Keeps water cold for such a long time
Holds loads of water (can be quite heavy when full). Keeps my water cold for ages. Took it on holiday too and it was great to have cold water in red hot weather. Very sturdy.
Ion8 insulated 1 litre bottle
Despite being marketed as 1 litre capacity the bottle holds just 920ml.
Ordered a grey one and was delivered a blue one instead! Not worth returning as I like the product itself.
Great all round water bottle for everyday use!
Having used a 750ml Ion8 water bottle every day for a few years now, I decided to upgrade to this bottle and can say honestly they are great products all round. They have never leaked once, they keep drinks cool/warm for a long time, and they are easy to carry around on the go. Overall, they are highly recommended for everyday office or outdoor use.
Truly is leak proof
The waterbottle doesn’t leak at all I filled it and have shook it left it on its side and chucked it in a back pack and it’s not leaked, there isn’t even moisture around the rim of the lid.
It keeps the water at a the temperature you put it in at which is great.
The extra secure locking system on the bottle is really helpful and reassuring when you put the bottle in your bag as you know it would take a lot for it to open, but is super easy and fast to open when you want to.
Keeps drinks cold, does leak.
Love that it just fits in my car cup holder and its big and it keeps drinks cold. HOWEVER, it does leak. I read other reviews but thought it can’t leak as it says it doesn’t. If you lie it down at any angle, it leaks out from where the ring pull holder part is. If there wasn’t this, it probably wouldn’t leak. You don’t need this part, just hold the bottle with your hand!!

I’ve had to make my own repairs as i need it for the weekend and it will take too long to send back and get another one that may or may not leak. It’s 50/50 whether or not i take it across the Atlantic ocean in a rowing boat this year as was my intention.
This is an updated review… I contacted Ion8 directly by email shortly after the above review. I asked for a replacement lid and was happy to send the original back to them.
Incredibly they sent me 4 new bottles which meant that each member of the team got a bottle. Happily they all worked perfectly and we successfully crossed the Atlantic ocean in 45 days. Thank you Ion8 I can wholeheartedly recommended this product,and I have changed the initial 3 stars accordingly to 5 stars.
Works well but not that durable
I wanted to love this bottle. It keeps my drink at its original temperature for hours which is wonderful, and is slim enough to be easy to transport. It also has never leaked on me.
However, it has some design flaws. The base is all metal, which means it slides around really easily on smooth surfaces. As a result, I’ve dropped it countless times from counters and at work. If you accidently even nudge this bottle, given its height and weight when full, it will fall heavily. I’ve already dented it quite badly and I’ve only had it for 3 months!
Put a rubber base on this and the problem is fixed.
Just pop the removable mouthpiece seal out and put it back in.
I ordered this on Prime Day and got it for about 25% off the full RRP. When I received it and tested it out over the sink it DID leak, but I removed the silicon seal that’s in the lid (that stops water leaking from the mouthpiece when the lid’s closed) and popped it back in and it’s now 100% leak-proof! The seal is designed to be removed and cleaned which is great!
I think that when they’re brand new the seal is a bit flat, but removing it and putting it back lets it form back into the dome shape it was manufactured into, so it creates a perfect seal against the mouthpiece.
It keeps my water ice cold for my whole work day, it’s super durable-feeling and allows me to carry a lot of water with me when I’m not able to go and refill whenever I like.
It has a ‘soft-touch’ finish on the exterior (rather than the brushed steel of the non-insulated ion8 bottles) which I was apprehensive about at first, but have found it to be a nice touch when I use it.
Blows other bottles out of the water because it has a lid that you can use with one hand (no unscrewing!), it’s 100% leak-proof, lockable, insulated and has a massive capacity, all while being easy to clean and maintain and easy to handle. No risk of spillage around you laptop either.
I’ve had loads of ION8 bottles in the past and they’ve been generally excellent. I bought this to have as a ‘desk bottle’ (working from home – guaranteed a minimum of a litre of water a day – no potential for accidental spills). Mine arrived looking like it had been dropped as the lid had impact scars (although the bottle body was flawless). It also leaked a tiny little bit (fine for general use but not good enough to pack in a bag for transit). Neither are really critical to functioning for my specific needs in this case but disappointing considering cost and past experience regarding quality.
However, I decided (after not returning it to Amazon) to contact ION8 to see if they did replacement lids and they were brilliant. Excellent customer service. Instant response to emails… and supplied me with a replacement.
