Fast read/write speeds, this is perfect as your OS or C:/ drive in your pc. I would wait until the tech improves before buying into the larger capacity models to see what heatsinks can really do.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersBuilt a new system and wanted to move away from SATA SSD’s. This drive offers exceptional speeds… 11,700Mb/s vs SATA’s 500Mb/s. Added benefit of giving my system a cleaner look as no additional cables are needed to use this drive (it connects straight to the motherboard).

Note: This drive does not come with a heat sink. If your motherboard does not have a heat sink, I would recommend adding one. Also, download ‘Crucial Storage Executive’ so you can update the drive’s firmware and monitor it’s health.

High price, but insane performance! Would recommend!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersI recently upgraded my setup with the Crucial T700 1TB Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD, and the speed improvement is astonishing. Transitioning from a mix of HDD and standard SSD to this latest NVMe technology has dramatically enhanced my system’s performance, especially noticeable since I’ve never had an AM5 platform before.

Installation was straightforward, and the performance boost was immediate. Boot times are significantly shorter, applications launch instantly, and my overall system responsiveness is through the roof. But where it truly shines is in gaming. My FPS has seen a noticeable improvement, making for a smoother and more immersive gaming experience.

    Tips for Potential Upgraders:

Ensure your motherboard supports Gen5 NVMe to fully leverage the T700’s capabilities.
Consider migrating your OS to the NVMe drive for the fastest boot times.
Regularly update your drive’s firmware to maintain optimal performance.
The DirectStorage support is a standout, virtually eliminating load times in games and enhancing my gameplay with quicker level transitions. With speeds of up to 11,700 MB/s, the Crucial T700 isn’t just meeting the advertised performance; it’s setting a new standard for what I expect from my storage solutions.

For anyone looking to significantly upgrade their system’s speed, especially gamers seeking that extra edge in performance, the Crucial T700 1TB Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD is a game-changer. It’s transformed not just how quickly my system operates but how smoothly my games run, offering a seamless experience that’s hard to go back from.

Golden Review Award: 18 From Our UsersBenchmarking shows this drive easily reaching the advertised read/write spec, this was tested as the boot drive on win 11 pro – asus z790 E gaming mobo/13900k cpu and team group 32GB ddr5 @7200, the crucial t700 was cooled using the rather large integrated motherboard heatsink and never went over 55c during benchmarking which is well below the throttling point. While the score for benchmark is impressive, sadly as I am mainly a gamer there are literally no games the would really make use of these insane speeds. Come to think of it, looking at the max read/write in hwmon, even gen 4 drive might still be overkill. goods news though, with the release of pcie gen 5, gen 4 drives have dropped significantly in price. So if your building a new pc and on a budget, stick with pcie gen 4 for now and use the extra cash and get a better graphics card.
