    Smart plugs are the bes
I have used these products before and i think that they are great around the home. They are all easy to install and qork like magic. All the items i.e. plugs, extention leads etc are all made well. Works just as well with your phone as it does via Alexa, and or Google assista

    Another great product from Meross!!
Have several Meross homekit products. They are very nice easy to set takes a couple of minutes. You can control from home and even from far away outside the house etc , needs just internet and runs from everywhere you are!

These plugs are great and the smaller size of the latest models make them so much more usable. I have them all around the house connected to lights and hard to reach sockets and linked in to Alexa so that I can have routines set up to turn lights on or off at certain times like dusk to make the house looked lived in. They make so much more sense than smart bulbs which can fail in time.

I also love the energy monitoring capability. Brilliant!

Just make sure that if you need these to work with Apple HomeKit that you buy the correct ones
Excellent product and usually easy to set up – can be frustratingly awkward at times but once sorted. usually quite stable. Have a number at home and occasional they go off line for an unknown reason. These are small and as discrete as these things can be protruding from the socket. Recommended.
You do just need to make sure you buy the correct kit as most just work with Alexa and other non Apple hubs. If you need HomeKit ensure it says it is compatible – otherwise it will not be.

    Good smart extension lead…
After trying a few different brands of “Smart” devices I have come to really like the Meross brand! This is my 6th product from Meross and they work well for me and are easy to setup and easy to Control via the Meross app and this product also supports the Apple home app! These products only work on 2.4g WiFi signal which isn’t an issue for me as I have both my 2.4g and 5g on separate SSIDs this and my previous Meross devices don’t need a hub so work with just my phone and once setup can be controlled anywhere you have a Internet connection on your phone via the Meross app (not on the home app without a hub) You can set up scenes and routines with this and other Meross devices together or individually Including timers and schedules which is very convenient! I will be adding more of this brands smart devices to my ever growing “Smart” home and highly recommended them

    Excellent buy very reliable
Bought these for an Xmas present to help my mum stop having to bend over and reach into the cupboard, now all she has to do is press a button from iPad or phone, and she hasn’t needed to do as light settings was already set for her! Very easy and reliable, little bit tricky at first to figure out but wasn’t long and if I can do it so can anybody! My only issue is I didn’t buy extra ones in the bundle deal I would happily recommend and get another 4-6 for around the house

    Excellent quality...
I’m trying to determine if my old, halogen air fryer is worth keeping, so I have mine plugged into one of these sockets, and my brother has the other, and he’s monitoring his new air fryer. Excellent, easy way to determine.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersCan be integrated to Home Assistant using Merros LAN
It’s a great product, stable connection, easy to use, very compact as it fits behind my washing machine. It’s very versatile especially while integrated with Home Assistant using Merros LAN integration using HACS. I was able to create an automation that throws a notification when washing cycle starts and finishes, it can also send notification how much a washing cycle costed! Bear in mind that’s not out of the box functionality and you have to be able to use Home Assistant and script in yaml. But if you know what I’m talking about then this is one of the best plugs with an electricity calculation. It even exposes Voltage of the grid to Home Assistant. Basic app is helpful as well, reacts fast, it’s stable, and is able to show you units in if you provide your energy price per KWH in settings.

They do the job, and pretty well.
We control these plugs using Alexa through a series of Echo Dots that are, um, dotted around the house.

They connected with wifi just fine and with a lot less faffing about than other things such as smart bulbs. We made sure to connect them to the 2.4Ghz band that most smart devices currently prefer – it makes little difference in most cases because the data being sent back and forth is trivial, simple commands and responses. It doesn’t need a superfast band in order to work just fine. We use the 2.4Ghz guest network option on our main router, leaving the faster 5G band on the guest network for, well, guest devices. Using the guest networks limits the clutter on the main wifi channels of our router used for everything else online.

We made our lives more complicated by having MAC address filtering on all network devices by default, which might keep intruders away, but also makes every smart gadget need to be registered with the MAC filter. The plugs (and bulbs) then revealed that our house was in fact a bit too large for the wifi to reach the extremities, and we needed to buy a wifi extender to improve coverage. These scramble the MAC addresses meaning that we had to register every smart gadget twice! Some connect to the extender by default, others to the main router, and a few will connect to either of them, so a lot of security entries needed setting up twice. But that’s not a problem of these plugs. It might be needed should a far-flung smartplug simply not cooperate with the app or with Alexa. It’s just something to bear in mind if you run a secure network with wifi extenders.

Everyting now works like a charm. Devices reliably come on when asked, and with something like Alexa to help, they can run on timers for as long as you require. We have a gym that we can pre-heat with a fan heater in winter (it is unheated) or keep warm using an oil filled radiator on another Meross plug. We can now be anywhere in the house and ask Alexa to preheat the gym for 10 minutes (fan heaters being a nightmare on running costs), and these Meross smartplugs do the job very well. The Amazon plugs are more expensive, larger, and don’t have energy monitoring capabilities so far as I can tell from the two we also have. The Meross plugs also have a side switch that enables you to simply lean over and switch the plug off without disconnecting it from wifi.

These are great for sockets hidden away inconveniently behind furniture, you can flip that inaccessible power switch with a voice command instead. It means the Meross plugs are always on, but the energy overhead from using one is miniscule (it measures its own usage as well, as part of the overall scheme of things).

I’d wondered when we were setting up this very basic automation in the house, that we were going to become too dependent on gadgets to do things we used to do manually, but if using them becomes effortless, it’s easier to accept! We’re now quite used to switching things on remotely, basically because these plugs seem reliable and also “accountable” in that we can see what power is being drawn through the devices by whatever’s connected to them. We have a tortoise that needs its basking lamp on for a given amount of time in order to stay healthy, and we can now be in the kitchen and “switch him on” at the other side of the house for a given number of hours.

We have about 10 of these in the house, a lot of stuff is still done the old fashioned way, but these are all reliable, none have shown a single problem, and while we could live without them, I’m actually becoming fond of what they make easier for us to do.

While this might seem more of an ad for Alexa, I’m hoping that it indicates that these smart plugs are actually very good. For less outlay than for the majority of smart plugs, you get a decent array of features in a device that just quietly gets on with life. The cash we’ve saved by being able to limit on-times of things around the house more than covers the trickle of power used to keep the smart plugs listening to the network.

I would personally hate becoming dependent upon automation in my own home, and the limits of automation sometimes mean we end up having to adapt how we operate in orrder to fit in around things the automation can’t or won’t do, but if we add a little light automation to things that are inconvenient in our everyday life at home, we would want it to be dependable. These plugs are just that.

Forget the rest, these are the bes
I have been using Alexa for a good number of years and have tried 4 different manufacturers of smart plugs, forget the rest, these are the very best I have ever used and are so easy to set up.
Simple name your plugs in the Meross app and then link them to your Alexa, which was automatic in my case, then go to the Alexa app and add routines for each plug, you need to set up two routines for each plug, one being off and the other being on.
Then create a group routine and again you need to set up two such as Plug group on and plug group off.
And that is it, it worked straight away, no faffing. The previously plugs sometimes would fail to switch one of the plugs on or not at all

    Impressive... most impressive
What can I say about this little plug? First off, it’s great that it’s compatible with HomeKit, which is perfect for my Apple smart home setup. Another advantage is its compact size compared to other smart plugs on the market. I’ve avoided smart plugs in the past because they were often bulky and covered parts of the other socket. However, this smart plug by Meross is incredibly easy to set up. It features a convenient off switch on the side and an LED status indicator. The QR code is neatly found on the side for reference during setup and it’s probably as small as a smart plug can get, taking up minimal space. I’m very pleased with this product. The connection is stable, though I did need to switch my phone from 5GHz to 2.4GHz to connect it to my router during setup

    Tiny device that does everything
I needed a smart plug to switch a heater on in a shed based on outside temperature and this was one of the cheapest available at the time. What I wasn’t expecting was just how good this thing is.

Yes it’s a smart socket, links into Alexa and HomeAssistant without any issues, but it’s tiny. It’s also rated at 13 amps and it feels solid when you’re plugging things into it unlike some other brands.

It also has some clever features like monitoring energy use, both live and historic. I can see exactly how much has been used and whether my heater was on overnight or not.

It also has another really clever feature that I’ve not seen on any other adapter. It has a standby saver. Now I didn’t really understand this when I bought it, but you can set it up to monitor the power consumption and when it drops below a set level it then cuts the power completely. What this does then is monitors the supply of a device plugged into it and when that device is in standby and consuming maybe 20-30 Watts overnight, it’ll turn it off fully. You can set the level and time up so it only goes off when you want it to. This might not be for everyone and I don’t really need it, but my last TV and set top box used to use about 40 Watts when in standby and I used to switch them off at the wall, if I remembered, although I usually didn’t! This could save about 30 a year, paying for itself in just 4 months!

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersSO easy to setup & use! - Simply Brilliant!
Purchased a set of two Meross Smart Plugs a month or two ago. We have been so impressed with the quality and ease of use that we ordered another set (of four!)

They really are easy to setup! You can use them for so many things other than simple on/off switches or timers etc…So many ideas on the internet and the Meross app is full of ideas and very easy to use. Typically, it takes just a few seconds to setup a new “routine” and I am no technophile.

Once or twice recently swmbo (She Who Must Be Obeyed) forgot to turn off her iron! I thought about it and put one of the new plugs to work as a safety measure. Now the iron turns on & off via a voice command BUT! if swmbo forgets to turn off the iron, it automatically shuts down after a given time, in our case 45 minutes. So, no wasting of expensive electricity with the iron being on all day or over night and we are kept safe too!
That’s just one example of the so many things you can achieve with these smart plugs. There are hundreds more!

Delivery was quick from Amazon and literally three minutes after unpacking them I was already using them. With or without the Meross app. setting up is very easy. All you do is pair it to your internet hub using your internet password and away you go! The app is VERY good and gives you another (Manual) level of control besides the voice control.
We have been using them now since December 2023. They don’t require additional hardware and in all that time not once have they stumbled. No rebooting etc they just work & work & work. Technology at its best!

    Simplicity
I originally bought one, to replace an old plug that wasn’t working great.

The old plug, when working properly was a pain, an awkward app, wouldn’t work over 5ghz so I had to go into my router settings and shut that down, so only 2.4ghz was active, really slow to connect.

This by comparison was a breeze, plug in, add in the app and tell it my network info, from plug in to working is about 30 seconds. Alexa immediately picked it up and allowed me to set routines etc.

It was so good I bought 6 more to replace all my others.

Even easier to install as the app already had my network info, plug in, add, rename and done.

If you aren’t great with tech but want to try smart plugs, these are the way to go.

If you are good with tech and want smart plugs, these are still the way to go as you will appreciate the hassle free installation and the fact they get firmware updates.

    Much better than Tecki
I bought these as I was interested in the energy monitoring capability as I don’t have that on the Teckin plugs i bought previously.
Firstly the extra over cost to have this capability I thought would be prohibitive, but I was wrong. These plugs are excellent value for money. The functionality is incredible. Also the responsiveness by voice command and app is quick.
You must use on 2.4GHz WiFi, which wasn’t a problem as I YouTubed how to section your WiFi router – sounds hard but honestly it’s easy. I also liked the sleekness of these plugs as they are marginally smaller than the ones I had.
What is great is the app and my new knowledge of which appliances and home entertainment items that are silently burning through my electricity bills.
I have seen on the app that there is also a feature to stop passive standby mode waste. Not yet tried but am eager to see what that’s like.
I am not a paid for reviewer but because these are so good I thought it fair to review as I found. These are now my go to plugs!!!

Using this to measure my 3d printer....
….there was concern how much power my 3d printer is using (especially in this climate) as it runs most hours of the day. Gives me accurate live data and also in the format of pounds and pence which is perfect. The smart functions are not of much use to me in this context but good to know they are there anyway. Would recommend

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersVery useful (and beautiful to look at)
    Aesthetics:
This accessory is really well cared for, starting from the packaging up to the materials.
It is immediately perceived that plastic is not a cheap one. The live color is much better than in the photo, the white is pearly.

    Dimensions (W x D x H): ~ 33.56.43.0 cm:
From the point of view of the size it is a bit too long to have just 4 outputs. I would have preferred a version without USBs and 1 more socket (But this is a personal opinion). I would have also preferred an extra ~0.5 cm between the sockets.
Convenient holes on the back to hang it on the wall (Personally I have not used them)

    Application:
Nothing tragic but the proprietary application should be improved.
I would have liked that by renaming one of the sockets from the application, the change would also happen in HomeKit (or vice versa)
The proprietary application is not necessary in daily use but it is essential for the software update and for a pleasant surprise, the possibility of switch off the status LEDs, very useful if you place it in a bedroom!
In Apple’s HomeKit, you can show it as a single component or as 5 different accessories (4 sockets + 1 USB).

    Connection:
The connection is stable enough and I rarely I had to wait for the reconnection when opening HomeKit (reconnection however very fast, about 1 second).
The commands instead are taken instantly.
On the power strip, we also find a physical button (which appears to be very solid). This will be useful to turn on / off all the sockets or to put the accessory in connection mode

    Price:
The price is slightly high (41.99 ) when compared to other products without Apple HomeKit support but for now, this is the only alternative available with a UK plug and HomeKit Support.
However, it should be emphasized that the product is really well built.

    Conclusion:
The product is beautiful and functional. It works perfectly with Apple HomeKit and has solved many of my power management problems.
If you are an Apple user and use UK plugs, you currently have no choice.
I haven’t tested it with Alexa and Google Home yet. I will update the review after the tests.
