I got this cable not for its usual use as a Hive Hub power cable, but as an XTAR VC4 power cable. The XTAR (a very useful battery charger for NiCd, NiMh and Li-Ion cells) comes with a 1 metre cable, which can be somewhat restrictive. This 2 metre cable allows more distance between the USB power supply and the battery charger.
The cable is a touch thinner than the XTAR cable (possibly the next wire gauge down) but seems fine, certainly when charging NiMH cells.
There’s not much that can be said about cables. They either work or they don’t. This one worked fine. Plugged it in to my hive hub, and the USB adaptor, and it powered up without any issues, and it stayed on. What more could I want?
The connectors are good fits, not too tight or too loose. If you need a replacement power lead for your Hive hub, then this will do the job.
