I was delighted to find, at last, a watering can where the handle is NOT over the hole used to fill it with water. So many make filling difficult because the placement of the hole means the can has to be held while filling it. That’s OK if it’s from a tap at waist height at the wall. I mostly use water butts, where the tap is low down. That means the best way of filling it, if not to do one’s back in, is to stand the can on the ground with the water stream lined up over the hole. That is possible with this can because the hole is to one side of the handle. Life suddenly became easier. However, when I started to pour, the water was not just coming from the rose, but pouring all down the back and over my feet. I turned the rose over, so that the perforations were now on the bottom and could see instantly what the problem is. There is a little V shape in the moulding, meaning the seal is not total between the perforated cover and the cone-ish shape of the rose. I’d like to think that this is a fault in this particular can, rather than a design. It’s not enough to make we want to go through the hassle of sending it back, but if the supplier felt he/she would like to replace the rose, I’d gladly accept.
