I bought this replacement shell along with a replacement button kit obviously for asthetic purposes. It looks and feels amazing. Compared to the oem shell, this is a huge upgrade. Very satisfied with all the contents of this kit and the installation video is very easy to follow and very informative. I would recommend watching the video first before following along with it. All in all I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Tried two other shells from other companies which were a terrible fit but this one is perfect in every way super nice fit and really high quality. Extremerate are the best in my opinion I use their switch Xbox and ps5 shells a lot never had an issue not once!! Highly recommend!
Nice feeling product, but with some drawbacks.
This shell feels quite nice in hand. It feels sturdy enough to last for a while and looks very nice too.
An issue that it had on arrival, but I’ve fixed was a rubbing plastic sound when the hinge moved. This was caused by a small bit of plastic that I had to file down. It wasn’t a difficult job, but it warants a mention incase anyone else deals with it. After that I had no troubles to date.
The screws included aren’t the best. After some fiddling with them I decided to throw them aside and simply reuse the screws from my old shell. The screwdrivers included aren’t much better.
But overall I think it’s a worthwhile pickup if you’re trying to find a good reshell for your SP.
Sexy and smooth
Had to get this shell after seeing how gorgeous it was. Took my time to reshell it and was all done. The only issue for me is the joints appear to be aftermarket and the caps won’t fit, so I’ll have to figure something out to cap the joints.
The texture is nice and smooth to the hands. Such a great finish and feel.
For me, an obvious concern was messing this up, and bricking my beloved nugget. After completing this “project”, I can say it’d be difficult to mess up. Like just don’t do it in the bath levels of ease. Some people had a complaint that things were not packaged separately, but I did not find this an issue. The only things that can be confused are the screws, but if you watch the install video and follow along, this wasn’t an issue for me. This set includes two screw drivers, one 4-point, and one 3-point, as indicated by the colored handles. Some screws are silver, some are brassy. As long as you pay attention to what colored screwdriver and screws are being used in the video, they make it very clear what you should be doing. There are only one size brass and silvers screws per screw driver, so you’ll always be using the right screw. Some people also said they were missing parts… mine came with extras. Also all of the screws are interchangeable with the OEM ones you’ll be removing from your old one. So just use those if you keep losing your new ones.
The construction is excellent. They are well molded with no excess plastic to shave off or trim. I’ve always been a fan of soft touch plastic for devices like this. It’s just more enjoyable to hold, and even nice to brush your finger across. So you can have fun petting your little nugget, rewarding it for 20 years of loyalty and service.
Overall I think this is great. My old case was showing the 2 decades of wear on it, this new one is crisp and clean. This kit comes with everything you need to swap the electronics from the old case to this new one, with the exception of the shoulder joints, which the video shows you how to easily transfer over. It even comes with new rubber spring pads for the buttons. On the note of buttons, Nintendo did you a solid here, and made it impossible to put the wrong button in the wrong place, so no worries there.
It should be noted that this does not come with a spot for the Nintendo badge on the top lid, and it comes with an eXtremeRate branded label for the bottom. This wasn’t an issue for me, personally. Removing the badge gives it a cleaner look, and if I was concerned about keeping the collection value of it intact, I wouldn’t have swapped out the OEM case in the first place. You can get replacement OEM stickers for the bottom online, if you really wanted that. This nugget is mine, and this case has added personal value, fun, and comfort to it.
Great little side project swapping my old SP into a new shell!
This was surprisingly easy to do. The hinge was abit finicky with how you have to role up the ribbon cable but other than that everything was good. I would say be careful when screwing in the screw’s because I have managed to crack the shell through over tightening. So when screwing in keep an eye on both sides of the shell so you don’t make the same mistake I did!

Product was what i expected and made my Gameboy look brand new from its old worn out orignal grey shell it came with! 😀
However i did have to use the hinges out of the old shell because it didnt come with any
