Robust and well made. Has given life back to old laptop that had no option of upgrading. Attached by Velcro it’s increased storage x10. Hot-swapping between laptop and PC makes file transfers a breeze. Doesn’t need external power so can carry in pocket. Now I want a few more, one to hold all my music, and another to store large collection of videos for when I travel.
Speeds as expected, build quality seems dece
I tested this with a M2 drive I had from an old laptop. It was encyped so I performed a low level format which went without issue and once good to go tried pulling some files on and off of it to test the read and write speeds. All went without issue and the speeds were as expected based on the spec. Would recommned.
Good data speeds on 10Gb/s. Not tested at 20Gb/s.
The ‘INDMEM M.2 NVMe Enclosure, USB 3.2 Gen2 SSD Adapter Type C 20Gbps’ arrived in a printed box that also contained a USB C to USB C cable, screwdriver, washers and spare screws.
No instructions were provided with the case as in how to fit the NVMe and use the washers.
This is quite a compact case compared to some, and being metal it has a decent weight. On opening the case it was nice to find a heat sink attached to the base, The NVMe is installed inverted in the top of the case and held in place by screw and two fibre washers.
As I only have a 10 Gb/s connection, this is the connection I tested with.
I installed a 1TB Crucial P3 Plus NVMe into the case, and using CrystalDiskMark 8 I performed and recorded functional tests.
The results of the tests on the 10 Gb/s were 1076 MB/s which are approaching the maximum that connection can support.
I consider these to be well within what is acceptable for the drive and port speed.
