Got this for a 1Tb SSD drive that I had recently got and wanted to use as a external drive.
This one is really simple to use, you just push a button at the end and slide out the enclosure.
Slot in your drive and place the rubber holder at the end to keep the drive secure.
Simple, easy to use and does exactly what I need it to.
Currently priced 18.99 I’d say thats a good fair price and well worth the purchase.

This is a fantastic solution to adding support for a portable M.2 drive, giving similar functionality to a USB drive while gaining the long-term performance benefits of a full drive.
The enclosure itself works as a solid metal heatsink, which will help to disappate a lot of the heat generated during heavy, long-term usage, which can be an issue with tiny USB 3.1 drives in comparison.
The build quality seems fantastic, with the drive and enclosure slotting together nicely, and the file transfer speeds seem solid as well from my testing!

Ce botier, dont la coque est en mtal robuste, est rassurant. Il est pratique pour utiliser ses disques SSD partout, que ce soit la maison ou en dplacement, grce son poids lger et son faible encombrement. Il peut s’utiliser sur tous nos priphriques, par exemple sur son PC, sa PS5 ou son iPad.
Son principal avantage est qu’il est polyvalent, acceptant tous les SSD NVMe et SATA au format M.2. Utilisant la norme USB 3.1 Gen2, il assure des dbits de transfert ultra-rapides (jusqu’ 10 Gbits/s). Il peut se connecter aussi bien un port USB-C qu’ un port USB-A, grce ses deux cbles fournis. Le botier est aussi compact qu’un hub USB et ne chauffe pas (j’ai install le dissipateur thermique fourni).
L’installation du SSD au format barrette s’effectue facilement : il suffit d’ouvrir le botier, d’insrer le SSD dans l’emplacement prvu et de le scuriser en verrouillant le loquet. Il est automatiquement reconnu sous Windows 10. Il est important de rinitialiser et de formater le disque s’il n’a jamais t utilis.
J’utilise ce botier sur mon ordinateur portable depuis deux semaines. Les dbits de transfert sont effectivement ultra-rapides, ce qui me permet de travailler sur de gros fichiers Photoshop et vido sans latence.
J’apprcie la mise en veille intelligente aprs 15 minutes, ce qui permet de ne pas surchauffer le disque et de rduire la consommation lectrique. Le seul bmol : les cbles sont trs courts, ce qui oblige donc le botier rester prs des ports USB.
Je le recommande si vous souhaitez continuer profiter de vos donnes stockes sur votre SSD M.2 partout avec vous. Son prix actuel de 23,99 reprsente une bonne affaire.
Another great product from Netac!
I’ve been a long time fan of the Netac brand, ever since I bought my first flash-storage device from them many years ago. Because of that, I had high expectations for their M.2 NVMe enclosure, and I wasn’t disappointed.
The outer enclosure looks to me made from a single piece of anodised aluminium, with the top side having a heat sink built-in. Many of the other enclosures on the market don’t incorporate any kind of heat management measures, and some have even caused damage to the drives. Netac however are smart and have cleverly factored that into their product design. They also include a thermal pad in their kit which you can apply to the top of your drive, if required, which will further aid the heat transfer from the drive, to the enclosure.
Fitting the drive was a simple 30 second job, no screws, just a rubber plug that holds the drive in place. Once installed, the enclosure just slides together and that’s all there is to it. Opening the enclosure again just takes a simple press of a button and your in.
There are 2 USB cables provided, one USB-A to USB-C and another USB-C to USB-C. Both are thick, well made cables and work perfectly. At the time of writing this review, I had used my drive with the enclosure for simple backup activities and I was impressed with the overall performance. With the files I was transferring, I was reaching around 700Mbs but I’m sure that would be even faster if files were larger.
Overall, I’m impressed with this product and am happy to recommend. Good work Netac!
Gutes, schnelles und auch schönes Gehäuse aus Aluminium
Zunchst vorweg: Auch, wenn ich den Artikel im Rahmen des Vine Clubs als vergnstigtes (nicht gratis) Testmuster erhalten habe, erfolgt meine Bewertung offen und unvoreingenommen. Ich lege Mngel oder Dinge, die mich stren dar und bewerte das Produkt fair. Die Beschreibung des Versands ist irrelevant. Die Verpackung wird nur erwhnt, wenn es Besonderheiten gibt.
Folgendes Produkt wird von mir getestet:

Das Netac Dual-Protokoll Gehuse ist aus Aluminium und transportiert somit die Abwrme gut ab. Das Innenleben ist aber aus Plastik. Ist aber auch besser bzgl. mglichen Kurzschlssen etc.
Im Lieferumgang ist ein USB-C/USB-A und ein USB-C/USB-C Kabel, sowie ein Wrmeleitpad enthalten.
Fr den Zusammenbau bentigt es keinerlei Werkezeug. Einfach die Platte einlegen, mit dem Gumminupsi” arretieren, das Wrmeleitpad draufkleben und in das Gehuse einschieben. Fertig.
Die SSD wird nach dem Zusammenbau natrlich nicht vom System erkannt, das sie noch keine Partition enthlt. Mit einem entsprechenden kostenfreien Programm ist das aber sofort behoben und die Festplatte kann als externes Speichermedium genutzt werden.
Ich nutze die Platte mit einer Patriot P300 NVMe mit 512GB Speicher und habe Geschwindigkeiten von knapp 890MB/s (Lesen/Schreiben).
Da bin ich mit der Performance als externe Festplatte mehr als zufrieden an meinem USB-Anschluss. Wrde man die SSD intern einbauen, wrden sich aber noch schnellere Zugriffszeiten und Datenbertragungsraten erreichen lassen.
Es lassen sich aber auch langsamere SATA M.2 Platten in das Gehuse einbauen und betreiben.

Le botier Netac M.2 NVMe/SATA est un excellent moyen de stocker vos donnes avec des performances rapides. Il fonctionne avec diffrents types de SSD et offre des transferts trs rapides grce son interface USB. Le botier est solide et refroidit bien le disque dur. Aprs l’avoir utilis pendant quelques semaines, je suis content de ses performances et du fait qu’il conomise l’nergie grce une mise en veille intelligente.
En bref, je recommande ce botier ceux qui veulent une solution externe fiable pour leurs disques SSD. Cependant, il est un peu cher, et le cble inclus pourrait tre plus long. Globalement, je lui donne une note de 4,5 toiles sur 5. Il est compatible avec diffrents systmes d’exploitation comme Windows, macOS, Linux et Android, et vous pouvez l’utiliser pour stocker divers types de fichiers, y compris photos, vidos et musique.
Leistung okay für 10GBit USB 3.1 Gen 2
Getestet habe ich das Gehuse mit mit einer 500GB Crucial NVMe SSD an einem Mac Studio. Sequentielles Lesen und Schreiben geht deutlich ber 800MB/s. Das passt fr USB 3.1 Gen 2. Leider habe ich keine SATA M.2 SSD zum Testen, aber da wird die Geschwindigkeit vermutlich etwas geringer sein. Die Verarbeitung ist gut und SSDs knnen sehr einfach und Werkzeuglos ein- und ausgebaut werden. Es liegt ein USB-C auf USB-C und ein USB-C auf USB-A Kabel bei. Es knnen M.2 SSDs unterschiedlicher Lnge genutzt werden. Fr den Dauerbetrieb und Last wrde mir die Wrmeableitung ein wenig Sorgen machen, denn es ist doch einiges an Luft zwischen der SSD und dem Metallgehuse. Es gibt zwar ein Thermopad zum Aufkleben, aber da man den inneren Teil des Gehuses in die Hlle einschieben muss, gibt es auch damit keinen wirklich guten Kontakt zwischen Gehuse und SSD. Daher wrde ich einen Dauerbetrieb mit viel Last auf der SSD nicht empfehlen.
Fast Transfer, Dodgy Cable
This is amazing, accepted every one of my SSD’s, it’s actually the second one of these I have. I use on on a Raspberry Pi, for it’s speed and works well, this one however, didn’t work at first and it turned out it was the USB to USB-C cable which was faulty.
I swapped it for a replacement which I have a drawer full of and away it went at it’s fast speed. I’ve not benchmarked it, but it’s quick enough over USB 3 to max out the channel speed. (it lost 1 star for a dodgy cable)
Schnell, kompakt, kühl, einwandfrei
Das externe Festplattengehuse fr NVMe SSDs mit M.2-Schnittstelle kann sich sehen lassen. Es ist sauber verarbeitet und wirkt aufgrund seines Khlrippendesigns sehr edel, das aber gleichzeitig auch dafr Sorge trgt, eine eventuell entstehende Abwrme abzufhren.
Grundstzlich sollten selbst bei lngeren Lese- bzw. Schreibvorgngen jedoch keine allzu hohen Temperaturen entstehen. Eine SSD mit PCIe 3.0-Schnittstelle schafft im Limit immer noch dreimal so viel Datentransfer, wie es dieses Gehuse zulsst, womit die jeweils eingesetzte SSD vermutlich nie an ihrem Leistungslimit ankommen wrde.
Das heit aber nicht, dass dieses Gehuse bzw. die verbaute USB C-Schnittstelle langsam ist: dank USB 3.1 Standard bertrgt die verbaute SSD mit knappen 1 Gigabyte pro Sekunde in beide Richtungen und auch die mittlere Zugriffszeit liegt mit ca. 0,05 Millisekunden in einem sehr guten Wert.
Somit wre es auch problemlos mglich, dieses Gehuse mit der passend verbauten SSD als externes Spielelaufwerk fr z.B. Spielekonsolen zu verwenden – fr den PC selbstverstndlich auch.
Sehr gut gefllt auch der Verriegelungsmechanismus, bei dem kein Werkzeug bentigt wird und man lediglich mit einer kleinen Kunststoff-Klammer die SSD an Ort und Stelle hlt. Es gibt sogar eine kleine Ersatzklammer dazu, falls man aus irgend einem Grund die bereits im Gehuse eingesetzte verlieren sollte.
Desweiteren wird auch ein Wrmeleitpad mitgeliefert, damit die verbaute SSD auch tatschlich die Wrme an das Gehuse bertragen kann. Selbstverstndlich sollten zuvor die Schutzfolien des Wrmeleitpads entfernt werden und bei einer SSD wie der von mir eingesetzten (siehe Bild) sollte zuvor der werksseitige Aufkleber bzw. Khlkrper entfernt werden.
Abgerundet wird das Ganze mit zwei passenden Datenkabeln – einmal USB C auf USB C und einmal USB A auf USB C, womit die breite Masse an Gertschaften zum Betrieb dieses externen SSD-Gehuses abgedeckt wird.
Ich kann diesen Artikel uneingeschrnkt weiterempfehlen.
Boitier bien comple
Voici un bon boitier pour se crer un disque externe. Il accepte tous les formats de M.2, s’installe trs facilement et la coque dissipe bien la chaleur (mtal). Il est donc un peu chaud / tide l’utilisation, ce qui est normal et rassurant. Il est livr avec un pad thermique pour amliorer le refroidissement ainsi qu’un loquet supplmentaire si jamais vous perdez / cassez le premier. 2 cables sont galement livrs (USB C vers USB C et un autre vers USB A), mais il ne sont l que pour dpanner car assez court, mme si cela peut suffire selon votre utilisation.
A l’usage, je n’ai rien redire, le design est assez sobre et beau, et les performances semblent raisonnables mme si je n’ai pas t jusqu’ mesurer les dbits. Pour le fiabilit il faudra voir dans le temps, mais la coque en mtal semble assez robuste pour supporter les compressions et rayures. Ce seront les chutes qui le maltraiteront le plus, prenez en soin donc, comme tous les autres boitiers.

Better than my previous
I like these multiprotocol enclosures because I use that not just to turn SSDs into dongles but also as a ‘drive caddy’ when working on PCs.
I have one already and it is great, supports SATA and NVME drives so I never have to worry about compatibility issues, but it uses screws.
This enclosure really impressed me because of its entirely toolless design, a plastic button opens the case, a rubber stopped secures the drive (a spare is also included).
I had this thing open, installed, closed and plugged in within seconds and without requiring a screwdriver.
Quality dual protocol tool free SSD enclosure
The Netac M.2 NVMe/SATA dual-protocol SSD enclosure comes with a spare locking pin, a thermal pad and quality USB-C to USB-C and USB-C to USB-A cables. The enclosure itself is made from an aluminium alloy and it has fins on the bottom for better heat dissipation.
The enclosure is tool free and it is very easy to open and insert an SSD, which can be either an NVMe type or the slower SATA type, I have only tried it with an NVMe SSD, because that is the only type that I own and it is faster anyway.
In order to get the best speeds from the enclosure, your computer needs to support USB 3.1 Gen 2 or 10Gb/s.
I tested the enclosure using a fast SSD and a laptop with a 10Gb/s USB port.
Using a 4GB test file, the reported read speed was just over 1066MB/s and the write speed was just over 1051MB/s, these values are very good and are typical speeds for 10Gb/s ports.
The enclosure has an offer of 20% off at the time of this review which makes it good value for money considering the fact that it also supports dual protocols.
Update: 2/2/24 – I have removed 1* because the USB-C to USB-A cable is defective, it only supports USB 2.0 speeds (40MB/s). It doesn’t matter which way round the USB-C end of the cable is connected, the speed is the same.
Excellent NVMe Enclosure, works well.
This enclosure appears very well made from good quality materials. The Aluminium Outer shell is anodised to the currently popular Gunmetal Grey colour with a hint of blue. One side of the case has a useful cooling fin arrangement along it’s length which is substantial enough to provide some useful cooling (not just for show). Included are not just a USB C to C cable but also a proper USB 3.x 9 pin USB A to C cable. Both cables are approx 500mm/20″ long. They are reassuringly thick. I’m guessing the short length is to maximize data transfer rate. There’s also a spare fixing bung to hold the drive in place within the enclosure. The clearly marked ‘open’ button opens and closes with a reassuring click.
The Dual SATA/NVMe protocol extends the usefulness of this enclosure.
Toolfree drive fitting is very straightforward. I fitted a Samsung 990 Pro 1TB NVMe drive. The supplied thermal pad is of limited use because it doesn’t make contact with the outer shell when the enclosure is all closed up.
Drive installation to Windows 10 is simple enough. I plugged the drive into the best USB socket available on my PC, which is a USB A 3.1 Gen 2, theoretically good for 10Gbps. If the NVMe drive is new, you’ll need to format it via Disk Manager (see pic). Once formatted, the drive is recognised as ‘WH51’ to a basic extent in Samsung Magician (see pic), though none of the Samsung Magician functionality is useable.
CrystalDiskInfo extracted considerably more info from the 990 (see pic). I ran CrystalDiskMark and got just over 1000MB/s (8.44Gbps) Read and just over 500MB/s (4.02Gbps) Write (see pic). Assuming the USB connection is the bottleneck, when you factor in the fact that the USB 3.1 Gen 2 connection is only good for 10Gbps, 8.44 is not that bad – I’m happy with it.
Temperatures peaked at about 48C during the Benchmark, though the drive was resting on the upper 180mm/7″ fan grille of my tower case (with fan running).
Using a 990 Pro drive, which is capable of approximately 7500MB/s write in a PCIe 4 or higher Motherboard is a bit of a waste but I was just testing. A lesser performing drive might be better, given the inherent bottleneck of the USB connection.
In summary, this enclosure is really good, well made and well implemented.
Speeds as expected.
The ‘Netac Dual-Protocol Hard Drive Enclosure M.2 NVMe, SATA, USB3.1Gen2’ arrived in a branded box that included a USB C to USB C cable, USB C to USB A cable and heat transfer pad.
The Netac case was easy to open by a simple press of the lock allowing the tray to slide out. The tray is made of plastic and has a pre-fitted rotatable memory card support for 2280 devices, rather than the need to use a screw as is sometimes used. The advantage I find of the rotatable card support is that cards can be easily swapped if needed.
One thing that I did find was a bonus is that a heat transfer pad was provided to aid dissipation through the case, some of the other cases I have did not come with one.
After installing a 1 TB Crucial P3 NVME I performed tests using CrystalDiskMark 8 and the results can be seen in the pictures.
The results are comparable to my existing external NVME and I find them quite acceptable.

Le botier alu permet la dissipation de la chaleur. La bande thermique permet d’amliorer cette dissipation.
Trs bons dbits grce la norme USB3.1 GEN 2 pouvant thoriquement atteindre 10 Gbit/s.
Pas de vis : facile ouvrir, monter.
