    Bang for th buck
The most reliable controller I could get for the price from a brand I’ve been using for a while. Works out of the box without any update.

Be aware that instructions for pairing are not clear in the site.

Inconvenient placement of start and select buttons, need to bend left thumb to rest on thumbstick
Molded plastic case is cool. Good thumbstick precision.

Unfortunately, the ergonomics aren’t great. Inconvenient placement of start and select buttons that require me to reposition the corresponding hand to reach them, which is annoying in games where you frequently look at the map or inventory. Also, due to the smaller size of the controller compared to the xbox controller, I need to bend my left thumb more to rest on the thumbstick, which may cause extra strain.

It comes with it’s own travel case which is a really nice touch and it is heavy and well made with good sturdy plastic. Battery lasts and it is very responsive!

Perfect controller for this price range
Comfortable, feels really good in the hands, sturdy construction, comes with a plastic case

I didn’t like the thumbsticks but that’s down to personal preference. (Ended up replacing them with some ExtremeRate ps5 thumbsticks)

Works well with both android and windows (haven’t tested other platforms)

Would recommend to people who like the Xbox layout but find the official controllers a little big

Firmware Update Required for iOS/Apple TV Connectio
Someone else posted this too but it was important for me to get this controller up and running – a firmware update is required out of the box to add the function where the controller can be detected as a PS4 (DualShock 4) controller on iOS/Apple TV. This is done by downloading the GameSir app and connecting as an Android game controller (or as a Nintendo Pro Controller).

Interestingly enough, even after I did this and got it connected as a DS4 (like the manual suggests) the connection was pretty awful and the controller would stop responding. The reason this gets a 4-star rating is the controller DOES connect to an Apple TV and work well when paired as a Nintendo Pro Controller. The one caveat is that I was only able to get one of these controllers to connect at a time, so no two-player action with only these GameSir controllers.

Controllers look good and work well, and the packaging is minimalist but well-done (IMO) – they just need to update the firmware by default and/or put a sticker on existing inventory letting people know to do this. It’s a good cheap alternative to a DS4 or Xbox controller but not nearly as plug-and-play.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersHigh Quality Game Controller! Works Wirelessly with Teslas!!!
After several failed attempts to find a Bluetooth wireless game controller to play all the games in my 2023 Tesla Model Y, I finally found one that connects flawlessly and has the perfect button (X, Y, A, B) configurations!

This controller comes with nice storage/protective case as well, which is an added bonus!

I highly recommend this product for its affordable price point, great quality and performance, overall value, and its ability to pair with the latest Tesla vehicles.

A far better controller than other off brand "Pro controllers"
I have half a dozen or so off brand pro controllers, and this is the only one that comes close to the original.

It is very responsive, and has worked in every game I have tried it on.
I have 2 other similar ones that the sticks just aren’t responsive enough to play several games.

The RGB lighting is pretty cool looking as well, all in all its a very nice looking controller.

This one is probably my favourite thus far, pending it doesn’t develop any stick drift or stuck buttons.

Bought this since my official Xbone controller developed drift a few days after getting it. This controller is a little more like an old xbox 360 controller in design, but connected straight away when connected via the dongle to my pc. It came with a case for the controller which i wasn't expecting but is great for keeping the controller from getting damaged on my desk. Also it's rechargable, which is great compared to regular battery operated controllers. A win all around in my book

    Innovative macros buttons
The GameSir Nova Wireless Switch Pro Controller is a versatile option for Nintendo Switch users, although I had zero issues pairing it with my Android phone or my Windows 10 PC.

The controller is designed to be comfortable to hold and the long-lasting battery ensures that you can enjoy uninterrupted gameplay for extended periods, making it ideal for gaming on the go. Additionally, the included protective case adds a layer of convenience for travel, keeping your controller safe and secure.

It’s worth noting that the X, Y, A, B buttons are flipped compared to an Xbox controller. This can be swapped if you are more accustomed to the traditional Xbox layout by holding the M + B button for 2 seconds. The two programmable paddles on the back of the controller offer innovative functionality, allowing you to execute complex combos without having to mash several buttons.

The hall effect joysticks are responsive and the customizable RGB lighting is a great added feature. Overall, the GameSir Nova controller offers rich features and compatibility making it a solid choice for gamers.

    Worth the investme
Get ready to elevate your gaming experience with the wireless switch controller, a sleek and versatile addition to any gaming setup. Packed with features like a protective case, RGB lighting, and macro functionality, this controller is a game-changer in more ways than one.

Let’s start with the protective case. Not only does it keep your controller safe from bumps and scratches, but it also adds a layer of convenience for gaming on the go. Whether you’re traveling to a friend’s house or just tossing your controller in your bag, the protective case ensures that your controller stays in pristine condition wherever you take it.

Just a side note, as this doesn’t excite me that much but might interest some. There is RGB addition to the controller

But the real star of the show is the controller itself. From its ergonomic design to its responsive buttons, every aspect of this controller is designed with the gamer in mind. The controller feels great to use and to the touch, making even marathon gaming sessions a breeze.

And then there’s the macro functionality. With the ability to create macros without the need for additional software, this controller puts customization at your fingertips. Whether you’re executing complex combos in fighting games or streamlining repetitive tasks in strategy games, the macro functionality gives you an edge over the competition.

In conclusion, the Wireless Switch Controller is a must-have for any gamer looking to take their gaming experience to the next level. With its protective case, customizable RGB lighting, and intuitive macro functionality, this controller offers convenience, style, and performance in one package. Whether you’re a casual gamer or a hardcore enthusiast, this controller has everything you need to dominate the competition and level up your gaming experience.

Good build quality but no analog triggers
The Gamesir Nova is really best suited to be a Nintendo Switch controller. This is because it lacks analog triggers and in their place are buttons that look like triggers. I believe this is because the system mainly uses the 6 axis gyro in games, which this does have. Steam for PC actually does support gyro use with this controller, and you can opt to map the gyro to a joystick function (yaw or roll or both). However, controlling using the gyro within Steam is very erratic even after multiple calibrations. As such, I think racing on this gamepad would be an impossible feat on the PC. A bit disappointing considering how this is marketed for multiple systems including PC.

The buttons are membrane based and resembles that of a Xbox One controller in feel. I like that it isn’t clacky like the Series X controller. Joysticks track very smoothly thanks to the Hall Effect sensors. The D pad is also quiet but mushy. Like their other controllers, this one features two macro buttons which allow you to map buttons to a more convenient location. Placement of both are ergonomic and I liked the clicky feel. There’s also a Turbo mode which essentially lets you program button mashes so you don’t actually have to mash the button. Aside from that, the manual lists all the button combinations for changing RGB and lighting effects as well as calibration of gyro and joysticks. While the rumble effect was on the weak side, it feels precise, tight, and responsive if that makes any sense.

Construction wise, it’s very good like most Gamesir controllers. I love the translucent green exterior and I love that it comes with a plastic carry case. As this is a switch controller, the X and Y keys are flipped, as are the A and B buttons which can make gameplay a bit tricky since most expects the Xbox controller layout. There’s no option to flip this layout. In Windows 11, I paired it by bluetooth and it just worked out of the box.

At the time of review, the Gamesir Nova is a better value than the Switch Pro controller but it’s not the best choice for PC gaming. For those users, I’d stick to Xbox licensed controllers for maximum compatibility.

    GameSir continues to impress
I have previously tested the Nova Lite and really enjoyed it, but I needed those back buttons.

The Nova delivers in this regard and many others.

Those Hall Effect joysticks are a pleasure to use. Movements in-game are crisp and precise. They also utilize a non-slip coating which helps prevent thumbs from sliding off-centre (something which happens a lot to me when using the Pro Controller).

The D-pad will make or break controllers for me, since I use it constantly for selecting, going through menus, etc. Fortunately, I am very happy with this one. It is neither too firm nor too squishy, but has just the right amount of resistance.

The face buttons are surprisingly tactile; nice and bouncy, with a very pleasant feedback. They offer a bit of resistance without getting annoying to use over time. You will not be activating buttons by mistake just by resting your fingers on them.

Both the D-pad and face buttons have a nice soft texture which makes them very pleasant to operate.

L and R are responsive and easy to spam; no missed inputs there so far (which is sometimes an issue with controllers).
ZL and ZR have a cushioned bottom out, so there is no sound of plastic on plastic, which is quite nice.

Customizability on this controller is off the charts. I love how it can all be done using button combinations on the controller: no software required! I mentioned the back buttons earlier – I was able to easily assign them to Left Click and Right Click with a few button combinations. Love it.

Things I disliked but not enough to bring down the total score:

It is a bit slippery to hold. The back side of the grips is slightly texturized, but perhaps not enough for all users. Sometimes the controller will slip away from my fingers when I try to pick it up from my desk.

I was curious and tried to update the firmware. The manual directed me to the GameSir phone app, which forced me to pair the controller with my phone and install the app, only to find out that the firmware update button is missing. Perhaps this version of the Nova is too new, or perhaps this means my firmware is up to date; but I did find the whole process to be cumbersome.

Bluetooth only, so no 2.4 Ghz dongle included. But then this is primarily meant to be a Switch controller.

The placement of the plus and minus buttons isn’t the best, especially minus (your thumb needs to jump over the left joystick to reach it). I would have put + and – closer together. It seems like they were spaced farther apart in order to fit the GameSir logo in the middle of the controller…

    *****
CONCLUSION: Great controller, a solid 4.5/5 if I could rate it as such. Night and day compared to other GameSir controllers I have used in the past. Top-notch buttons and all the customization you could want. Not as grippy as I would like, and not a fan of the placement of plus and minus. Great buy overall, but as always, I will revisit my review in case of issues down the line.
