Pleasantly surprised
I bought a very expensive Ottocast U2 Air last year and have had nothing but trouble with it, to the point it was taking 45s to load and constantly failing.
So, I took the plunge and bought this Mavlou model while on offer, and I have to say that, apart from a few niggles, it works well with my after market I stalled unit on my Mazda 2.
Pros:
* loads surprisingly fast; faster than the Ottocast even when new
* no perceivable lag changing apps or switching tracks with Spotify from steering wheel control
* good quality audio
Cons: hence 4 stars
* having a few issues using Siri for dictating messages – Siri asks me which app I want to use, then promptly shuts down, but I’ve figured out that I need to say, ‘ message X using WhatsApp’ and it’s fine
* hung while using Waze once a speed camera alert popped up
* went a bit haywire when using Spotify
* the three circle screen keeps popping up – is that normal?
However, I have got iOS18 beta on my phone, so possibly an issue with that.
Will persevere and see what happens.
Seamless Transition to Wireless CarPlay: A Game-Change
The installation was incredibly easy. I simply plugged the adapter into my car’s USB port and followed the quick setup instructions. Within a few minutes, it was ready to go. The connection is consistently reliable. I haven’t experienced any significant lag or dropouts while using navigation apps, making calls, or streaming music.
Not having to connect my phone with a cable every time I get into the car is a major convenience. The adapter connects automatically when I start the car, which is a huge time saver. Very good CarPlay adapte
I purchased this adapter to replace my previous unit (different manufacturer) as I was starting to experience issues with connection and drop- outs. So far this Mavlou adapter has been very stable. It is a compact and smart looking adapter with power indicator & was super easy to get up and running. No fuss and functioning as hoped within a couple of minutes. Since purchasing, the adapter has connected first time every time and I have not had any problems with drop- outs. For the price, I think this a definitely a good unit to consider if you are thinking of getting a CarPlay adapter.
Easy set-up and value for money.
Very pleased with the Mavou, having previously needed to plug in my iPhone to be able to use the CarPlay interface, especially the SatNav app. The pairing and connectivity between device, car and phone is so easy. Literally paired and set up in moments and automatically reconnects when you return to your vehicle as long as your Bluetooth is on. Performance of CarPlay is unimpaired, still being able to move through apps and libraries the same as via a cable. Using this device will help prolong the life of the phone battery, too, avoiding unnecessary short-charging via wired connections. Competitively priced, it definitely gives value for money.
Amazing Value for Money
I bought this Mavlou Wireless CarPlay adapter a few weeks ago to simplify my iPhone CarPlay connection in my Peugeot 3008.
I was a little apprehensive before it arrived as there are many negative comments regarding these adapters. Not necessarily, this make, but generically. Many people seem to have purchased these devices from other manufacturers, but experienced issues.
To my surprise, the adapter worked first time, after I connected the device’s built-in WiFi network to my iPhone. I was presented with all of the iPhone CarPlay apps on my car’s infotainment screen instantly. Since that initial connection I have never had to re-connect the device, or change any settings.
The next test was to see if the Mavou device could switch between iPhones, as my husband uses his iPhone in the car as well. He connected his iPhone’s WiFi to the Mavou signal and his CarPlay menu appeared on the infotainment screen, and worked perfectly. With a little further testing the adapter seems to “remember” the last iPhone which was connected. If both of us are travelling, and we need the other iPhone connected, we just need to temporarily turn off the WiFi of the connected device, and the other mobile phone wirelessly connects!
In summary, this adapter does exactly what it should do. The sound quality on audio apps is good, the speed of connection is amazing, the device looks well made, it is small and can be hidden and with the current discount on Amazon, this is a terrific bargain.
Looks Nea
Looks good and is small enough to tuck out of the way in the car. Had some trouble setting it up, needed to have several tries before it would link to my phone, now starts up as you drive off and connects to iPhone. Sometimes it seems to get confused by other WiFi signals and will under these circumstances not connect to phone. Been using it for several weeks now and hopefully it will last longer than a different brand I bought last December.

Was a little sceptical when I purchased this adapter but have to say it is really good! Connected very easily no hassle getting it to work with my Ford, Great bit of kit! If you’re fed up with plugging your phone in every time you get in your car then buy one! 10/10 exellent!
No issues, works perfectly
There is probably a 0.5 second delay compared to wired Apple CarPlay but you honestly don’t notice it at all after a few days. Very easy to use but just make sure your phone isn’t connected to your cars Bluetooth when trying to connect.

Compatible with Vauxhall. Worked on my 2018. Car needs to originally have wired car play for it to work and only works with iphone.
Setting up was straight forward. Small and easy to store. Connects before i’ve even sat in the car.
Only down side is that it has a slight delay. Switching songs , pause/play etc. But not too bad.
Overall great product , Happy with it.
Work perfectly
Very easy to set up. So now I just get in the car and carplay is instantly there. Nothing to plug in or adjust once connected. Was worried wether it’s using power went engine off but seems to go into standby. It starts when my phone is close to the door. Love it. Ordered another one for my son-in-law.
