Colors...
Did not know that for black/white print the printer needs colors aswell. Not really happy . I printing mainly in black and white so dont understand that it takes from colors and not often just time to times.
Guess it’s the same ol’ same ol’ with printer ink.
The printers themselves are often confusingly cheap. I paid 30 for my Canon printer/scanner from Argos. It replaced a similar HP printer which had given up the ghost.
The OEM ink is then more than the cost of the printer. Guess none of us know how they get away with it, they do though so we’re stuck with it and I’m used to it now.
Did try non-branded ink a few times, the printers seem to be better at sniffing it out now though and reject it, I assume for my own protection as the ink cartridge may explode or something and burn my house down.
This is the way it is. I moan about it until I find something else to moan about.
The ink prints fine for home use, I’m happy with it.
Expensive, quickly delivered
I occasionally think of buying cheaper non Canon refills but having had trouble with blockages in the past so I buy the Canon ones. Canon recommend using the printers weekly to avoid blockages. It cost me over 100 pounds to send the printer back to Canon and have a severe blockage fixed. Apparently the Canon cartridges contain anti bacterial chemicals which may help avoid blockages. Perhaps the extra cost is worth it in the long run.
