Makes Filling the Bird Feeder Less of a Chore!
My daughters love feeding the birds (and inadvertently also the squirrels) but it’s often a bit of a nightmare between storing the open bag of seeds and then trying to scoop from that bag into the bird feeder.
This is where the SuperScoop has made this less onerous (well for me at least!).
This can easily hold around 1kg of the bird seed mix that we buy. Making it easily ready to go for around 4-5 full feeds. Filling is also incredibly easy thanks to the wide side, it’s just a case of cutting a corner off the seed bag and pouring in, making spilling any an almost impossible task.
The bottom of the SuperScoop is flat so it can be stored easily on a shelf horizontally once filled.
In terms of filling feeders, the small side ensures that you can pour accurately with next to no seed wasted – which was often our problem when scooping out of the bag previously.
One minor complaint I had is that I can’t quite fill one of my feeders with this (pictured) it would be better if the spout of the small hole was slightly elongated to fit into tighter areas.
Otherwise, this is certainly a 5 star product for me, very chuffed!
Easy-to-use bird seed scoop
Keeping the bird feeders topped up used to be a messy ordeal — not anymore! This scoop makes it so simple. The generous size holds a good amount of seed, and the shape lets me carefully pour into the feeders without losing a single grain. It feels sturdy too, like it’ll handle all kinds of weather withoutanissue.

Easy to Use and Robus
This scoop arrived without any packaging.
The first thing that strikes you is the size. It’s huge! When I first saw it I thought I wouldn’t be able to use it as we keep our bird food in buckets and I thought this would never fit in.
However, when the bucket is full it’s easy to scoop enough food out to fill a feeder and when it’s running low I simply have to tip the bucket over a bit to fill the scoop.
The designers have thought this through as there’s a little lip just inside both openings and this makes it really easy to control the flow of seed into the feeder. We have several different types of feeder and used to use several scoops but now we have one that can fill all of them.
At 11.99 it’s not cheap for a plastic scoop but it’s well designed, easy to use and pretty robust so it gets 5 stars.
Nifty useful scoop
I’d forgotten I’d ordered this and when the large box arrived I wondered what on earth it was. Its much bigger than I thought. I got this for my husband who fills up the bird feeders using a mug which is time consuming and a bit hit or miss. With this he can open the box and scoop up a goodly amount all in one go. Its good it has a flat bottom to rest it whilst juggling with the next feeder. The other great thing about it is the colour. Everything gets lost in our garage. I’ve had to buy pink handled gardening tools to find them and this orange makes it easy to see on the shelf.
Simple and effective and if he stops feeding the birds I’ll probably use for measuring out my dogs kibble as various diets mean I have to bag up
Useful for scooping birdseed
This is one of those useful gadgets you never knew you needed! I buy wildbird seed mixes in bulk sacks, and this scoop is perfect for getting the seed out without spills. The scoop is made from strong, solid plastic, and has a wide end and a narrower end. You can scoop loads of seed up into the wider end, and because of its shape, when held horizontally the seed is held in the central bit until you want to pour it. The narrower end is perfect for pouring into seed feeders. I imagine it would also be perfect for scooping dry cat or dogfood mixes, too- or could be used to scoop potting compost from bulk bags. All in all, a thoroughly useful scoop!
A handy implement you didn't know you needed!
The super scoop is fantastic. Easy to use, robustly made and minimises mess when putting bird seed into feeders. It works exactly as the instructions state, with seed going into the wider top and out the narrow end into the feeder. This is useful for all types of seeds and makes keeping the birds feed very easy! A handy piece of kit you didn’t know you needed.
more suited if you have a large sack of seed
his was bigger than i expected and prob more suited if you have a large sack of seed, would be brilliant if they did a smaller size, i still managed to use it i pored seed into it from my smaller bag and it made carrying seed out to the feeders easy and i didn’t have to take the bag outside which is a bonus if its raining, the flat bottom means you can set it down on the ground without seed falling out, it poured seed in feeders easily without spilling any. i knocked one star off just because it is a bit on thee big side if you don’t have a large sack, it did make it easy to pour any seed i had over back into my smaller bag without making any mess on the floor in my porch
Very useful if you have several feeders and buy food in bulk.
Jacobi Jayne Super Scoop: This is a great accessory if you have several bird feeders around the garden and buy larger containers of bird seed. It’s a nice practical solution to scooping-up, quite a lot of seed and transporting it to the feeders.
The narrow end will fit most standard feeders – about 2″ and it has a nice flat bottom to enable it to be safely set down. It’s very cleanable and so bright you’re unlikely to mislay it. Most of my feeders are suspended on branches and I try to fill without actually taking them down, will say that it’s a bit tricky with this, but manageable with a bit of practice. For 11.99 it’s a good buy and makes feeding time a bit easier.
Well designed, makes filling my bird feeders a breeze.
I have a number of bird feeders in my garden so my indoor cats can watch “cat TV”. My disabled mother enjoys watching the large variety of birds too, but filling the feeders can be a pain, but this is a great bit of kit which makes it a breeze.
The funnel is large enough that I can fill two feeders at once, and it has a flat portion so I can stand the funnel on its side when full without spilling any of the seed, which is a brilliant design. The handle is a good size and well placed, so it’s easy to scoop the seed and then pour it into the feeders.
Overall I’m very pleased with this item, it makes it super easy to fill the feeders in record time, and fits into the top of the bag of seed when not in use. 5*
Bigger than expected but very useful!
I assumed this scooper would be much smaller but to my surprise it was HUGE! It is definitely large and can fit a good amount of whatever you are trying to put in/ transfer elsewhere. The material it is made out of also feels very durable as it is quite thick!
I was planning to use this product for little things around my home but as it has turned out to be bigger than I thought I have been using it to transfer rice and flour bit by bit. It has been quite helpful and I love that it can easily be washed, too!
Big but brilliant!
I have quite a few bird feeders around the garden so I buy seed in sacks and I have to say, this is fantastic! It’s far better than I was expecting. For a start, it’s a lot bigger, about 17″ long, the larger hole for scooping about 5″ wide, the smaller end (that you put into your feeders), a mere 2″. This means you can scoop a lot of seeds, and I mean a lot! Then head into the garden to start filling.
It has a flat bottom, so you can put it down. It is cumbersome, because it’s big, so if you have feeders hung quite high, this might be more challenging. For me, I had no issues and because it takes so much seed, I managed to fill a few with just one scoop. I’d previously unloaded some of my sacks into 10L tubs, as they were lighter to take around the garden, and I found these easier to pour into the wide end, rather than using as a scoop, so if you buy smaller sizes, this still works well.
I must admit, I’m sold. It’s a a great bit of design and I think it would work for most dry feeds, so it’s very versatile. I like the orange too (it is very bright). Highly recommended.
Excellent - particularly if you have multiple feeders
INTRO & DESCRIPTION
As someone who has various bird feeding stations dotted around the garden, I was pleased to see this SuperScoop by Jacobi Jayne. Previously I have just used a standard garden scoop which is open and has no funnel, so some of the seed/nuts etc ends up spilling onto the floor (much to the delight of the local pigeon population)
This scoop is bright orange, ensuring no chance of losing it. It is also much larger than I anticipated and allows you to carry the seed to various locations around the garden
It has a good strong handle, is lightweight, and has a flat bottom (and we all love a flat bottom!), meaning it will balance on a flat surface.
In conclusion, if you have just one birdfeeder, then this may be a bit of an overkill, however, if, like me, you have several feeders and bird poles dotted around, this saves the job of walking back and forth to wherever you store your seed, and is an ideal solution. It would also be perfect for dishing out dry dog food, and would be great for anyone with either an aviary or kennels.
It has certainly helped me keep my feathered friends happy (not so much the pigeons), and I am happy to recommend it.
Good quality but seems expensive
This is a very large scoop at about 37cm long, and can hold a lot of pet food or seed. ideal for filling smaller containers from large bags of feed. It seems high quality but I still think the price is high for what it is.
Does the job but a cap at each end would work bette
This is a nice bird food scoop – it is reasonably large and easy to grab some seeds from a large bag but I am finding that I tend to spill a fair amount if not careful when walking around the garden. Having a cap at the end – ideally both ends, would work so much better. Otherwise it is a nice to have item, it definitely makes filling feeders easier job and I love the colour.
Bulky
This very large and for a lot of bird feeders would be too big. However the simple design would probably be a better fit for usage with pets or in the garden. Pricey for what it is though.
