Great puzzle, but sensors aren't ideal.
The puzzle itself is great, nice and colourful ideal for pre school children. However the sounds are temperamental, which reading other reviews seems to be a consistent problem. Being light sensative they set off randomly and often not when they are actually being played with which is a shame.
Sound puzzle
Great puzzle, LOVE the sounds it makes, my daughter loves it. She had a little chew on one of the pieces and the picture is starting to come away but she is only 18 months. Maybe best suited to a non chewer!
I like the classic pictures, so that they are easy to recognise for a baby, but the way sound work is confusing. The system reacts to any thing you put close to the magnet, even if it’s your arm. So when the baby puts his hand on an let’s say, a pig, unintentionally, it goes pink even If the baby puts a cow to its place at that moment. And if he tries to fit in the wrong animal, there is still a sound. So it’s confusing. But overall it’s nice. Also, the upper layer is paper, so it gets minor scratches on edges, but it’s ok.
Lovely wooden jigsaw
Fab little item, my son who is autistic loves this and spends hours playing with it. Good quality, well made, and animal noise sounds when the jigsaw piece is put in place.
Love the sounds
My 3 grandaughters love the animal noises! At 1 year old and 2 at 18 months, they have leart to match the pictures and get the right noises quite quickly, but still don’t get them in the holes correctly!

Hours of fu
This is a great puzzle and gives hours of fun. The sounds could be a bit clearer (they all sound a little bit alike), but it’s a great puzzle nonetheless.
1st birthday pressie
They had this puzzle at my son’s nursery so we bought it for his 1st birthday. It is a little too young for him but we like practicing with him making the animal noises. I’m looking forward to helping him match the shapes when he gets older. My friend’s 2 year old easily put the pieces back in. I would have given this 5 stars but when we first put the batteries in the puzzle didn’t always make the animal noise. It seems to work OK now. I’ll be buying this as a gift in the future.
My son liked it better without sound
The sounds of animals are not very real, but it was fun at the beginning. When my son grew up a bit he loved to put them back and made their sounds himself because I took the battery out. The toy is very nice itself but the biggest downside is the noise it makes when not in use. Suddenly in the middle of the night you can hear cow or dog barking which is very annoying. Without battery- nice and educational.
I purchased this for my little boy when he was one and he played with it constantly. A fun, durable toy which he still plays with at the age of two. I haven’t had to replace the batteries at all, so it’s also fairly economical, compared to other battery-run toys in the marketplace. Good value and great for children, a fun and educational toy that won’t bore them to tears.
