I moved in to a house where all the fences were dark green from algae build up over years. I did once spray with this and within a day it went from dark green to clean wood. Mind blowing stuff. Diluted 5-1 with water and applied with a garden sprayer, no prep or cleaning before. A side by side of two panels, one treated and one untreated, can be seen in photo.
Outstanding
I was really sceptical about this stuff, would it really work?
Mixed with 1 part solution, 4 parts water and then liberally sprayed onto a wooden garden bench and fencing. All completely covered in a dark bright green algae.
I came close to getting rid of the bench thinking it was beyond saving!
In less than 10 hrs, all the algae is now gone.
Incredible stuff, I’m very impressed and would highly recommend this product.
Does what it says but careful it might kill your plants
Wet and Forget works amazingly well. I used it on my algae-covered fence before painting it, and within a week, the algae was gone. However, be careful when spraying near plants, as it can scorch or kill them. Overall, it’s a fantastic product for removing algae and mildew.
Bleached
I bought this product to see if I could remove black mould that appeared on some areas of concrete in my garden. The solution comes in quite a sizeble container so there’s a good amount. I applied the solution only once and i was happily surprised to see that after a week or 2 that the mould had vanished and concrete apoeared as good as new. It was like seeing a miracle that even my Gardner was shocked by.
I definitely will purchase this product again if I ever need too.
Fantastic
I’ve used this product for years and it does exactly what it says on the tin, or plastic container in this case. I use a sprayer and only need to do the job once a year to tackle algae on my bloc paving, patio area and fencing and I have a lot of each of those. On most occasions the algae has gone within a day depending on the temperature outside. Having used other brands, this one is certainly the best one for me. The fact that it reactivates when it rains is a bonus.
Good on wood not so good on slabs
This stuff is very good on wood but not so good on anything else. I sprayed and left it on overnight and was aa bit dismayed the it hadn’t really touched the patio slabs. My wooden furniture however was a different story it cleared that very well. I would buy it again for the wooden furniture
Great stuff
Spayed all around garden where it was needed, especially in the areas where didn’t get any sun and within a month everything was perfect. Just hope that it last a while cos otherwise little expensive.
Better than jet washing!
Sprayed block paving and slabs on patio with this, came up like new after a few weeks, far easier than jet washing!
Have used wet and forget before and would highly recommend.
Wet and Forge
I applied it undiluted to clean the grime from my families headstone. Application is easy by brush. I wore protective disposable gloves and safety glasses. It takes several applications to notice any results but definitely getting there. I’ll continue applying Wet and Forget until the headstone comes close to being free from grime. Latterly I followed the diluted instructions.
This cleaning product is amazing.
I used this product on my garden paving which over the winter had become extremely dirty, the first day there was a difference but by approx one week the paving tiles were as good as new, it is also so easy to use spray it on and that’s it, no hard work or wasting water with a jet wash.
Brilliant produc
This stuff is actually magic!! I am a repeat purchaser as I bought to do my parents caravan last year and all the mould algae disappeared gradually and no return this year. I’ve sprayed my untreated fence which has gone green within 24 hours it has gone back to it’s original wood.
Very effective product! I used a spray to apply this and was very easy to do. It worked very quickly and could see a big difference over night. I used it in the late evening when it was it wasn’t too hot so it didn’t evaporate too quickly. I’d advise wearing a mask because it did irritate my throat a little
Cleans boat canvasses brilliantly
The canvas on my old boat had loads of algae and I had spent a fortune on other products and much elbow grease trying to shift it. Then I found this. Just dilute, spray it on to wet it, then forget it. After a month, the algae had mostly gone and so a second application was needed to get rid of the rest. I still had some left over, so I’ve used that on by block paved drive. Seems to be working on that, but slower. Highly recommended for marine use.
Great Quality
It’s now approximately 3 weeks since I applied the product to my block paved driveway,I think that it may be working, some areas are looking better,and the instructions do say that it can take quite a long time for the full effect to work, I’ll wait and see.
Love this stuff
After scraping out the weeds and moss from our double driveway of lock blocks, we apply this with a 4 litre container spray. It slowly lightens the blocks and also gets rid of the white and also black circles. It also helps keep the moss at bay. We don’t do it every year, but every two years.

We have used it on our patios for the last 15+ years. Just dilute as per the instructions, into a suitable sprayer ( bought ours from Wilko )
Spray when it’s dry, not windy . As soon as it rains , W x F starts to work . The first time we used our patio was really mucky , within 6 months it was looking so much better , and 6 months after that , the patio looked like new . Keep spraying each year to maintain, easy, job done
Very effective if you follow the instructions
Very effective if used properly. Kills as advertised. Simply mix spray and then leave. It’ll kill mould in a few days and keep it off for a good while depending on how much rain the weather brings.
As the formula ends up as an easily used spray you can all my to driveways, fences, walls, roofs very easily.
Wet & Forge
Used this on mould on my fencing and decking. Sprayed on, left until next day and all green algae/mould was gone. Does what it says on the bottle and recommended
Really impressed
Brilliant stuff, I had thick green algae on my fence and pergola treated with wet and forgot as per the instructions and I could see an improvement after an hour or two.
The next day the algae was completely gone.
It does leave a white residue in places but as I was painting my fence it wasn’t an issue.
On the face of it it seems quite expensive but you do dilute it and it goes a long way. I have quite a big fence and I only used less than half a bottle. Brilliant stuff.

I use this product every spring. Easy to use in my large sprayer. I can have my drive, patio area to the back and round the side of my house done in an hour.
Much cleaner than using a power washer. Does an excellent job.

Used on our largish block paving driveway which was absolutely plastered with heavily entrenched lichen. Dead easy. Followed the instructions. Didn’t use a more concentrated solution, or anything else, just did what it said. And then . . . nothing. No noticeable improvement for weeks. For so long, in fact, that I stopped checking.
Until post winter, about 9 months later I guess, when there were no cars on the driveway I suddenly noticed that it had all gone. Completely. I’m astonished enough to actually leave a review.
I’ve done the pressure spray approach before. It’s painfully slow and messy, especially if you do it properly and resand the gaps and seal the blocks. My pressure hose deals with dirt, but struggled with the lichen. So, in short, this is vastly easier and vastly faster and vastly more effective. Just vastly slower. So it’s a once a year thing – do it once, takes 20mins and never ever needs thinking about again.
Amazing!
This was amazing at getting growth off our fence. It says to apply when it won’t rain for 4-5 hours. Unfortunately I misjudged this and it rained an hour after applying, but it still removed all the green from the fence! It did strip/discolour some of the paint on the fence, but the paint was on year 4 of its apparent 5 year life span so that might have contributed!
Only complaint is the size of the bottle. I only needed to use 150ml (diluted with water, this did four fence panels and a wooden raised bed) so even if I’d been doing a whole garden/patio I wouldn’t have needed 5L. Would be nice to buy in a much smaller size, even if the price per L was higher.
After a couple of months using this product on some heavily lichen infested brickwork in my back garden, it has dramatically cleared. I followed the instructions to apply the product twice to affected areas within the first 2 days. I repeated a lighter spray after a week, and then a week after. I might have done it a third time but I cant remember. Nonetheless, a couple of months later The lichen while hasnt completely disappeared, has improved very noticeably. Get a pump sprayer to use and it what you have leftover can be used next time. Simple process but takes time to see the benefits.
Edit: I’ve added before and after photos to show the results! I havent sprayed any more beyond what I orginally stated and I’m pleased with the results and this product does work well, just give it time.
It works
At first I was sceptical about this product. I followed the instructions on how to mix the solution and using a garden sprayer to apply it at the back patio. The odour is not pungent at all. Easy to spray with a spray can. About half a week I noticed a very big difference as to how clean with the back patio was. I also applied it on the sleepers which were full of moss. Both the patio and sleepers are moss free.
I then made up a solution that was a little stronger than the recommended and I applied this on my driveway. I applied it in the morning and by the afternoon my driveway was most free and look so much cleaner than before.
Overall, I am pleased with this product and I shall be using it more frequently.
