Is an Air Fryer worth it?

The Duronic Air Fryer AF34 stands out for its ability to cook meals in a healthier way, utilising rapid air circulation technology that drastically reduces the need for oil, cutting down the fat content by up to 80%. Not just limited to frying, this versatile appliance also bakes, grills, and roasts, offering a wide range of cooking options from crispy fries to roasted chicken, all while being incredibly efficient and user-friendly with its digital control panel. This combination of health benefits, versatility, and convenience make this dual Air Fryer a worthwhile investment for anyone looking to enjoy their favourite dishes in a healthier, simpler, and more efficient manner.

Below are some more questions regarding an Air Fryer:

Are air fryers healthy? Yes, dual air fryers are considered a healthier alternative to traditional deep frying. The Duronic Air Fryer AF34 uses rapid air circulation technology to cook food, which drastically reduces the need for cooking oil. This method can lower the fat content of your meals by up to 80%, making dishes like fried chicken, chips, and other traditionally oily foods much healthier without compromising on taste and texture.

How the Air Fryer works: The Duronic Air Fryer AF34 works by circulating hot air around the food at high speed, cooking the food and producing a crispy layer similar to frying. This is achieved through a combination of a heating element and a fan within the unit. The 2 drawer air fryer’s design allows heat to be distributed evenly, ensuring food is cooked thoroughly with a desirable crispy exterior. This method also cooks food faster than conventional ovens, making it an efficient cooking appliance.

Can I cook raw chips in my Air Fryer? Absolutely! You can cook raw chips in the Duronic Air Fryer AF34. The dual air fryer is perfectly designed for cooking homemade chips from raw potatoes. Simply cut your potatoes into the desired shape, add a minimal amount of oil if you choose, and let the 2 drawer air fryer do the rest. The result is crispy, delicious chips with a fraction of the oil typically used in deep frying.

Are Air Fryer chips healthy? Yes, chips cooked in a dual air fryer like the Duronic AF34 are healthier than their deep-fried counterparts. Because air frying requires significantly less oil, the chips have a lower fat content. This cooking method not only produces chips that are crispy and delicious but also better for your health, making it an excellent choice for anyone looking to reduce their oil intake without sacrificing taste.

What Can I Cook in an Air Fryer? The Duronic Air Fryer AF34 is incredibly versatile, allowing you to fry, bake, grill, and roast a wide variety of foods. From vegetables and meats to even baked goods, this dual air fryer can handle it all, making it a multifunctional appliance ideal for any kitchen.

How do I clean an Air Fryer? The Duronic Air Fryer AF34 is designed with convenience in mind, featuring non-stick, dishwasher-safe components for easy cleaning. The basket and pan can be removed and washed in the dishwasher, simplifying the cleanup process after cooking.

How Much Food Can I Cook in an Air Fryer? The Duronic Air Fryer AF34 has a generous cooking capacity, with a capacity of 10 litres, making it suitable for families or those who like to prepare meals in batches. It can cook a substantial amount of food in one go, making this dual air fryer perfect for ensuring efficient meal preparation.

Can the Air Fryer Help with Meal Prep? Yes, the Duronic Air Fryer AF34 can be a valuable tool for meal prep, thanks to its quick cooking times and versatility. You can prepare a variety of dishes ahead of time, from roasted vegetables to marinated meats, all ready to be reheated or served throughout the week using this dual air fryer, saving time and effort in your meal preparation routine.

    Love this air fryer!
I already have the well known branded air fryer with the twin drawers but wanted this one for the utility room as well due to the large drawer option. There is no difference between the cooking at all. Highly recommend!

    Versatile
I’ve had this model for about 2 months, it’s brilliant, and what made this model stand out is that it has 2 drawers as most do, but they can be replaced with a large drawer, so versatile. If you are thinking about getting a air fryer consider this one, especially now as I’ve just seen it is now 99.

    Great all round.
Bought this to replace our Duronic bought back in 2020. Loving the synchronising cooking and having two separate compartments. Haven’t used the large basket yet so can’t comment on that but I’m sure it will be just as good. The instructions are good but I wish you could still get a paper copy as we haven’t got a printer at the moment.
    Easy to wash.
    Would recommend.

    Best we've had
This is the 3rd style (and 2nd of this brand) we’ve had and love it.
First one was a round pull out basket one..3 years old, still working but too small
2nd one was pull-down oven style lid… nightmare to use as juices etc. went everywhere when you pulled out the cooking racks.

This one is great… being able to cook at two separate temps is fab. Easy to clean. Can use the silicone liners for “wet” foods e.g., adding sauces etc.

Instructions were not easy … no booklet …
I love it once I managed to work out how it works .. I wish there was a clear instructions book it would have been easier rather than have to down load it ! I am a pensioner .

Amazing piece of kit! Do not waste your money on the extortionate ninja! Was so tempted then saw this one. Read all the reviews and seemed OK for the money. Thank God I bought this and not a ninja. Saved a fortune. I’ve cooked in it everyday for a week and all the food has cooked perfectly. A whole chicken in less than an hour and it was so succulent with crispy skin. Roasties are to die for. Highly recommended

    Easy to use
I love that this air fryer has 2 smaller drawers to cook individual/smaller foods, but also has a large drawer for when the family all come round. It is easy to use, although, I’ve not tried the ‘sync’ function yet . I was doubtful about getting a brand I had not heard of but so far it’s been great. I even got one for my mum!

    Bought for my mother...
My mum has tried three different air fryers and returned them all for various reasons. I listened to the issues she had with them and suggested this one and she loves it.
It’s easy to use and clean. The twin baskets are a really good size for most of her cooking and then she has the versatility of the single large basket. I have a Ninja, why don’t they offer a single large basket as an accessory?
Anyhow, it works well, cooks well and she’s keeping it.

    Brilliant product for the price.
Exactly as described. With both 1 big draw & 2 smaller draws, it makes any cooking matters easier to manage (as can program both draws for different temperatures & times). easy to use, easy to clean & helps lower energy uses (also takes less times to cook food).Would highly recommend this product.

    Very impressed
Our old air fryer on/off touch button started to play up, so we decided to have a look for a new air fryer. When we saw this one, which came with 2 small and one large draw, we thought that was a great feature, especially for the price. Read the reviews and thought it was worth getting.
It has made a huge difference to cooking meals, with multiple drawers it is so easy to get it all cooked at the same time.
The other thing we really noticed was how quiet it was, we had to keep checking it was working when we first used it. Very impressed and imo great value.

    Very pleased.
Wanted a white one. Black too overpowering. The bonus of this one is you get a large drawer and 2 small ones. Really versatile. I have used several times and I am very happy with the reduced cooking times. Have bought a few bits for it..liners etc. I can see this being used every day. Easy to clean. Easy to see the food cooking through the windows. I use my thumb pad (rather than fingertip) for the touch controls and that works perfectly. Looks great on the kitchen side. Very pleased I didn’t waste all that money on a Ninja.

    Totally converted.
Whenever the question of getting an air fryer was mentioned I turned my nose up.
“Waste of money and space on worktop, gimmick, passing fad” were my usual comments!
However, the great price on Prime Day and the many ***** reviews (not to mention keeping the wife happy) made us take the plunge.
Now a week on I am totally sold. Use it every day for many different dishes.

i had thought long and hard before buying an air fryer ,now its used daily saving me money .
this product is simple to use , energy efficient easy to clean although i do use liners for most things
the size of the large drawer with a divider or the two single drawers are a great idea allowing for more flexable cooking choices .

Get the hang of the control panel
If you have used an airfryer before you know how economic they are to run and how little oil you need. This fabulous sized beast with the 3 drawers cooked perfect roast potatoes & parsnips for 4 while i steamed the green veg. We had a roast dinner in the garden after the hottest day & our kitchen wasnt overheated. I am still getting to grips with the control panel, but am sure it will be a cinch once i have

As good as my ninja was
I love this airfryer, it works as well if not better than my Ninja did but with the added bonus of the extra large drawer, which is so useful for doing things like a large whole pizza or chicken. Fries are crispier than the ninja, the ninja would cook some fries until they were burnt on the ends and others still limp and soggy, they are just perfectly crisp with this airfryer and it has ALL of the same functions (sinc finish and sinc cook) at a fraction of the price. 10/10

    Great airfrye
I love this bundle, the fact that you can choose either 2 smaller drawers or the one big one is a big plus for me over the more famous brand where you have to choose one air fryer or the other. With this Bundle of Duronic you get 3 drawers so can choose. Tried most of the cooking programmes and it’s easy to tweak temp and time if you need too.
Easy cleaning of the drawers just pop in dishwasher. Great purchase.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersFantastic Airfryer flexible options
First off this Airfryer is well made and feels quality, I hadn’t heard of Duronic brand but I thought I would give it a go. Let me say right away “don’t waste your money buying the over priced Ninja brand of Airfryer” they all cook by blowing hot air over the food in a drawer with temperature and time controls” and that is exactly what this does and does it very well. The pictures show a test of yuk sung in the Airfryer rather than a Wok. I have to say not everything is better in one I think the wok wins for this, but other things chicken drumsticks, pork, lamb joints, bread , cakes, sausages, bacon, onion bhaji, the list is endless. You’re paying for the name and advertising hype with the “fighting turtle” the principle is just the same. This was our first venture into airfrying tech, and having observed others purchases I decided the old rule still stands, ” if you’re going to have one have a big one ” if you buy a small one, single drawer, you will regret it after a short time, no room. This comes with 2 sets of drawers. One large drawer fo large batches or big joints which can be divided internally with a removable plate, but it also comes with 2 separate drawers so you can have split timed cooking items at different temperatures ( sync finish and sync cook nice feature) easy to clean drawers are supposed to be dishwasher OK but I have just washed under the hot tap and dish soap. Hot tip : use the paper liners each time saves a lot of cleaning . You’ll need to do some trial times and temperatures as it needs a lower temperature and shorter cooking time than a conventional oven. There are loads of info and recipes on line to help with this. Will it replace the oven? Hmm not sure, there are some limitations where a regular oven wins but it is certainly a handy addition to any kitchen . Will it save you money ? Hmmm…after taking into account the initial outlay, the running cost is certainly lower as the heating elements are lower power than a regular oven and the cavity is smaller, how long for payback regards cost/savings not as quick as they would have you beleive( any brand ) Is it health beneficial ? Yes certainly if you deep fried everything you ate this is considerably healthier as you use very little oil when cooking (tip) buy an oil spray bottle and put you oil in it as a mist of oil is needed not a “glug”
Overall the Duronic Airfryer is a very nice reliable unit and looks good too we chose the white but eaqually as nice in the black and the price is good too.

    Excellent bit of ki
I had a two draw Ninja that was very good and could not fault it but I wanted one with a large single draw and could not afford ninja money so carried on browsing and came across this on a sale, so bought it on a knee jerk reaction then read the bad reviews oops I thought any way it arrived unpacked it, although smaller than my ninja the draws/cooking pots were larger than my ninja and it had the all important large single draw it’s a tad different to use not over complicated it took me 5 min to work out without instructions (you have to down load them) it was every bit as good as my old ninja infact it was a lot more quieter than my old machine it cooked the food nice and even and I am very very happy with it and that big single draw is brilliant for 12 inch pizza or a full English I have not used my hob for over two years now I litterly air fry everything it’s a banging machine try it you will love i

I was using an goummia 5.7ltr single draw air fryer, which is a great but wanted something bigger. Checked all the air fryers that amazon had to offer, and decided on the Duronic AF34. I checked out all the reviews and took the plunge, especially as it had an extra 20 off. What a brilliant bit of kit as now I can cook a large pork joint and roast the spuds at the same time, and the crackling was perfect. It’s easy to use and clean. And looks good too. Only had this a week but very happy with the results. Having the large draw and 2 smaller draws is a must. My daughter has a ninja air fryer, and in my opinion the Duronic beats it hands down.

Did a huge amount of research beforehand & I’m really pleased that I purchased this model as our Airfryer. Ease of use (once you print the instructions off the internet), versatility having two small baskets (albeit even the small baskets aren’t small, I can cook a 1.7kg chicken in a small basket) & also one large basket. Quality of the item has been fabulous, it’s easy to clean, it isn’t noisy, it’s very speedy.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersNot just a fad!
So I’ll start by saying I wasn’t on the bandwagon with the whole air fryer thing, but my husband ground me down going on about how his friends wives cooked some amazing dishes with theirs. I was sceptical. Even after speaking to my friends and how they said “they couldn’t be without theirs” I thought I’d do a bit of secret research lol! Firstly I thought if I was to get one of these things I didn’t want a “big black xerox” type machine on my counter! So this brought me to to the Duronic or the white version of the ninja I kept going back to the ninja seemingly due to the hype around the brand but couldn’t justify paying for a machine I really didn’t want in the first place! So I purchased the duronic. When it was delivered my heart sank – the box was massive!! However on opening I was pleasantly surprised, on how well packaged it was. Firstly I set it up and that night my husband was like a child at Xmas! We cooked some frozen chips from sainsburys and some chicken kievs I had to admit I was wrong, the taste of the crispness was amazing and in half the time!! Anyway I’ve had the machine since February and literally have used the oven 3 times since! Although the touch panel is sometimes reluctant to touch (you have to use the flat of your finger) it’s incredibly easy to use and also clean! – I started with paper liners and silicone inserts but to be honest it’s easier to just clean it after use, rather than mess on with those things plus the food cooks better as the air circulates through the bottom rack. You need to ensure you pull the machine away from the wall as this is where hot air escapes. I’ve used it for fresh food, sausages, burgers, joints of meat, all different veg and frozen stuff my husband likes chips, breaded all sorts ie chicken, fish, scampi, calamari. I’ve done spring rolls, mozzarella sticks potato croquettes the list goes on! What I would say though, although you “can” do casseroles, lasagne those type of things they don’t seem to thicken up so I’ve learnt my lesson with those things and stick to the oven. I don’t think the duronic gets hot enough to cook them properly. Over all as a total sceptic I would say if your wavering – don’t! Just buy it! It makes midweek meals a breeze and if your like me with a man child whose a typical “egg & chips” man they will love it and you’ll find your dinner in the making when you get in from work lol

Was so sceptical, for months, then bit the bullet and got one. This is an amazing bit of kitchen kit! I got this as great reviews, fantastic price compared to a Ninja, and has the massive draw along with the 2 smaller. Covers all basis size wise for meals, and types. I wanted to make sure if I got one it would be big enough to cook everything together, and not turn main oven on as well. Not disappointed one bit, only had oven on once since got, and that was to do 2 big pizza’s.
Only negative reviews I have seen (and only a couple) is about no paper manual with it. Really…just download and view on phone/tablet or print off just the pages you need. And nothing wrong with touch controls either, extremely easy to use. Would definitely recommend

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersThe big drawer has been used every time but one.
1 vegetarian and 2 meat eaters in the household so we thought that we’d need the two drawers. Nope. Just use the big drawer with separate dishes/tins in. The divider and/or foil for any splatters.

When air fryers started growing in popularity we decided to get a deep fat fryer. Loved it but the oil doesn’t last long before it needs replacing. But chips are much much better than in the air fryer. That said, I am so very glad we bought this. Like some other reviewers, I can honestly say that it has been used every single day. Even toasting hot cross buns!

The design features are great. Easy to get it doing and you can adjust both the time and the temperature while it’s going. It pauses the setting/cooking if you open the drawer.
There are many suggestions for settings for various foods but with general cooking knowledge you just get to know. If not, just set for less time and check and add time/temperature if not done.

I haven’t tried baking in it yet. I’m not sure that I will. If I go to the effort of making up cake or bread, then I’m not sure I want to experiment.
Bacon wasn’t good. Ok, the bacon was great, crispy and better than in a pan, oven or grill but the cleaning up just wasn’t worth it. We haven’t yet bought any liners though. Just been using grease proof paper or dishes/tins.
Oh yes, don’t put grease proof paper in with nothing on it (pre-warm) because it will blow around, touch the element and scorch.

Golden Review Award: 82 From Our UsersBest kitchen gadget I’ve ever bought!
This is a fantastic air fryer — for the money it’s easily the best I’ve ever used. I’ve had mine for 6 months now and used it almost daily with zero issues. It’s certainly the most useful kitchen appliance I’ve ever bought!

One review complained that this Airfryer didn’t cook the food evenly. Preheating any air fryer before you put the food in tends to fix issues with uneven cooking as the drawer is uniformly heated before the food is placed in the basket.
As with all air fryers, there is quite a big element of trial and error. If that’s not your thing, or you don’t have time, then you may find it frustrating. This extends to accessories too. There’s not many bespoke accessories for this brand of air fryer, so you’ll have to experiment with accessories designed for other brands to see which works best with this one.
Again, if that’s not something you can be bothered with then this brand of air fryer may not be for you. But you pay a significant premium for the well-known brands and from my experience you aren’t getting more for your money.

    Pros:

    – Having one big drawer as well as two smaller ones is such a massive game changer for an air fryer and the main advantage of the Duronic over other (bigger) brands
    – Preset temperature and time settings for various food types makes it easy for anyone who is new to air fryers to get started
    – Synchronised cooking and finish-time options are extremely useful (though other brands also have these functions)
    – Far quieter than my previous premium brand air fryer, even with both fans operating
    – Looks smart & modern and feels sturdy and well built
    – Drawers are easier to clean compared to other brands I’ve used.
    – UK brand: based in Essex

    Cons:

    – You can only set the temperature in increments of 10, there is no 5 option.
    – 200 degrees C is the hottest it will go
    – The touch sensitive buttons are not the most responsive. Sometimes they respond and sometimes they don’t and you have to really press them to get them to work
    – There is no instruction manual, so anyone new to air fryers might have a challenge at first. (There is an online version)
    – Currently you can’t buy replacement single small drawers, only the single large one.
