Versatile, but heavy!
Having vaulted ceilings and gable mounted cctv, I needed a big ladder. This was the biggest ‘A’ frame ladder I could find, but it is also an extendable straight ladder. It’s on the verge of being too heavy for one person to manage safely. It folds in half, and down to about a metre, but makes a 3.1m ‘A’ frame, and 6.2m fully extended. Some reviews said it flexes, but I didn’t feel that it did. It had safety features to lock into place, and I’m very happy with mine.
he ladder is fairly easy to put up or down, one rung at a time (though putting it up gets harder and harder the taller it gets). It seems to work fine, but is alarmingly bendy in the middle when you climb it. So you start off with a 75-degree slope against a wall, but as you climb it the middle bows inwards until the top half is mostly vertical. I’ve no idea if its meant to do this, I’ve never used a telescopic ladder before, and I cant see any way to strengthen or adjust it.
