the sound is not exactly going to blow you away. However, it does make a good option for a speaker that you can carry around in your laptop bag. I kind of base my review rating on that use case scenario, which in that sense, makes it a really good sound bar option.

If upright, left is right and right is lef
This is a surprisingly punchy speaker, which gets both power and audio through the computer’s USB port, so it’s not just a speaker, it’s also effectively a USB sound card.

On the top it has three buttons; two are volume controls, the middle one is marked as a “play” button but on a Mac (at least one viewing YouTube) it just mutes the speaker. The computer doesn’t realise it’s muted, but it is.

On the bottom it’s got a spring clip which doubles as a stand. It can either clip to the top of a laptop screen, where it has a gap between the two front “legs” to allow for a webcam, or can rest on the floor.

Also in the box: a USB 3.0 Type-C to Type-A adapter so you can plug the speakers into a USB-C port, and – something I’ve never seen packaged in purchased goods before – a missing person notice.

I’ve seen power consumption peak at just over 8 watts, obviously this depends on whether the device you’ve plugged it into is prepared to dole out enough current to do this consistently.

Something of note: if it’s upright (buttons uppermost) the left and right channels are the wrong way round, confirmed by viewing a YouTube video which has very distinct left and right channel content and comparing with the same video run through the laptop’s own speakers. To get sound the right way round it needs to be mounted buttons downward, e.g. on the lower edge of a monitor or the front edge of a laptop docking stand.

One thing to watch for is that it’s not just detected as a speaker. The “USB2.0 Device” device (that’s literally what it calls itself) is also picked up as a microphone – even though it doesn’t have one – and Windows switches to this dummy mic automatically. If using this loudspeaker for conferencing or calling remember to switch the microphone input back to a working one.

    Good sound!
Surprisingly good for a small unit. Good bass, which I like. Plugged it in and went straight to YouTube to listen to a familiar song as a test. It was good!

I love that it’s simple USB connected. After plugging in I went to my settings and the computer had already detected it and defaulted to it. So easy!

Obviously it’s not going to sound like big booming speakers but for a computer soundbar, it’s excellent.

Decent for basic use - more worthy if attaching to a monitor is your main focus
This ADELGO USB speaker is a neat concept. It has a clasp at the back that allows it to be clipped onto the bottom (or top I’d imagine) of your monitor. The clasp opens in a V-shape but is rubberised so it should grip on fine to thinner monitors. The speaker can be inverted where the clasp works as a stand – it’s this orientation I used mainly for testing.

It’s purely a USB speaker i.e. audio data AND power – there’s no 3.5 jack etc. Plugging this into a Windows PC will give you an additional sound output device.

Audio quality is bright and clear and can go very loud, surprisingly. Unsurprisingly – there isn’t much bass. When listening to music drums have a satisfying thump but there’s not much overall bass presence.

Personally – if you have room for standard speakers I think there are better options available for the current asking price (16.99). If space is at a premium or you’re just listening to YouTube content etc. then this is pretty worthwhile.

    Superb sound
To say I’m amazed at the quality of this speaker would be an understatement. Whilst it may be diminutive in size, it packs a powerful punch, producing clear sound with excellent depth and frequency range. Even at high volume (this is very loud) sound is clear and undistorted.

I tested this with my PC, and the sound was exceptionally good, and better than the current Bluetooth one (which is considerably larger) I’m using. It’s plug and play, so simply plug into a USB port (standard A or C using the adapter), and can be used with a phone or tablet equally.

The speaker feels quite substantial, weighty, and very well-made. There are volume up and down buttons on top, as well as a mute button. The speaker has a (soft-grip) clip for attaching to a laptop, or underneath a monitor. However, the jaw doesn’t open widely enough to clip under my Acer monitors, but that isn’t an issue.

Overall, this sucker punches well above its weight. Full, deep and rich sound, with bass belying its size, and equally full, clear high frequency notes as well. I really can’t recommend this highly enough, and at this price it’s a steal.

Great speakers, plug and play with Windows 10/11 and iOS
This small soundbar sure does have loud sound! Far better quality than laptop speakers for sure.

Whilst it’s not bassy, it does have a tiny bit of kick to it, and it can get very loud. There was no distortion or strange sounds whilst using this – music, movies and games sounded nice and clear, EXCEPT for when adjusting the volume in Windows 11. The sound effect for adjusting volume produce a strange distorted sound through these speakers. Only the volume sound effect did this, nothing else.

It came with a USB-C adapter, so out of curiosity I connected it to my iPad Pro and it detected it straight away – I was able to use it like any other speaker connected to the iPad, brilliant!

There’s three buttons on this device, two for volume control and one for play/pause which worked great with my PC and iPad.

The clamps work great on my ultrawide monitor, but I only had the option to mount it to the top of the monitor, as the monitor controls sit at the bottom of my screen and get pressed when this speaker is placed there.

Great speaker for those using laptops, or those with PC’s that don’t have any external speakers. Even those that just want better sound out of their USB-C compatible phone/tablet.

    Cheap and Cheerful
his little speaker is surprising good for what it is connected via USB, and clips to the top of the monitor, it can also stand on its own, the sound is better than my laptop speakers but not as good as my stereo speakers, but it is perfectly good enough to listen to music or watching film with no problems, overall for the price, it is exactly what I expected, I would recommend.

    Surprisingly good
Here we have a USB speaker from ADELGO, designed primarily to be clipped to the top/bottom or side of your monitor or screen. It will also rest nicely on your desk if needed.

It comes with a built-in USB cable. The length should be sufficient to reach the back of your PC, or the side of a laptop. It reaches a port on the top of my gaming PC tower with no issues. You also get a USB to USB-C adapter in the box.

The speaker is plug and play, and was detected right away. Controls on the speaker are pretty straightforward with volume up and down and mute buttons. Attaching it to your monitor is quite simply with a clip style back that opens quite wide, with soft lining on the inside.

The product listing states 5 Watt, listing photos state 10 watt — as does the packaging. What I can say is that this speaker can go pretty loud.

The sound is actually pretty good. Load up a track that you know sounds great in stereo (Space oddity is a good example) and the speaker will reproduce a decent stereo effect sound. Sound is pretty clear with good treble and bass.

Where things start to go wrong is at higher volume where everything begins to get a bit “tinny”. What I would say though is that if you keep the speaker at a reasonable volume then sound will be quite clear and detailed.

This speaker is an ideal option if you are relying on built-in laptop speakers, want something easy to take around with you or are lacking desktop space.

For 16.99 (at time of review) I’m going to say that this speaker is well worth a look and probably punches above its price tag.

Nice form factor but dreadful sound quality for music and awkward controls
This is a budget price speaker. And so unfortunately, the sound quality matches it. It’s quite dreadful for music. But if only needing it for communications, podcasts, etc then the sound is very serviceable.

The form factor is the main feature as it has a strong clip-on design for the thickest of monitors (well ok, not CRTs).

The volume buttons are at the top which means they are invisible. But as there are only three buttons and the buttons are physically raised, it’s not too hard to memorise which is volume up and down by feel. Still, it is awkward.

No 5W speaker is going to sound great. The point is low power consumption and convenient placement without taking up desk space. I review this with such merits.

Very useful if you dock your laptop
I’ve been looking for something like this for a while now and this “mini soundbar” is almost everything I wanted.

As someone who connects my MacBook to a USB/HDMI dock when I’m at home, I’ve been looking for an external speaker that I can use with the laptop closed. I’ve tried various offerings that plug in via the 3.5mm jack, but I really wanted something with its own DAC that connected only via USB-C.

This speaker does that and it has some pretty good sound quality too. In fact, my only major complaint is that it just lacks a little bit of bass. It’s great for speech, Zoom calls, etc., and it does work Ok for casual music listening, but I’d love just a bit more bass. One thing it does have is plenty of volume, and it easily goes loud enough to fill a room, but that lack of full bass means you’re probably not going to be using it for any parties. One good thing is that the volume buttons are linked directly to the system volume, so you can control that with the OS volume control if you prefer.

My only other minor gripe is that the clip doesn’t fit the profile of my monitor, and I worry that even if it did, the spring is strong enough that it might damage the screen. Thankfully, it stands up on its own quite nicely and doesn’t look too bad sat under the monitor.

Compact and loud. USB-C adapter doesn’t work
The issue I have with built-in speakers on monitors is I find they lack volume and bass. The speakers are usually rear-projected and have a rather tinny sound to them. This small USB speaker solves that by providing a forward-projected sound output with a good level of sound equalisation. Power is provided by the USB socket so there is no additional power requirements to worry about and there is no noticeable delay between the sound and the visuals on the screen.

At first I thought the speaker was not functional, or maybe wasn’t compatible with the Mac, but it turns out the USB-C adapter didn’t work. Trying a different USB-A to USB-C adapter sorted this so I was able to get it working. A good product for the price even if I needed to source a different adapter.

    Very loud, decent sound quality.
Overall, I’m pleased with these speakers. The sound quality is good, and they can go very loud.

I have a couple of gripes, though; they are designed to be mounted upside down, clipped to the bottom of a monitor. But if you want to mount them so the control buttons are on top, the stereo effect is reversed and there’s no way to swap the channels over. I’ve been through all the Windows 11 sound settings and there isn’t this facility built into the driver. The speakers are close together, so the stereo effect isn’t that pronounced, but once you know it’s wrong, it’s hard to ignore.

The other issue is that the spring-loaded gripper doesn’t open very wide. This means that it won’t attach securely, or at all, to thick monitors.

There’s no need to use the control buttons on the speakers, pressing them only replicates what happens when you click on the Windows volume control. I like this as it keeps things simple; too many independent volume controls make troubleshooting very difficult.

    Pleasantly Surprised
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this speaker. Fair a start it is the first I have tried that uses a USB connection rather than 3.5mm jack.
The speaker itself is small and not that deep all the ingredients to a lacklustre audio experience.
But that is not the case with this speaker. The first clue is the weight, it’s not got an empty feel like some small speakers have. Then there’s how it looks, it has a quality feel with a slick all black appearance.
The speaker is still plug and play and was recognised as such by windows and was available straight away. It does have controls on the top for volume and play pause but honestly I use the shortcuts anyway.
Put some you tube and you are greeted with a performance that surprises as this tiny thing goes loud. It’s not going to replace your hifi but it is a perfectly respectable speaker for on the go.
So tiny speaker with great performance at a reasonable price, got to be worth a try.

    impressive small speake
I am impressed with this small speaker. It comes in a box with a USB to USB C adaptor. I found the instructions in very small print and have still not managed to read them, it is so small I don’t have glasses strong enough to read it.

Not being able to read the instructions is a shame as I have no idea how to attach the speaker to my monitor. I have seen numerous photos of them attached but can see no way to do this. I must find a magnifying glass and see if I can read how to do this. Ok, worked it out, it is easily moved apart to clip on.

In the meantime I am using it as a stand alone speaker, and have spent the evening shuffling through music of all types as well as various vocal recordings to see how it sounds.

Music, orchestral especially is remarkably good. I can hear all the instruments clearly and they sound as they should. Choral music likewise. Single singers also sounds good.

Speech isn’t quite so good, it sounds a bit distorted, but that might be the recordings. As I never listen to speech this is not a problem to me. I loved the orchestral music, for a small speaker it was quite remarkable.

We are asked do we think it is good value for money 16.99 and I’d say yes, very much so. Especially as there is a reduction at the moment as I type.
