Nice product. Late delivery
The product looks good and works fine. I was a bit disappointed with the delivery. I paid extra for a same day delivery. The package didn’t arrive and the tracking then said it was going to take 2 more days for it to arrive. I needed the product urgently and I was left wondering if I should order another one from someone else. It ultimately arrived a day later than I had paid for.
Awesome for the price so I bought two.
Quality version of the charger. My second original charger failed shortly after I got my first one of these as a replacement. I was so impressed with the first one of these I quickly snapped up another. Price is amazing in comparison to Microsoft’s genuine chargers. Charging seems quick and connection is always there unlike issues I had with genuine chargers.
Good replacement charger with better grounding/earthing, and at a sensible price
My original Surface Pro 5 (2017) charger failed with a broken internal wire. I replaced it with a non-Microsoft charger and that lasted three years until a frayed wire at the Surface connector stopped power flow. This new charger appears almost identical to the previous replacement but is a 65W one instead of 44W. I suspected the previous charger, while it powered the Surface fine, didn’t have proper grounding/earthing and this resulted in erratic trackpad behaviour on the attachable keyboard – many other Surface users have reported a similar issue. I’m happy to report this new charger allows the trackpad to work consistently smoothly and accurate again without needing to hold the Surface side (effectively grounding oneself on the metal frame).
This replacement didn’t come with a travel bag or Velcro cable tie which is a shame, but fortunately I can use those from my previous charger. I hope this replacement lasts at least 2-3 years.
Better than the original at this early stage
I was always surprised that Microsoft never withdrew the original charger supplied with our Surface Book. The charger box (transformer) always over heated and needed to be watched carefully. However, the reason for replacing it was that the wire which ran into the magnetic plug-in, very quickly bent and eventually wore through despite reinforcing tape. I am delighted with this replacement although it is obviously early days. It is indistinguishable from the original, doesn’t overheat and the wiring seems more robust with no predisposition to kinking. So far excellent in all aspects.
