Better than any other on the marke
If you using a lot your quest and tired of your controller slipping out of the regular hand grip then look no further! I love the small ” battery door” cause it’s very convenient for putting in and removing your battery after each use of it.
The quality of the material is very good, soft and non slippery.
I use it over a month every single day and it’s still in intact condition.
Highly recommended!!
Quest straps
A little difficult to get onto your controllers but when on your grip is magnified and the strap ensures you don’t accidentally end up lobbing your controller when attacked by zombies!
Nice product to have as an accessory to your quest set-up
Good grips
Good quest 3 grips that work really well.
They fit very snug, feel really good in the hand and make prolonged use much more pleasant.
Build quality seems really good and I can’t find any flaws.
Good produc
Comfortable VR controllers
I play VR games regularly and the standard controllers started to feel a bit slippery, particularly in more intense games. This grips solved the problem perfectly. The silicone material gives me a much more secure grip, so I haven’t come close to accidentally flinging a controller. My hands also don’t get as sweaty anymore. The design is also smart, making it super easy to swap out the batteries when needed.
Easy battery swap and secure gameplay
Swapping batteries quickly has always been a bit of a hassle, but with these grips, it’s no longer a chore. The material feels sturdy, comfortable enough for hours of play, and the design keeps the controllers secure, even during the most intense sessions. Tracking accuracy doesn’t suffer either, thanks to the clever design. It’s been a noticeable improvement in gameplay experience.
Leveling Up with KIWI Design’s Upgraded Controller Grips for Quest 3: A Gamer’s Review
Navigating the virtual worlds of the Quest 3 just got an upgrade that feels like swapping out your old, trusty sword for a gleaming, enchanted blade. The KIWI Design Upgraded Controller Grips Cover, complete with battery opening protector and knuckle straps, is the kind of accessory that makes you wonder how you ever ventured into VR without it. Here’s a deep dive into why these controller grips have become as essential to my gaming setup as the headset itself.
First off, the fit and feel of these grips are like a custom suit of armor for your controllers—snug, secure, and designed with the serious gamer in mind. The battery opening protector is a game-changer, ensuring that the immersive experience isn’t cut short by a rogue controller losing power at a critical moment. It’s a simple feature, yet it solves one of the more nagging issues I’ve had with VR gameplay. Then there are the knuckle straps, which are the unsung heroes of this setup. They provide a grip that’s not just comfortable but ensures your controllers stay tethered to you, even when you’re swinging wildly to fend off enemies or reaching new heights in your favorite climbing game.
But it’s not all about brawn; there’s brains behind this design too. The material of the grips themselves speaks volumes of KIWI’s attention to detail. They manage to add extra grip without increasing sweatiness, which is a feat akin to performing a perfect 10 in gymnastics. They’ve essentially taken the Quest 3 controllers, which are already pretty great, and turned them into an extension of your own hands.
There is, however, a minor learning curve to getting the grips on properly, especially the first couple of times. It’s a bit like trying to wrangle a set of rebellious goblins into a straight line—tricky but far from impossible. Once they’re on, though, they feel so integral to the VR experience that going back feels like you’re handicapping yourself.
To wrap it up, the KIWI Design Upgraded Controller Grips for Quest 3 have been a revelation. They enhance gameplay by leaps and bounds, making every virtual adventure more immersive and less taxing on your hands. If you’re deep into the Quest 3 universe and looking to upgrade your gear, these grips are your ticket to a more comfortable, uninterrupted gaming marathon. Just be prepared for a slight wrestle at the start; after that, it’s smooth sailing—or should I say, gaming.
Fantastic grips
You can tell a lot of thought has gone into the design of these. They definitely make the controllers more comfortable to hold and less likely to be dropped or thrown accidentally. The rubber is soft but grippy with a nice texture to it. They fit then shape of the controllers well and without moving about during play. I’ve noticed no difference to controller tracking while using them, which is obviously important.
I like the battery cover too, which makes it easy to change the batteries quickly without having to remove the whole cover.
Excellent all round.
good
Nice grips. They have a much nicer battery removal tab than most of the other ones I’ve bought, and have a semi transparent ring to go over the sensors instead of holes. The ring doesn’t seem to prevent the tracking from working so it seems like a good idea.
Kiwi have done it again!
These are my new favourite Quest 3 controller covers! They tick every single box:-
* Fit
* Comfort
* Design
* Battery compartment fit
* Battery removal tab
In addition to the above, they have a really nice textured grip that do no feel like they would slip out of your hands if it wasn’t for the hand strap.
The battery compartment fits perfectly and the cover itself fits perfectly into the battery compartment.
If I had one small piece of feedback it would be to make the straps removable/replaceable, but this is just being picky.
While these are more expensive than other models, the increased quality of these make the cost difference acceptable. That being the case I think these offer good value for money and I can highly recommend them!
Very good straps - highly recommended
I’ve tried quite a few straps for the Quest 2 and 3, and these are one of the better options.
First of all I wasn’t sure about the silicone material, but it’s actually very nicely textured and feels good in your hands.
The way that the straps attach to the top of the controller is also very good. Some of the cheaper straps are connected too low down and kind of prevent your thumbs from reaching all of the controls, but these straps are great and give you good access to everything on the top of the controller with a nice comfortable hand position.
I have one pair of straps that feel nicer than these (from quite a famous brand), but the area where these outcompete them is that they have a battery cover built in. This means that you don’t have to go through the whole process of removing the straps each time you need to change the batteries.
Overall these are great straps, they are comfortable in your hands and allow you to relax your hands while playing. It also makes it really easy to throw things in games without accidentally throwing the controller across the room. If you don’t have straps on your controllers you should definitely get some, and these are a great option.
Great security and protection for Quest 3 controllers.
Beloved by so many Virtual Reality content creators, this is my first time using a Kiwi product so I was keen to see if their rave reviews of the brand carry over to a regular VR user like myself.
The grips came in a very plain box, bar a small Kiwi logo so I’m not sure what the regular retail packaging might be like, but it’s the contents that count. The black cover grips feature a knuckle strap and the convenience of an opening to enable access to the battery compartment to easily replace the batteries.
The kit comes with some replacement battery covers which are easily swapped to replace the original Meta Quest 3 covers. There’s a small plastic strip to put in a certain way which will help you replace the batteries through the new ‘door’ when the need arises.
The grips are a little fiddly to put on, but that makes for a secure fit. The grips have a kind of rough surface which helps hold on to them so they won’t slide away. Although any seasoned VR user knows using the wrist straps is essential.
There’s a secure grip afforded by these covers. And, all the holes seem to be in all the right places. They compare favourably with the covers I was already using, which included a couple of thumbstick covers which are not included here.
In summary, good looking and good fitting covers. The battery replacement facility is good. The grip provided is good and well worth having.
Gold Standard
KIWI never disappoints. Top quality, top fitment, top comfort.
I have tried many different brands(this is 4th one), and this is by far the best.
Don’t even thing of buying anything else. Spend money wisely and do it once.
Kiwi <3
Sturdy and feel secure in use - pleasant texture.
Preamble: I’d bought a couple of Kiwi design accessories for my Quest 2 a little over a year ago, which have survived well given the use they had, so I was curious to see if the same design considerations had gone into the Q3 offering.
Let’s start with the only negative I have: The knuckle strap is comfortable and secure, but is attached to the body of the sleeve by a silicon tab, which the strap is riveted into – I’m not sure how well this might fare over time, and too many Beat Saber / Saints & Sinners II sessions. Time will certainly tell – it appears sturdy, but will be the point of most stress when playing.
The good stuff: The sleeves appear to be made from thicker material than my current ones, this made them slightly harder to fit, but didn’t raise the concern (in my mind) that it was thin enough to be a little fragile. Very positive point – the cutout for the wrist safety strap is large enough to pass the strap through without cussing or trying to snag the end of the loop to pull.
The design is such that the original battery cover is removed and replaced with Kiwi design’s own (black) cover, with cutout for battery removal / insertion – and a pull tab to ease removal – once the cover is fitted there is a sculpted tab that fits the battery cutout well. the battery cover comes with a pull tab already fitted, and there are a further 4 spares included in the pack to help out when the tabs have been pulled a little too enthusiastically!
In use, playing some games that are a little frenetic, the covers felt secure and comfortable, even when things got a little warm.
A ‘Thumbs up!” from me, and extra kudos to Kiwi design for minimalising their packaging, a small, plain, cardboard box and 2 plastic bags for the contents – and an easy to understand manual…
KIWI design - Quest 3 Knuckle Straps
I picked up these controller grips for my son, as he finds the supplied cord straps a bit of a faff and i also thought they may provide a little extra protection from knocks to the controller — he has managed to hit them against the door frame a couple of times during play after wandering off his floor mat.
The grips themselves feel really nice in the hand. The silicone material is quite soft, but also has a nice texture to it for added grip.
The grips are made up of 2 parts. You have a battery door with a rectangular hole in it to replace the stock ones which allow you to replace batteries without having to remove the silicone covers and of course the silicone cover itself that you simply slide the controller into. The silicone has all of the required cut outs for access to buttons and sensors and also has a door that covers the battery compartment. You then have a hook and loop strap that you secure over the knuckle area of each hand that keeps the controller nicely in position and prevents you from dropping it.
***** In The Box *****
2 x Battery Doors
2 x Silicone Covers
4 x Spare Battery Pull Tabs
1 x User Guide
***** Conclusion *****
I looked at these types of grip a few times as they looked to be quite comfortable, but didn’t pick them up as i bought my son a rechargeable dock that also charged the controllers, so these wouldn’t be compatible, but the dock decided to pack up after just over a month of use so was sent back and i thought i’d give the grips a try.
The silicone protectors are much nicer than i expected them to be and they fit the controllers really nice and snugly. I also expected the battery compartment covers to flap around, but they also snap into place really nicely. The buttons and sensors all seem to work fine which was also a concern that i had.
If you have really wide/chunky hands, then the attachment points for the knuckle strap could possibly get a little uncomfortable, although i have fairly large hands and find them ok.
My only slight negative has got to be the 29.99 asking price which just feels a little steep for what you get, but the product works well and seems to be decent quality. If they were around the 20 mark, i’d happily award the full 5 stars.
Awesome
I love kiwidesign stuff, i’ve had them since the old Oculus Quest days, the quest 2 and nowt he quest 3. The grips are great, fit nicely and dont cover any sensors, the battery compartment is lovely and the keep the controller firmly in your hands, instead of swinging around or the wristcord! Would recommend
Helping hands
A simple addition to the Quest3 controls that is a great improvement on the simple wrist strap.
No more dropping those controllers and a grip improvement when the hands get sweat during game play.
These look good and are easy to fit doing what they are designed for well.
If the price was better I would say they were an essential purchase, but for my taste they are just too pricey for what they are. If lower in price they’d get 5 stars.
Great quality, but not the most comfortable.
These grips are really well designed overall, fitting the controllers perfectly with no slack and no real risk of any of the tracking points being covered up. The materials used feel really nice, and offer a great improvement on grip compared to the stock controllers!
The easy access to the battery compartment is a fantastic addition, since you can now easily pop the batteries out without needing to remove the entire silicon cover to access them.
I definitely feel like the design of the grip could be improved though. It feels like the strap connector points are too close to the body of the controller, leading the top and bottom of the strap being much tighter and almost pinching your fingers, compared to around the middle.
If these connector points were extended out further from the controller body, the pressure from the strap would be spread out much more evenly and would be more comfortable for long-term usage.
Excellent item.
I never thought I needed these until I got them!
Simple to strap on and they ensure you don’t run the risk of accidentally throwing or dropping a controller.
Brilliant clever and useful item.
Worth every penny.
Quest 3 controllers are expensive to replace. Dropping one is not a good idea, but accidents happen and controllers do get broken. However, reducing the chance of dropping a controller is relatively cheap. Insurance comes in the form of these Kiwi controller grip covers.
These grips strap onto your hands tightly, but retain the tactility of the grip itself. You can wave your hands about as much as you want and these covers will keep the controller from slipping.
If you have a Quest 3 you need these Kiwi controller grip covers.
Strap Not Overly Comfortable
I do quite like KIWI design products. They are, in my experience, good quality. These controller covers are no different. I’ve had a few different makes now so it also doesn’t take me long to set them up.
This set comes with the usual silicon cover and includes an easily accessible battery section. You also get a bunch of spare battery straps in case of breakage. A short installation guide is also supplied should you need it.
In use the covers are fine and do not appear to block any of the sensors. I tested with Beat Saber & Les Mills Bodycombat and everything worked as intended and there was no sign that the straps were going to fall off.
The only real problem I have with these, other than the price, is that the straps dig into the side of my hand a bit and it becomes quite noticeable with extended play. I have some covers from another manufacturer that I currently prefer as the straps are slightly elasticated and they also slip into a custom metal connector (replacing the Meta supplied string strap), whereas these straps from KIWI design are a part of the cover. I don’t know if that’s the reason or just the way they are designed but that, and the price, are why these lose one star for me.
excelle
These grips were easy to attach and are very comfortable to use, the easy opening battery compartment makes changing the batteries so much easier and you don’t have to take the grips off to change the battery.
