The handle seems slightly flimsy and wobbly, but without it it is ideal to use on flat surfaces, not as good when trying to do tiles and i would like one with a better water storage capacity as it runs out to fast.
I wanted a multi-purpose steam cleaner at an affordable price and I am really happy with this purchase.
I also wanted something that was small, lightweight and easy to store and this ticked all the boxes.
This steamer can be used for windows/glass/mirrors, tile grout, as a steam mop and carpet steamer and garment steamer.
So far I have used it as a car seat cleaner,
carpet steamer, glass cleaner, tile cleaner and steam mop. The steam by itself is ok but I was super happy with the results when I paired it with a steam detergent. The house smelt amazing after doing the carpets and floors. I used it on hard wood floors and while it took a little longer to dry than a well wrung mop the floor was not saturated and dried within 10 mins. It sends out really good steam with only a little excess dripping.
If you have a huge carpeted area or floor surface area then this isn’t the steam cleaner for you as you will have to refill regularly but it was perfectly suited for me as the carpet area is quite small in my house. The extension cord is also quite long which is a bonus. You can cover a good area before you run out of cord.
So happy with this purchase- with a baby on the way and a toddler in tow this steam cleaner will be great for sanitising my house at regular intervals!
I opted for this model as I had borrowed one previously to try before I bought.it’s easy to assemble, has various cloths for various jobs including one for garments one for windows one for floors and carpets included was a free sachet of descaler. The chord was extra long which is a plus as so many Electrical items come with a shorter chord.i found that setting 2 was enough for my lino floor as I think any higher would have been too powerful and could distort it,be careful with wood flooring especially laminate if there’s any gaps as steam gets right under and again can damage it.
The only thing I think it may be a bit heavy for doing windows and not yet tried it as it only came today.Yesterday I washed all my floors which are lino or laminate and have been at work all day and live alone apart from my cat ,I used the steamer as soon as It arrived and could not believe how dirty the cloth was .reason I got this steamer was I have Arthiritis all over especially my spine and hips and wanted to do away with the heavy mop bucket when filled with water and also the need for not using chemicals anymore ,steam is much better although I will still wash my floors I will mainly use this especially having a cat and a Grandchild that is like a human hoover he’s 15 months old and pick everything off the floor and straight in his mouth. The steamer left no streaks on my floor so imagine it will leave windows streak free too and mirrors.Reading some of the reviews people have said it does not stand up on its own..it does you push it forward away from you and it clicks into place although I couldn’t see anywhere in the instructions that told you this, you then put your foot on the front and pull it back to unlock it.The reason I am giving it 4 stars is the water tank which holds 400 ml of water but you only get about 10 minutes of steaming and then it needs refilling ,I like the head of the mop too as it swivels and has a point so you get in all the corners.would recommend this to anyone. You can buy extra cloths too from Amazon or Thane which is the supplie
I will start with the assembly of the mop, it’s click in so handle is very straightforward. I had a problem with the steam mop head, I didn’t read reviews properly so I missed a vital review about Thane! I used a universal mop head pad it was the type you can put over the head and pull it shut. Well it must have kept all the steam in and it blew the mop head (where the ball sits) the spring just warped! So I purchased another mop head from Thane direct UK, not too expensive! Reason I didn’t return it is a great cleaner, floors only take seconds to clean and you can see the that they have been cleaned. It has a great long cable no need to use adapter to reach awkward places, it’s a reasonable size for getting in behind the toilet, corners. I purchased the Red Super! It has 3 separate bags with 3 types of mop pads (noodle) one for the window’s and clothes. Only thing is that the water tank is stuck in the body of the mop. My old one has tank that comes out of the body. So need to be careful when filling it up, also if you have hard water will need to use limescale removal (which is provided). It also stands when not in use just click in to the head and click it forward and it stands.
This is the 5th one of these I have bought. It’s OK and does get into some awkward places and cleans OK. Certainly does not work like it shows on the TV channels and videos, they are clearly ‘rigged’.
One tip I can offer is ONLY use distilled water. It says you can use tap water. You can, but your steamer will eventually scale up and stop working. I went through 3 steamers until I realised their claim of using tap water is wrong.
Also try not to drop the steamer. easier said than done. It doesn’t have an easy way to put it down when you are doing something else and the wire is so long, it is easy to trip over and the item comes crashing to the floor. I now only put mine on the floor when doing other stuff.
The steamer doesn’t always give a continuous flow of steam. It ‘chugs’ which is annoying, so make sure the tube inside the water tank is always under the water.
It is good at getting rid of stuff under the where the taps or toilet seat sits o the sink/porcelain. Run it around there and you will see stuff come out, no matter how clean you think you’ve been.
Overall it’s a good sanitiser and good for kitchen cupboards and worktops. Must me OK, I’ve bought so many! 🙂
Been using this now for a month on various tasks so ready for a review being used in a house with 2 adults and 3 large hairy dogs. Just before the steam is ready it does spatter a bit. This is no different to any other steam mop I have used but some reviews I have read see this as a negative. I just mop this up and use as extra moisture when I start cleaning and makes no difference to the end result especially if you’re cleaning your shower unit. Attachments are great and easy to swap out. The length of the cable is also super handy especially when doing the stairs. Water vessel doesn’t hold a lot but it does last and as it takes no time at all for the steam to start (even if using cold water) it’s pretty much a non issue. I do agree with some other reviews that it can be a bit on the heavy side when using as a mop but I think it’s the placement of the water unit and a smallish mop head. However, when used as a mop it does pivot very well and gets round corners. Lastly it would have been nice to get an extra mop pad. Come on guys for the price of the unit I am sure you could have spared at least one more .
