Found it tricky to set up but once up and running t works well
I ordered this carplay/android auto wireless dongle to use in my car.
I found it quite fiddly to get it to connect up but managed it in the end.
It didn’t have as many functions as my existing dongle but s pretty well made and is small in size.
Mirroring worked pretty well and there was just a very small delay. It was handy to get it to show all my photos on screen.

I think some of the reviews on here are people who expected this to enable Apple Car Play, whereas your vehicle already needs it enabled but normally by a wire — this just makes it wireless.
If you know the downsides to wireless Apple CarPlay, specifically increased lag — then this works as you would expect. My iPhone connects by time I have started driving off, certainly within 20 seconds.
I am very happy with it and allows me to tidy up the cables in the car, alongside this being tucked away due to its small size.
Small, versatile, easy to setup and use.
This little gadget provides you with a way to mirror your phone’s disdplay and functionality on your car’s media screen and generally speaking it works quite well. The setup for Android users is pretty fast and seamless.
There are a few more hoops to jump through for iOS but you get used to it and it only really comes into the equation if you regularly switch between devices. There is a small button on the adapter that lets you instantly disconnect from a device and connect to a different one.
I found that responsiveness through Android was quick and consistent. Once set up it is pretty much like having the functions hardwired into the car. Scolling around maps etc is fast and seamless. There is no noticealbe latency when streaming music or video.
Overall I am really pleased with this little device. It is also very small so it is easy to hide away somewhere.
Perfect solution for me
This neat little box of tricks is exactly what I have been looking for to resolve an irritation with my 2021 A Class which has wireless phone charging but irritatingly, not wireless Android Auto! So I end up using a cable every day (I much prefer Android Auto to built in sat-navs)
This Ottocast adapter now resolves that issue and my phone can stay in my pocket or use the wireless charger whilst givving me Andoid Auto wirelessly on the cars display.
I gather that this will also allow you to use the large car screen to play videos on using a variety of apps which could be a bonus if you have kids. At the time of review, this is on offer at 109 which for me is worth every penny. Just make sure you go onto Ottocast’s web page first to check you car is compatible.

I didn’t realise at the time of taking this to review that it doesn’t actually work with either of our vehicles as they are apparently too old. I didn’t think it was even an issue unless I received the adapter and needed to check regarding the relevant system to buy with it for our camper as we wanted a better way of playing music and using Google maps rather than our phone.
However, it does seem to be suitable for my sister’s vehicle which already has a car play system in place so I will try it on that and update my review.
The unit itself is pretty compact – much smaller than I thought it would be so it won’t take up a lot of space and it’s good that it works with both apple and android as we have both.
