Perfect for kiddos
I’m thrilled to share my thoughts on CRAYOLA Colored Pencils Art Tools!
These colored pencils have been an absolute joy to use for my art projects and adult coloring books. With a generous count of 50 vibrant colors, they offer a wide range of options to let your creativity flow.
What sets CRAYOLA apart is the quality of their pencils. The colors are rich and vibrant, and they blend smoothly on paper, making shading and blending a breeze. The leads are sturdy, so you don’t have to worry about constant sharpening. Plus, they’re non-toxic, which is a big plus for peace of mind.
The color selection is fantastic, catering to a wide spectrum of artistic needs. Whether you’re working on intricate details or bold, colorful designs, these pencils have you covered.
I also appreciate the durability of the packaging. The sturdy box keeps all 50 pencils organized and protected. It’s a small detail, but it makes a big difference in keeping your art supplies in top condition.
In summary, CRAYOLA Colored Pencils Art Tools are a fantastic addition to any artist’s toolkit. They’re reliable, versatile, and a joy to work with. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just looking for some creative relaxation, these pencils won’t disappoint. Happy coloring!
Good value
Bought these for my mother who likes to colour in.
Had been using cheap ones that kept breaking.
These ones have a soft lead which
Is better.
Crayola never lets you dow
I like this color pencils : they have vivid colors, how i like them. However, the silver and gold pencils were not included. For me it’s not a big deal, because if we mix certain colors, we can create the silver and golden effects, but this fact should be in the description so future buyers know these colors are not inclued in the package. The pencils are more resistant to the sharpeners and in my opinion, have better quality than most color pencils and the price is acessible
Received these pencils in perfect condition, no damage to box or pencils and gold and silver included. Pencils all perfect, sharpened a few and they were fine. Great selection of colours. Happy customer, excellent for the price.
Childhood nostalgia is justifiable but the quality is lacking. .
A good introduction to coloured pencils for those just getting started with colored pencils as a more adult art medium instead of just for colouring books. It doesn’t hurt that everybody knows that familiar Crayola name from their childhood so there’s a certain amount of nostalgia mixed in upon purchasing. The pencils have decent colours, but some of the colours within this pack don’t actually appear to be their advertised colour from the labels when used and can be extremely brittle to sharpen with multiple broken leads immediately out of the box which soured my experience.
I bought these for myself – a 48 year old crafter – as I love Crayola pencils as they are soft and blend well. I find these do last well and have taught my children not to let pencils drop off the table when using them so the leads don’t split. This set has a good selection of colours, not just the usual “bright” set. I use the white pencil for marking fabric when I’m quilting. You can fit all 50 pencils easily into the Really Useful box (21cmx10cm) for easy storage at home too.
Lovely pencils - recommend
Love Crayola pencils. They are soft but not messy, have a deep vibrant colour and this pack is amazing value. 48 different shade plus a Natalie silver and gold, which was a happy surprise. I colour with my care clients and these are strong and reliable.
Perfect, I’m so happy with them I’m writing a review specially. I was a bit worried about getting them as some other reviews showed the pencils didn’t have a metallic gold or silver, which isn’t a big deal as I didn’t particularly want those colours – more that it woukd indicate some dishonesty or interference with product. Happy to say they arrived perfect, all unbroken. I tested a couple and they’re all even better for texture and pigment than the same colours in the Crayola 24 pack I already had. Really nice, lots and lots of colours, amazingly cheap.
Worth the money
Most have a good intense colour, they sharpen without breaking which is always a bonus! A small number of colours are faint no matter how many times you go over them.
Overall decent.
Good pencils but need a lot of pressure
And very tiring to use because of that. However, Crayola makes nice bright pencils available to all, and not just to those with the budget to afford elite brands This is a very important public service, hence 4 stars.
Arrived before the original date given. Box was taped like said in other reviews and was a little ripped on the back but all the crayons were perfectly fine so guessing the tape was the stop them falling out although dont know about the rip.
Received all the colours on the back of the box except bronze. I received tan instead. The box was in a different language (French and another that I dont recognise) but the crayons have English on them.
I did the sheet in the order on the back of the box. Like any crayola crayons they work well and I cant complain about the quality.
Great Colours
Buying pencils from a name like Crayola you would expect them to be good………and these are. Really bright colours and with the inclusion of the metallic colours, well, my little girls went crazy! I am close to overload with shiny unicorn pictures and golden fairies. I am hoping that they will survive where others haven’t and not end up with leads shattered in so many places sharpening is a pointless (did you see what I did there) exercise. The price was also great for so many pencils.
I purchased the coloured pencils from crayola range as I used them as a child and remember them well ! Unfortunately when I opened the package there was only 47 pencils instead of 50 . Still kept them as too much hassle to return and I do like . Would of got a 5 star if someone had counted properly .
Can't fault them :)
I’ve recently gone on a colouring pencil rampage and bought.. a lot of pencils. These are fantastic, they do the job. They have a strong nib, none have broken and I’ve had them for a few days. A good amount of pigment, nice and vibrant shades. I was really pleased to see they came with a gold silver and bronze 😀 Good for both children and adults who enjoy a bit o’ colouring like myself.
Should have bought several boxes!
What can I say? I love Crayola colored pencils. Forget the marketing is aimed at kids, these pencils actually have a great range of colors, they lay down well on most papers, and sharpen to a great point. They’re not without their faults…they’re hard pencils so they can break easily if handled too roughly or if you’re using a dull sharpener…but for the price, you can’t beat their other great qualities. Love them. I can’t find the larger boxes of colors in the shops so I’m thrilled to find the 50 pack on Amazon. Should have bought several boxes!
... student grade pencils for the price with a very good range of colours
These are decent student grade pencils for the price with a very good range of colours. If you are into adult colouring these pencils are good enough for beginners, however if you really want to blend your colours and take your colouring to another level, a much softer artist grade pencil is better. I have been using these crayolas and was happy enough with them, however my husband gave me a set of artist grade pencils and they have been a revelation! The crayolas have gone to a friend, together with a colouring book to get her started. I am sure she will have hours of colouring pleasure with the crayolas until she is ready to step up to an artist grade pencil.
I’ve just started using the colouring books for adults (hoping to help lower my stress levels) and had bought a smaller pack of these from the supermarket. I’m really enjoying losing myself and being creative at the same time so did a quick search on Amazon for a bigger pack, found these and ordered them. To be honest I was so distracted by the great price I hadn’t noticed they were coming from overseas and was a bit disappointed when I saw how long the estimated delivery was. However, I needn’t have worried as they arrived in a fraction of the time they’d given and as expected from a crayola product they’re great quality, sharpen well and give excellent coverage. I only have one tiny niggle and that’s there aren’t enough shades of purple but as they’re such a super product I’m not giving any less than five stars.
Got these at the same time as a set of Faber-Castell Polychromos for 1/4 of the price just as a comparison. While they may not be quite in the same league they are not far off and they are certainly far better than any of the other cheaper varieties. The leads are hard enough not to wear down too quickly and soft enough to lay down some decently thick colours. Had no broken leads either so they have been stored and shipped with care. Just make sure you use a good sharpener, I prefer the windy helical blade type (Swordfish) which gives a very fine point. My wife has nabbed these so the kids will have to make do with the “Pound Shop” ones.
Much better than expected!
I have more expensive pencils (Bic Conte and Derwent Academy) but ordered these so that I would have a wider range of colours. I am really surprised by how brilliant they are! Vibrant colours, excellent for blending, easy to sharpen and absolutely an essential purchase for those of us into colouring and drawing. The range of colours is comprehensive with the full pencil the same colour as the lead for quick and easy selection.
My only slight criticism is that the box falls apart very quickly so you really need a pencil case to store them in.
….well… 46 …to be precise…along with ‘Black’, ‘White’, ‘Silver’ & ‘Gold’!
They arrived impeccably packed for transit in 4 days, in my case, the order being fulfilled by Amazon.
Despite the years rolling by, and recent trials of coloured pencils in all shapes and sizes, I still love these from Crayola.
Back in the old days I found them to be the most popular choice with budding artists who had moved well beyond the ‘red, blue, green, yellow’ stage and really appreciated the extended selection of shades of colour offered by this box, akin to the array of sweetie jars in ye olde sweet shoppe and often spoilt for choice!
From the back of the colourful box, which measures around 18.5 cm x 17.5 cm x 1.5 cm (American spelling):
‘Crayola is dedicated to ensuring kids use every bit of their creative potential. That’s why our Colored Pencils are long-lasting and come in a variety of brilliant colours. Crayola Colored Pencils unleash the power of kids’ imaginations!’
The colours I received are as follows and are, I believe, those which are usually supplied in the regular cardboard box of 50 (as listed on the back of the box):
* RASPBERRY
* MAROON
* RED
* RED ORANGE
* ORANGE
* LIGHT ORANGE
* YELLOW ORANGE
* MANGO
* GOLDEN YELLOW
* YELLOW
* LEMON YELLOW
* LIME GREEN
* YELLOW GREEN
* JADE GREEN
* GREEN
* PINE GREEN
* TEAL
* GREEN BLUE
* AQUA GREEN
* TURQUOISE
* SKY BLUE
* CERULEAN
* LIGHT BLUE
* BLUE
* NAVY BLUE
* VIOLET (PURPLE)
* ORCHID
* MAUVE
* PALE ROSE
* PINK
* MAGENTA
* BUBBLEGUM
* SALMON
* PEACH
* LIGHT BROWN
* MAHOGANY
* BROWN
* DARK BROWN
* TAUPE
* SAND
* TAN
* HARVEST GOLD
* BRONZE YELLOW
* GOLD
* SILVER
* GRAY
* COOL GRAY
* SLATE
* BLACK
* WHITE
Having said that, there is the usual disclaimer in small print on the box:
* ‘Contents and colors may vary’.
Each pencil measures around 17.5 cm and comes ready to use.
With gold embossment including the full name of the colour the rounded barrels are self-coloured so it is easy to grab the one you want without further ado – although, having said that, the cardboard box doesn’t last long with young, impatient hands, so I transfer mine to a sturdy tub for such events.
Considering the relative thickness of the leads they sharpen to a reasonable point (but not lethal) easily with a quality manual sharpener, when required, and a single layer of colour is strong, especially on the darker colours, due to their relative softness.
Arguably, they do wear down quicker than other brands, which are more expensive, but at about 16 pence a pencil, (at the time of writing), I still find them great value for money. I have not had any problem with the leads breaking, either in the sharpening process or under fair pressure when applying colour, in this current set, which I have been using on & off for a couple of months to test their durability.

I have a new box, hidden away, just in case the box of 50 disappears from all retail outlets again, because these have been VERY hard to find!
Other sizes of box available, including the short-length 64 selection , with even more shades for a day of colouring in .
