One usb receiver works with both keyboard and mouse! 2 in 1.
If people are having connectivity issues, please just read the instructions.
The mouse is approximately 20% smaller than a standard-sized mouse, and even though I have large hands, it still fit quite comfortably in my palm.
The keyboard is a quiet keyboard, meaning that the keys make considerably less noise than your basic, standard keyboards (think of each key press as a muffled thud, as opposed to a mechanical click/tap). I type at approximately 80 words per minute, meaning that I hit a LOT of keys when working, and subsequently generate a lot of noise (something that I am always conscious of). However, with this keyboard, I personally have noticed the reduction in the amount of noise that I produce when typing.
Both of these devices run off of batteries (included) and each sports an on/off switch, which is a nice touch. The packaging claims that they keyboard can last up to 2 years off of two AAA batteries and that the mouse can last up to 1 year off of a single AA battery and I suspect that this is based on the assumption that users will switch the devices off when they aren’t using them.
The single dual USB connector (tiny, approximately one inch at its longest point) almost instantly connects both the keyboard and mouse to your machine, with no installation required, meaning that they are ready to use pretty much immediately. This type of USB connector is often colloquially referred to as a “plug-and-forget” connector, as one can indeed plug it in to their machine and then forget that it ever exists. Even though I work from a desktop PC, this is especially useful for laptop users as it doesn’t add any extra bulk or protruding parts when you link it to your machine.
Great value set with both devices included. Highly recommend.
Good, budget keyboard & mouse
This product was sent to me to review, as part of Amazon Vine. Below is my own real-world experience of using it.
In terms of quality, both components appear to be well-made – the plastic casing has a robust feel, with a sleek finish. The keyboard has a familiar QWERTY layout, that also feels pretty ergonomic. I did spot a slight flaw with some of the ‘shortcut’ buttons – they would partly stick in the keyboard, when pressed, and I would have to lightly tap them, to make them pop out again. The mouse, whilst it is compact, it’s not the most comfortable to hold in the hand – it feels like half of the hand is empty, causing some strain.
Setting up was very straightforward – simply plug and play, using the USB receiver which can be found under the mouse’s battery cover (it’s cleverly hidden, which also means that it’s not immediately obvious where to find it, on opening the box). Handily, batteries are also included for both items. As a long-time user of Amazon Basics batteries, I can attest to their longevity, since I have used them with lots of devices prior.
Both devices operate with little to no lag, whilst the keyboard also offers the useful aforementioned shortcuts, which I even found to work with my Chromebook (you can open the calculator, emails, etc.). I did find that the ‘num lock’ key wouldn’t work, but that may be a quirk of using it with a Chromebook, rather than, say, a Windows PC.
In summary, a good value pack that is ideal for a home office.
Excelle
Over the last few years I’ve purchased 3 Logitech combos only to find the keyboard failed. The mouse still worked but without the keyboard it’s useless. So after the last Logitech fail I decided to go for the cheaper combo. The keyboard hasn’t got quite as nice a feel but it’s perfectly good and the mouse is fine. I don’t know if the life of these will be longer but at least they would be much cheaper to replace.
I recommend this combo.
My favourite wireless keyboard & mouse that I have used to date
The portability of these two (kb / mouse) is amazing and they work instantaneously when the little on-off switches are pushed (or if they were already on). Completely plug and play, I had a working keyboard and mouse anywhere in the room as soon as the little wireless dongle was in a USB slot in my computer. Both are very responsive and latency free, which is what I have come to expect with modern wireless devices (non-bluetooth). I like that batteries are included and they do have good battery life too in that the devices don’t seem to go through batteries fast. I prefer that format over built in batteries, I have previously mentioned on other reviews for wireless peripherals – product life span is going to be longer as a result. Value wise the offering for this set is unbelievably good. Very happy with the experience I have had using this keyboard and mouse over the past month.
Can't go wrong at that price!
amazing value keyboard and mouse amazon also chuck in some batteries in so you can plug into the computer and you are off its that simple definitely recommend this one if you need something you use now and again.
