A really smart bit of kit – really useful for working outside on a sunny day. Shields the screen of my MacBook perfectly so I can actually see what I’m doing. Another unintended benefit is when working in a coffee shop (or any other public space) is it protects my screen from prying eyes. I have to be very conscious of GDPR and this Sun Shader does the job nicely. I had originally bought a cheaper knock off version but the quality was awful – definitely worth getting the original. Very pleased with this, I’ve just ordered my wife one too.

I say "almost" perfect because it is black and since it is used in the sun, it can get quite hot. Other than that it does exactly what I hoped.

This laptop sun shade is legit. It allows me to use my laptop outside with no glare making me more productive when I just need a change of scenery or want to catch some sun. It is also a helpful item if you get easily distracted and need to zero in on your computer screen without peripheral distraction or if you want to have more privacy and protect your screen if you typically work in public places or around others a lot. Anyone with a laptop who is on the go or loves the sun should purchase this as it just makes your life easier and your computer work more accessible in more environments. So happy to have this and to be able to enjoy my coffee on the porch in the mornings and still get to knock out some work without a big glare on the screen.

I tried out all the options on the market and this one wins. Well designed, compact, well made. Shields the sun very well. The new rubber clips are gentle on your screen and very discreet. Highly recommend for laptop users on the move.

I used to use anti-glare screen protectors and they helped but they were not anywhere near as effective as this shade. The shade is super quick and easy to set-up and knocks the sun glare right out. I use it with a Surface Pro and a 15" Dell laptop, and they work just fine. The shade is sturdy. You will want a table or solid service to set it up on.

This screen shade attaches with four clips to the top and the sides of a laptop screen and prevents light from reaching the screen even in the harshest (that is, strongest light) conditions. Took me a bit to realize how the clips work: have to insert the screen between each fixed, small tab and the curly plastic clip even though these are in contact initially. Do not try inserting the screen in the opening of the curly clip. Neither the product page, nor the included instructions, nor the manufacturer’s website show a good diagram of how these clips work, so there may be a bit of confusion at first — not a biggie.
The shade material has good rigidity, and the size provides very good coverage for my 15.6 screen. The velvety black interior is sure not to let any stray light reach the screen and cause reflections. Best image quality I could ever get on this laptop’s screen. On the flip side, the weight doesn’t let me adjust the screen too far back, the hinges give way, literally flipping under the added weight.
There are extra adhesive pads provided for the clips. The whole shade is foldable, easy to carry around and fitting in the same outer dimensions a 16″ laptop does.
The instructions provide a website address for registering in order to activate the warranty. There is no word about what the duration and conditions of the warranty are, the benefits of registering are not clearly stated.
This doesn’t solve the problem entirely BUT this design is getting closer (and may be the closest I’ve tried). It attaches to your laptop easily and quickly and is made of thicker felt which is blacked out and no sun gets through. It’s lightweight and easily folds to fit into any bag. Nice job.
