You wanna be that awesome uncle? Get this – it is the bomb.
There was an age in my life where ice-cream was scarce and sought after. My brother and I could eat endless quantities – and before she became a teenager my sister was up for it too. Kids are like that. Now imagine that for Christmas you were given this machine and you could make your own. I have no detail on how the machine performed – but judging by the gentle weariness in my brother when I asked how his kids were getting on with the machine – its production has been relentless.
It’s a good little machine, not the best I’ve had but it does (eventually) get the job done! My only issue was trying to add swirls but if you’re looking to make single flavour then it’s a good one for the job
Good for making ice cream to eat after dinner .it is quite noisy and you Must ensure the bowl has been in the freezer for the full 12 hours before use .it takes up a lot of space in the freezer.Made nice ice cream with no additives though healthier than shop bought.
Makes great ice-cream with a soft serve texture. Managed to make two flavours with one freeze of the unit. I just used a chilled container of ready made custard (half a pint) and added chilled strawberry milkshake mix for one and the other half a pint of the custard with some lemon curd for the other flavour. The second one was very soft so I popped it in a container in the freezer to harden a bit.
Very pleased with it and looking forward to experimenting with flavours as the weather gets nicer.
It doesn’t fit in my fridge freezer, as it’s quite large, but goes in the chest freezer.
A bit fiddly to clean as you can’t submerge the whole of the top, but a damp sponge does the job. The bottom bit needs to fully defrost before cleaning.
I bought this ice cream maker for my stay-at-home girlfriend in university. I managed to pass this off as a birthday present for her, but I’m the one who gets to eat loads of customised ice-cream. The Sensio Home Ice Cream Maker is very easy to use, you basically just concoct your flavoured cream and stick it in the bowl and bish bash bosh, it stirs itself. It’s also apparently super easy to clean and rinse out, of course I’ve never done that part. My only issue with it is that you have to freeze the bowl beforehand, like it doesn’t do the freezing part automatically, someone should try adding like liquid nitrogen or something into their cream without freezing the bowl and letting the rest of us know how that works out and if it tastes any good or not.
Only used once and found it quite easy to use.
Must admit the paddle seems a bit flimsy but did the job no problem.
Cleaning the machine is relatively easy.
Would definitely recommend this item x
I’ve been using this ice cream churner for a year now. It’s my first churner so I can’t compare to other products. It arrived on time, in good condition with sensible packaging. I didn’t use any recipes just the overall liquid that would fit in the unit which was fine. After a couple of disasters (which were recipe errors) the machine has worked consistently thoughout the year & still going strong. Only today have I worked out how to remove the motor from it’s housing! Naturally the whole unit requires cleaning which is a nightmare with the motor in place. 4 start review because fitting the top to the frozen bowl is fiddly & requires a lot of patience – it does work well when in place though. And washing the frozen bowl after use – fine but there is a fair amount of water seepage under the rim which oozes into the bowl when you turn it back upright. no problem if you’re storing it away but for multiple use not so great. That said – Excellent VFM
good deal
First of all: it works. Tried out different recipes and they come out nicely. But you need to get used to making ice cream and your timing
The product works well, is easy to clean, and comes with clear instructions. I was lucky that the base container fit in my fridge – definitely something to check before you purchase this.
The only downside for me were the two inlets that should help secure the lid (with motor) onto the base container…that mechanism is too slippery and the lid keeps on turning back to the opening position and even starts moving if the ice cream happens to be too thick. I would think this is something that can be easily improved in the desig
