Love my mouse.
Very useful. Decent size for my hand. The clicking it very quiet. In generally, I find it better looking than other mouse’s and the white colour suits my laptop and my iPad. I always enjoy using my mouse.
Best mouse I ever had
Super silent (no sound of clicks) and light, fits perfectly in a small hand (might be too small for bigger hands). Very pretty.
Usable with Bluetooth or a provided tool (stored inside the mouse, near the battery) to be inserted in a USB port.
Good size for small hands
I got this to replace an older version that no longer works, and also because it’s a better size for smaller hands so it’s comfortable to use over a long period of time.
Comfortable in hand
I pondered on whether to purchase the small or large version of this mouse and am glad that I settled for the large version as I think the small version would have been too small. After having used a wired mouse for many years this was a good transition with no noticeable lag in it’s response. This is a good buy and is recommended.
Excellent mid-range mouse
Very comfortable, very reliable connection and the battery life so far has been excellent (I’ll provide an update if I have any problems in the future).
I liked it so much I bought another one for work.
Quiet mouse
Really nice and fast mouse, eerily quiet. Been using it a month now and growing to really like it. Got it to replace the Microsoft Arc mouse, which was perfect, this is very close!
Good but not as good as the old M510
Decent mouse, we’ve used the Logitech M510 for many years and the M650 has a few pros and a more than a few cons.
Pros are the better connectivity with Bluetooh and the superior ‘Bolt’ dongle, the more versatile scroll wheel and possibly a nice ‘click’ on the buttons according to my wife.
Cons are foremost the size, shape and weight, size even in the ‘large’ is way smaller than the M510, the shape is less ergonomically friendly and personally I prefer the heavier weight of the M510. This really not a full size mouse in any way in my opinion.
Would choose the M510 over the M650 at the same price in all instances unless left handed. (it’s cheaper too).
The M650 mouse is a good 'daily driver'
I have used this mouse on a daily basis, mostly for a full working day, for about the last 15 months. Tasks are mostly general office productivity-type.
I am left-handed, but my hands are small, so the smaller version was preferred to the larger version which comes in both left- and right-handed variants.
As a result the two small extra function buttons, being placed on the left, are not usable by me. But that’s OK – I can just ignore them.
The mouse has been connected via the logi bolt receiver and also via bluetooth with several laptops and also an ipad.
Over the years I have purchased a number of mice, mostly from Logitech, both cheaper and more expensive, and the M650 is one of two that I retain. I am quite selective, and I would buy the M650 again.
Pros:
– good size, and comfort.
– reasonable weight (~95g) in the hand: not too heavy, not too light.
– reliable connectivity in both bolt and BT modes.
– battery life seems excellent. I think that I have replaced the battery once in 15 months.
Cons:
– switching connectivity modes is less convenient than others eg the MX Anywhere 2.
– not cheap (30 at time of purchase), but still good value IMO, given the positives esp comfort.
First some background as to why I bought this Logitech M650 L mouse. I used to love the Microsoft Mobile Mouse 4000, but didn’t replace it when it died because it chewed through so many batteries. I then tried the Microsoft Mobile Surface Mouse, which is a fantastic high quality mouse, but not optimal in terms of ergonomics. I only use it now and again.
So I still needed a high quality wireless mouse for use at home to replace the Microsoft 4000 mouse.
I bought this M650 L after I looked at the pictures on Logitech’s website and read some reviews. In summary, I think it’s fantastic. The buttons are silent but highly satisfying to use. The ergonomics on the M650 L are great. A USB wireless module is hidden inside in case you need it. However, the standard Bluetooth in this mouse works fine with my M1 MacBook Pro 13″. I bought the white one which goes well with my MacBook.
TLDR: If you loved the Microsoft Mobile Mouse 4000, you will love this M650 L from Logitech
slightly left handed mouse
This is my 4th left handed mouse, having used the logitech mx610 and the razer deathadder
this mouse is basically a neutral mouse with thumb buttons for a left hander, when i installed it, the default setup is right handed configuration, I bought this mouse as a spare while I get my Razer deathadder mouse repaired. So trying to go through menus, with a mouse meant for lefties and the buttons are set for right.
I think for comfort the Razer deathadder is a far nicer mouse to hold, the problem with my old logitech mx610 is it can loose wireless signal at times and be a bit jumpy, but it was released over 16 years ago.
this mouse has limited comfort as it is a neutral shaped mouse and not a true left handers, the only trouble with the Razer Deathadder is they are hard to find.
my two older mice are nicer to hold and use for hours even if they are heavier. it is a shame that logitech has not improved upon the mx610 in terms of the electronics as it has the far nicer shape.
when i had recieved this mouse it was hard to find the usb transmitter as it was hidden in the mouse and the instructions that came with the mouse are rather poor.
I plan to use this mouse as a spare and I hope to get my razer deathadder mouse repaired as it is so much more comfortable to use, but at present it is difficult to replace
Cute mouse!
I’ve been using this mouse for over a year with daily use, it’s difficult to find a decent battery, wireless pink mouse and this has been a gem. It has only had one battery change and the clicks are still very muted! The rubber along the sides hasn’t come off at all which is often an issue I’ve had before, however the pink has faded/worn off so the rubber is now a kind of beige colour which isn’t super obvious or offensive so isn’t a problem for me. The only draw back with this mouse is the lack of sensitivity, I have it on the highest and it’s still lower than a lot of mice. If you play fps type games, this mouse isn’t for you, however for casual gaming and general use it’s absolutely fine. I got the large size regardless of being a woman with average sized hands and it fits perfectly, if you want a mouse for actual larger hands then this likely won’t be the best fit.
A lovely mid-range priced mouse from Logitech. I was debating about getting the Logitech Pebble or the POP mouse before this was released, but as soon as I saw that this had customisable buttons and came in a pink colourway (which matches nicely with my Logitech K380 pink keyboard), I knew this was the mouse for me! My mouse in the pictures has a skin on, but the top is a light matte pink that matches the buttons.
Compatibility with iPad:
– I’ve been using it with my iPad Pro for a few months without any problems so far, just make sure to go to into Settings to make sure the mouse is optimised. I found that the default scrolling on the iPad was far too slow/laggy/short a distance, so I turned scrolling sensitivity to the highest in order to achieve smooth scrolling on webpages.
– Its sensitivity is good for casual gaming too.
– You can also scroll sideways through your home pages by holding one of the side buttons while simultaneously scrolling (although I’ve found its a bit clunky and sometimes it scrolls you all the way to the end so that you see the app library, so it’s more reliable to just click and drag if you want to swipe through your home pages)
Pros:
– 3 extra customisable buttons to map actions to (the scroll wheel click, and the 2 thumb buttons on the side). Especially useful with an iPad because you can map them to open up multitasking or go to the home screen.
– Silent left and right clicks that still feel very tactile. The scroll action of the scroll wheel is also quite quiet, with no loud clicks as the wheel turns (although it still gives you a clicky tactile feedback). Excellent if you’re using it in a quiet place or in the public.
– Has a space to store the USB dongle so you don’t lose it (since I only use Bluetooth to connect anyway this is especially nice)
– Has built in horizontal scrolling in the form of pressing a side button and scrolling on the scroll wheel at the same time.
– Very nice streamlined shaped, ergonomic without being bulky, and is comfortable when using for a long time. Has curved, taller profile, just right for my palm to rest naturally on it (which is why I chose this over the Pebble mouse, which is much flatter). Its taller shape also means your thumb/pinky isn’t dragging on the table as you’re using the mouse.
– The sides are made of a soft grippy material, which is really comfortable when you’re using the mouse for long periods of times. The scroll wheel is also notched and made of a grippy material too.
– Has a left handed option and also comes in 2 different sizes so you can choose the one that fits your hands the best.
Cons:
– The scroll wheel click and the thumb buttons aren’t silent, they sound like normal clicks. (Although they’re still more muted than, for example, the Apple Magic Mouse’s clicks).
– It can only store 1 bluetooth profile, so if you want to connect another device via bluetooth, you would have to get your old device to forget its connection first. (Although this wouldn’t be the case if you connect the new device with the USB dongle). However, if you’re looking to jump between multiple devices with your mouse I would suggest looking at the Logitech POP or MX Anywhere 3 mice instead, as they can store 3 bluetooth devices.
– Might be less portable than smaller/flatter mice.
– Uses a single AA battery instead of being rechargeable. Although its battery life with the AA battery is much longer than what you’d get on a single charge of a chargeable battery.
Summary:
This is a very nice option for anyone looking for a reasonably priced, wireless, daily-driver mouse from a reputable tech accessory brand. It can be comfortably used for extended periods and is great for office/productivity work. Its key features are its silent clicks, dual connection options (bluetooth/USB) and its 3 extra customisable buttons (not counting the left/right clicks).
The M650L Large is a halfway house between the Logitech MX Anywhere 3 and the cheaper mice such as the M190, having the features of the former and the size of the latter.
The M650 comes in “Standard” size (M650) and “Large” (M650L) size and in Left and Right handed versions (the side mounted forward & back buttons fall under the thumb if you’ve chosen the correct version).
As well as being a good size for larger hands, and being “handed” the left and right buttons are what Logitech describe as Silent – that’s not strictly true, but they are very quiet. The scroll wheel is also very quiet and works in one of two modes: give it a large flick and it will scroll a considerable amount, flick it gently and it will move a line at a time. Vey useful.
The side mounted buttons aren’t quiet, which spoils things a bit, but they are no louder than a standard mouse so it’s not really worth complaining about – I’ve mentioned it for completeness.
In use the mouse feels a little hollow (probably due to it’s size), but it’s substantial and doesn’t creak or flex; it moves smoothly across the desk, or mouse pad, and the buttons are smooth too, with no bounce and the subsequent double entry that brings is absent. The wheel is smooth, and the side buttons do fall nicely under the thumb, so all in all this is a great mouse to use.
Logitech state the battery life is 2 years (a single AA battery is required, and supplied). I don’t know how true that will be, but mine’s down to 90% after 4 weeks of use. Connection is via Bluetooth or Logitech’s Bolt dongle (not compatible with their unifying receiver or devices); it can only be paired with one device at a time which may be an issue if you require that feature.
Set up of the keys, wheel, etc is via Logitech’s (beta) Options + software, which seems reliable.
To sum up, the M650L Left is a good, sensibly sized mouse for left-handers (with a right handed version also being available) that’s quiet with a smooth action. It’s less than half the price of the MX anywhere 3, but has virtually all the features, which makes it a bit of a bargain. Highly recommended.
