This has been beat up a bit in the reviews. I guess the fit is a little tight but I've had zero issues with mine. Have around 100 hours on them now. Would buy again.

Good replacements
These do the job well but are quite hard to fit – the measurements don’t seem quite as accurate as they could be – but once fitted they are comfortable and seem secure.
Great for stopping me causing damage to our house!
These are comfortable and really easy to set up on my controllers and easy to use.
No more worrying that I’m going to accidentally fling the controller across the room and hit who knows what!
Hält was es versprich
Not bad
A bit pricey for what they are and a bit fiddly to get on but they do fit. Definitely a game changer from the factory supplied ones. Comfortable and holds the controllers very well.
Pretty good
These work on a simple premise – they replace the factory attached to the end of the battery box with a velcro adjustable strap.
The strap feels nice and snug and you can adjust it.
It’s a much better solution than the complete cover for the controllers you can also get.
However, I’ve been using them for a while now (particularly Beat Saber)
On the positive, the definitely stop me losing the controller out of my hand when playing vigorous games.
On the negative, they have a bit of a tendency to slip down and this can be distracting. I have possible adjusted them too tight, we will see.
Very effective minimalist grip with more benefits than others but with new flaws
I have several grips for my Quest 3 all of which have a complete cover over the controller. All have the same problem. They all make taking the battery in and out a chore and I do this every session because I found that the batteries actually continue losing charge when remining in the controllers between sessions. Also, its extra hassle when I need to use game specific adapters like a table tennis paddle adapter. And sometimes the controller covers hinder the sensor at the bottom of the controller despite having a cut out for it.
This is the first solution that I have tried where the hand grip is only attached to the battery door cover. On paper, this is an absolutely perfect solution, because I don’t have to worry about the sensor at the bottom of the controller being covered up or obstructed, I can continue taking the batteries out with relative ease. And I can swap to a game specific adapter more easily.
This perfect solution on paper doesn’t quite translate to perfection in practice but for the most part it does perform well and will now be my primary grip to use when I am not needing game specific adapters.
So, all of the above benefits I have listed, applies brilliantly in practice. But this implementation has a sacrifice. I cannot have my wrist strap on as a backup contingency if somehow the grip ever fails and controller flies out of my hand. I have always taken comfort in my other grips that if somehow they fail, I still have the wrist strap on simultaneously as a failsafe. With this, not possible.
The above concern is amplified by the fact that the battery cover door does not click in as smoothly as the stock cover. If you notice in my pictures, the cover door protrudes slightly. This is because the cover does not slide all the way in. It does however, “click” in. That’s important as the door is locked and not loose. It’s just that it’s not smooth.
But it does feel secure enough for me to use and take that “gamble”. Perhaps just don’t have your 100inch TV or partner in front of you to be safe.
During gaming sessions of Dungeons of Eternity (a huge workout for the controller), it felt absolutely great.
So, I love this solution, it’s almost very best solution…I would have just like it to incorporate the wrist strap as a failsafe and to be more assuring in its door fitting.
Good
Fantastic VR crops for quest 3
Easy to use and install comes with adjustable knuckles
Great set to have to replace your old ones
Not bad on price but could be a little cheaper
Comfort in your hands are good
I recommend
Enhances grip and comfo
Diving into virtual reality often meant dealing with controllers slipping at the worst moments until I found these grips. The difference in how securely they fit in my hands is noticeable, especially during longer sessions where comfort becomes paramount. The installation was straightforward, and the design cleverly avoids hindering sensor detection, which was a relief. They’ve held up well to regular use, not once feeling like they might detach or loosen.
Easy to fit, secure, but maybe not suitable for vigorous playing
I like these grips, they are fitted by replacing the battery cover and sliding out the safety loop and fitting a metal loop that engages with the strap.
The strap itself is slightly elasticated, so can be made a snug fit without feeling restricted, this also makes removing the strap from your hand a little easier.
The plastic battery cover replacement has the strap exit from the top end through a slot cut into the plastic. the strap itself is secured with a screw and hook on the inside of the cover. The end of the strap has a loop created with hook & loop fasteners for adjustment to fit the hand.
I don’t like the removal of the safety loop very much, although it can be ‘fiddled’ through the metal loop, which works, but looks unwieldy. (hence the 4 stars given)
It is good, but if one of my grandkids wished to play some of the more active games, I’d be tempted to remove this strap assembly during their use.
As a ‘grown-up’ I’m allegedly sensible enough to assess the risk…
My favourite so far. Really comfortable, easy to fit and use, don't interfere with gameplay.
These controller straps are a big upgrade over the stock wrist lanyards, and I prefer them to the the silicone case type. They do have some minor shortcomings, but I’ll definitely be keeping them on my controllers.
It’s not immediately obvious from the listing how these work. Long story short, you take off the stock battery cover and slide out the wrist lanyard. You then slide in a loop where the lanyard went, and fit a replacement battery cover with a woven strap attached to it. Thread the strap through the loop, stick it to itself with the velcro, and off you go. Takes longer to read than it takes to do.
Some reviewers have commented on the textured surface of the replacement cover. They are correct in some ways – it doesn’t add much in the way of grip. It doesn’t need to, though – there’s a strap attaching the controller to your hand, so it’s not going anywhere. The pattern is mostly decorative, and I have no issue with it.
As other reviewers have noted, the replacement covers are not quite a perfect fit, nor are they a perfect colour match. However, they are very, very close. So close that it makes no difference in use, and it’s really not an issue – see my pictures.
The security of the strap more than makes up for the slightly iffy fit of the cover. I’ve tried a few different strap systems on my Quest 2 and my Quest 3, and I like these the best. The straps are very soft and slightly stretchy webbing, so they wrap snugly around your hand and move with it. I find the silicone ones can be quite stiff, and they force the controller into an unnatural position. These let you put the controller exactly where you want it, and it stays there. I can open my hand completely, and when I close it again, the controller is in exactly the right place. For setting up PCVR games, where you often need to type or change settings on-screen, this is mega-useful – you can do it without having to put the controller down, or leaving it dangling from your wrist.
Because the controller isn’t in a case or cover, it’s still exactly the same size as stock. I like this, as it means the buttons fall exactly where I’m used to them being. I have quite big hands, and I find the Quest 3’s controllers to be just right. However, if you prefer a ‘fatter’ grip, a silicone cover might be a better choice.
The only negative for me is that the wrist strap isn’t compatible with my pistol accessory – the loop on the bottom won’t go through hole in the grip intended for the lanyard. I’ll probably modify my pistol grip, as the strap is something I don’t want to do without. In the meantime, it takes seconds to swap from the strap back to the stock lanyard.
Highly recommended, I really like these.
Imprescindible
Easy to install and great quality. Loved the textured desig
Really liked the packaging. Easy to install and great quality. Loved the textured design of the battery cover and the Velcro strap was great. It was really tight to install so with mega heavy use I wonder if it would come detached from the controller but with normal use it will be fine.
Great grips for the quest 3
I’ve tried a few different sets of controller grips for the quest 3 now and these are my favourite. They are super comfortable with no sharp edges. The velcro is a good length (not too short that you worry or too long that you keep catching it) and fixes securely.
The only issue is that the battery doors aren’t a perfect fit. Mine did fit with a little persuasion but they could definitely be better.
This issue aside I would still recommend them.

Nice Mod to Quest 3 Controllers - Comfortable and Secure in Use
The Meta Quest 3 VR Headset is a terrific product, but as it comes many consider it’s let done by some of the peripherals such as the head strap, face cover, and controllers. This is where the aftermarket comes in, providing niche products to modify or enhance functionality of the headset.
This Appexinno Quest 3 VR grips focusses on the controllers. The stock item works fine, but the strap provided hangs off your wrist, and essentially forces you to hold the controllers all the time — often in an unnatural position compared to the virtual situation. These grips aim to provide a means of attaching controllers to your hands by knuckle straps, even when all controls are released; and to provide a more natural feel.
Assembling is fairly straight forward; the product is essentially a replacement of the Meta original battery cover on each controller to add a grip knuckle strap. The accompanied photographs show the steps involved, but the key is to slide out the original wrist strap from the bottom of the battery compartment, and replace this with the lower part of the wrist grip strap. It is essential to firmly close the new battery compartment, otherwise there is a risk of this dismantling during vigorous VR action. In this respect the replacement grip appears up to the job. The white colour of the grips’ battery cover slightly differs from the rest of the case, but this is barely noticeable. There is some texture on the plastic to discourage sliding in use, but not to the level of rubber.
There are two prime solutions for upgrading Quest 3 stock controllers. A complete rubber case with built in new battery compartment which changes the tactile feel of the controller, or this one where a new battery case is provided to facilitate the inclusion of a knuckle strap. Having tried them both, there is a much to commend this Apexinno product. They match the headset, and are easier to get on and off the hands rapidly when required, and provides a succinct way of getting the required straps. They are also very comfortable is use, and feel secure. The included plastic case is ideal for stowing your old battery covers and wrist straps, should they be needed in the future.
Overall meriting a five-star review assessment.
Best alternative to the original active straps
Those straps are the best alternative to the original active straps. They’re really comfortable to use, easy to adjust, and the build quality is good.
With those straps, I can fit my hand in the same way as I can with the original ones. Most of the knuckle straps are attached too low, but those are perfect.
As they cost a bit less than half of the originals, I would recommend them to anyone.
Wonderful
I wonder why Meta doesn’t supply controller grips like this with the Quest rather than the nearly useless wrist straps? It would make sense. These are so much more secure. They have adjustable straps that wrap around your hand as tightly as you want to make them. There will be no chance of getting absolutely immersed in a game and ending up throwing the controller across the room!!
The grips are easy to install, take off the original battery cover, replace it with the one with the new grip and you are good to go. What is also great is that no matter who uses the controller, be it a child or a man, the grips are easy to adjust, with no fuss, and no bother.
The best knuckle grips out there
These grips are the best I’ve ever come across. They are battery covers with a strap attached. The straps are slightly stretchy ribbed cloth, and the velcro very strong. They don’t add weight or thickness to the controllers, which is good for me as I have small hands. They keep the controllers firmly in place when playing Beat Saber and Smash Drums. All other types of controller grips are made of silicone and the velcro doesnt last long. Ive been using these flat out and they are the best by far. Well worth the money. I highly recommend .
They were a little slow to ship, but delivered quickly once they were.
great grip
These seem to work well so far.
The design makes it hard to put on and they don’t snap in place perfectly
But otherwise, they work well and are comfortable.
Probably more than some of the more expensive ones that have a buckle pressing against the back of your hand.
Great grips
From the start I really like these grips.
They feel great and well built.
They go on my pro controllers very nicely.
The bands work well if you find a good position on your hands (this would vary per person) and adjust the bands to be snug but not tight.
If you tighten them it will pull the Silicon case away from the controller and you may have issues with the cameras.
Keeping them tight enough to not fall off and loose enough to not deform the case is kind of key.
If you have larger hands, like myself, this also is needed so your thumb can more easily reach the menu/quest buttons.
i found the best placement for me was with the strap directly on top of my knuckles with a slight bias toward the hands to make sure they wouldn’t slip off.
Other than that. They are nice
These really are grea
The Meta Quest 3 controllers are a little different from some other VR/MR controllers as they are handled almost like the Wii controller of old only these are not square. This gives maximum freedom of movement, but does mean they can move around in your hand, and suddenly at a vital game point, the button isn’t where you expected it to be. This is because the trigger and grip buttons are easy to access at a wide degree of angles in your hand but the A/B, X/Y buttons are not. That is where this strap comes in. It can be used loosely to make sure that in your excitement, or fear you accidently launch the controller from your hand into grannie’s cup of tea. Or you can tighten the strap to keep the controller exactly where you want it to be. It is really easy to fit, you just remove the original battery cover, remove the original lanyard cord. Then replace the lanyard cord with the new controller buckle and place the new battery cover. I’ve just looked at what I have written and it makes it sound complex, but it is really not. Once done, store the original battery cover and lanyard somewhere safe (just in case you want to use them again). Then you are ready to go. Using most storage systems, it shouldn’t affect storing the controllers and actually might make it easier. Have fu
Comfortable Alternative for VR Controller Grip
The APEXINNO VR Controller Grips provide a viable alternative to the default loose straps, offering users a chance to customize their VR experience with a tighter grip around the hand.
The Velcro on these straps seems robust and securely fastens the controllers to your hands. It’s a practical feature for those who prefer a more secure feel during VR sessions. The adjustable active knuckle straps add an extra layer of customization, allowing users to find the right fit for their hands.
However, when it comes to protection, I’m not entirely convinced that these straps offer better safeguarding compared to the default ones. The way you hold the controllers might not significantly impact the level of protection provided. It’s worth noting that the primary advantage seems to be the personalized feel of the straps against your hand.
Ultimately, the decision to switch to these grips comes down to personal preference. If you enjoy a tighter and more secure grip during your VR sessions, these straps might be a good fit for you. On the other hand, if you are comfortable with the default straps and don’t find them lacking, the APEXINNO VR Controller Grips might not offer a substantial upgrade.
In conclusion, these grips are a solid alternative for those seeking a different feel in their VR experience. While the level of protection may be subjective, the customizable fit and secure Velcro make these straps a worthy consideration for users looking to enhance their VR controller grip.
APEXINNO VR Controller Grips: Elevating the Quest 3 Experience
The APEXINNO VR Controller Grips are not just accessories; they are the secret sauce that takes the Meta Quest 3 experience to a whole new level. Trust me, the 5-star rating isn’t just a number—it’s a testament to the exceptional grip and high-quality feel these grips bring to the table.
Strapping these bad boys on feels like shaking hands with precision and control. It’s not just about playing; it’s about feeling the game. And the best part? The battery cover replacement. No more silicone cases that feel like an extra layer. It’s a seamless transition that adds a touch of elegance to the whole experience.
These grips aren’t just accessories; they’re the missing link that bridges the virtual and the real. It’s the kind of upgrade that transforms a gaming session into an adventure. APEXINNO, you’ve nailed it, giving us more than just controller grips — you’ve given us an immersive journey. Here’s to reaching new heights in the virtual realm!
Simple but Effective
After getting my Quest 3 I bought some grips, though of the variety that slides over the controllers. They were fine although I always had the feeling they made it slightly more difficult to reach the trigger button.
Along came these knuckle straps from APEXINNO and that issue is now gone (hurrah!). They arrived in a little clear plastic box with a metal clasp that replaces the wrist strap (I didn’t even realise that came out until these arrived) and the replacement battery cover with strap.
They were a little fiddly to get in initially as the cover didn’t seem to want to click into place as easily as the original cover, but with a little bit of extra effort they were in and flush. My hands are quite large and I had no problem getting a good fit and they are comfortable in use.
The colour doesn’t quite match the controllers but that may be intentional as they have a slightly reflective design, which can be seen in the store page images.
At the current price of 16.99 I would say they are bordering on expensive for what you actually get but that’s just my opinion and the same can probably be said for a lot of VR accessories. They are an improvement on my previous grips though so I’m not complaining.
These seem to work well so far. The design makes it hard to put on and they don't snap in place perfectly (see some other reviews). But otherwise, they work well and are comfortable. Probably more than some of the more expensive ones that have a buckle pressing against the back of your hand. They're a great value for the price. I'd get them again.

Great straps with one issue
The straps are great and keep your controls still in your hands. The issue I have with them is that the measurements are all slightly off. The cases are hard to fit on and move when pressed. Great for half the price of meta’s ones.
