Heavy, powerful and very versatile – not just for cars
My car is covered in scratches, partly thanks to where I park by bushes (and reverse into them far too often) and I ordered this Mookis Car Polisher to help take care of it, including buffing it until it gleamed again as it gets very dusty where it is.
It is heavy, I don’t think I’m the target market at all but I love that it comes with so many options which can also be used elsewhere, including in the home for sanding floorboards. Saves hiring a machine but that’s something I’ll have to do in small spurts as it is heavy and very powerful, and I don’t really have the strength to manage it for long — for stronger men and women, though, it’s a great bit of kit.
It does need to come with more instructions, some of the pads are flimsier than I’d expect and I find it quite bulky to handle (I’m short and weak, though) but I’m pleased with it, it’s incredibly versatile, 4*
Good Polisher but a bit heavy
My Hobby is woodwork and I create coffee tables made from Olive wood and resin, I also make large chopping boards from various hard woods. I though I would try this polisher firstly for sanding then for polishing the coffee tables. The sanding disk is fine but as this is not a Random orbital sander you have to be very careful not to leave large swirls on the surface. I only use it on the early stages of sanding 80grit or similar to take away large blemishes. Once I get past 120 grit I use a random orbital sander this prevents the swirls etc. As a sander it does a good job at the heavy duty work but I wouldn’t use it on the finer detail areas as it is too harsh. Additionally there is no dust extraction. Modern sanders come with dust extraction systems that hook up to a vac or similar. this does not have the dust extraction so make sure you wear a mask to protect your lungs. I have tried it for polishing especially for the resin and it does a good job at polishing to a top sheen so that part I am happy with. Haven’t tried it on my car but I see no reason why it wouldn’t do a good job at polishing your car but be aware of the swirls it may create that could mark your paint work if you are not careful. This is a large heavy duty polisher that is a little too large and too heavy for what I need it for. Even if I was doing my car. it is just under 3kgs in weight which might not seem like much until you start polishing you car. 3kg is about half a kg heavier than the equivalent Titan or silver line polisher. The power is 1400w where as others are around the 1200w or lower. So lots of power if you need it, most people don’t This type of motor is also old tech. A brushless motor or some thing that is far more lightweight might be a good solution to the eight problem.
So in summary this is not a bad polisher it will do the job very well but it is heavy, far heavier than it needs to be with todays technology. The current price of just short of 60 is a little on the high side but you do get a quite a few attachments so not too pricey. If you need the 1400w power and you can handle the weight then this is an affordable polisher.
Powerful polishe
This car polisher is a mains powered device that significant power. It has 8 speed settings which also affect the torque power.
The polisher is quite a heavy on the arms when using for prolonged periods. There is a detachable handle that can be secured on either side, although I found I difficult to secure in position and align the volt holes.
The device comes with a number of attachments, which include various polishing heads made of foam or softer cotton heads.
The polisher is strong enough to also be used as a sander, and it Co.es with sanding heads.
The Interchangeable polishing heads are attached by either velcro, or cover over type.
Overall item is simple to use if a little heavy, but we’ll worth the money and ideal to use to remove stubborn scratches and blemishes.
DIY Car Detailing Done (Almost) Righ
I’m a big believer in taking care of my car, but paying for professional detailing services can get expensive. So, I decided to try my hand at DIY polishing with the Mookis Car Polisher. Here’s a breakdown of my experience:
The Good Stuff:
Powerhouse Performance (Kind Of): With a advertised 1400 watts, this polisher packs a punch. It tackled minor scratches and swirls with surprising ease. For a beginner like me, the power felt sufficient for most tasks.
Variable Speed Control: Having eight variable speeds allowed me to adjust the intensity depending on the job. Starting slow for initial polishing and ramping up for tougher blemishes felt safe and gave me some control over the process.
Buffing Pad Buffet: The included 13 buffing pads offered a variety for different polishing stages. While I wasn’t sure about all of them, having options was helpful, especially for someone starting out.
A Reality Check:
Missing Manual Mayhem: The biggest letdown was the lack of a decent user manual. The included instructions were minimal and not very informative. Learning how to use the polisher safely and effectively relied heavily on online tutorials and forums.
Mystery Meat Quality: The quality of the included buffing pads was a bit suspect. Some felt a little flimsy, and I wasn’t sure about their long-term durability. Investing in a separate set of high-quality pads might be a good idea.
Not Quite Beginner-Friendly: Despite the variable speeds, this polisher felt more suited for someone with a little car detailing experience. Without proper knowledge and technique, it could be easy to damage your car’s paint.
Overall, A Mixed Bag:
The Mookis Car Polisher has the potential to be a decent tool for DIY car detailing, especially for the price. However, the lack of a proper manual and the questionable quality of some components make it a bit risky for absolute beginners. If you’re willing to do your research, invest in some better buffing pads, and take your time learning proper technique, it might be a good option. However, for those who prioritize ease of use and guaranteed results, a professional detailing service might be a safer bet.
Versatile product - Sanding & polishing
Presently surprised by the overall versatility with this product. Not only can it be used for polishing but it also allows the user to sand too.
The speed can be controlled on the main units handle, which allows for either an increase or reduction when needing to be more aggressive or taking care on sensitive areas.
The pads adhere with a velcro connection and this allows for quick and easy changes. There’s a decent weight which helps reduce the amount of pressure needed and overall feels well balanced.
You get everything you need in the box to be up and running in minutes and I found the sanding worked really well. I’ve been stripping down the top coat on my furniture and wanted a tool which could also buffer once reoiled. This allowed me to do both jobs at a reasonable price and what I really like is the fact the pads are universal. You can use any from the store or bought online, they simply stick to the pads.
Very heavy to hold
This is a decent and versatile car and general polisher/sander which seems well made. It comes with lots of different attachments and does a good job, but, unfortunately it’s too heavy for me to use it for any length of time. I’m an older female so the weight’s probably not a problem for men and younger females!
It has a 1400 watt variable speed motor, and comes with spare brushes for the motor. It has lots of different polishing and buffing attachments and pads plus sanding sheets, all of which are easily attached as they are Velcro backed. It also has 2 handles to attach and instructions.
I like that it’s a multi tool that is not just for polishing but also for buffing and sanding, and not just cars but can be used on anything really, floors, wood, tiles etc.
Great Power and Versatility, But the Weight Makes It Difficult to Use for Extended Periods
While there are many positives, I have some significant concerns about its weight.
The 1400W motor delivers excellent power, making the polishing and buffing process efficient and effective and the variable speed settings allow for precise control, catering to different polishing needs and surfaces.
The 13-piece pad set is a great addition, offering versatility for various waxing and polishing tasks.
But the biggest drawback is its weight. The machine is noticeably heavy, which makes extended use tiring and somewhat cumbersome, especially when working on larger vehicles or vertical surfaces. Due to its weight, manoeuvrability is also affected. It requires significant effort to handle, which might not be ideal for everyone, particularly for those who lack upper body strength.
Overall, while the 1400W Car Polisher offers impressive power and a good range of features, the weight issue is a major downside. If you’re considering this polisher, be prepared for a workout. For those who prioritise ease of handling, you might want to look for a lighter alternative.

Thank you for reading my honest review, I hope you found it helpful! 🙂
Excellent value although quite heavy for longer use
This buffer and accessories set represent great value – it is very solid and substantial – so much so it is quite heavy for protracted use which is a bit of a downside. Although it is corded it could have done with a longer cable but I’m willing to forgive both of these negatives as it is VERY capable. I have used this a couple of times so far and the results are excellent (and its cheaper than going to the gym!). Its easy to change between the various pads and accessories and the power is very impressive.
Overall a full 5 star review from me taking all into account.
Heavy does the job
This is quite heavy I got this for my car and I need to sand a summer table.
It does both jobs but I find it quite heavy to work with also I need an extension cable as the wire is good size but not enough to run from the house to my drive or garden.
Lots of extra bits hope I can get replacements if they wear out.
Powerful and versatile bundle
This thing is a serious bit of kit, and the bundle is very generous.
Pros
Heavy duty
Stepless speed control
Weight
Easy pad swap
Lots of extras
Spare motor brushes
Left or Right handed
Sanding pads
Cons
Heavy (but I appreciate that)
Cord length is a bit short
When I opened up the box I was surprised how big this polisher was, it’s a big bit of kit and quite heavy, I was also surprised at all the included accessories which make it so versatile.
Swapping the pads is very easy, the main pad has a Velcro surface and you simply pop the sponge pads on for general polishing, it also accepts standard round Velcro sanding pads, the included sanding discs are quite coarse (160 grit) which is fine for rough sanding but you can purchase much finer ones if you need them.
The polisher comes with two different handles which screw on, you can orientate them for either Left Hand or Right Hand operation, the main grip handle is the best option for polishing and buffing, the other simple handle is better for heavy sanding, I appreciated the option.
The main polisher is impressive, the weight seemed too heavy at first but it turned out to be a benefit as it requires less pressure to polish and buff which helps with fatigue on longer jobs, the motor is powerful and has a good range of revs and it doesn’t stall in the slightest, my only complaint is the cable length was a bit too short which was a pain when trying to polish the car roof or bonnet.
The range of pads and polishing heads is perfect, especially for a deep polish on old paint as you can step from higher revs coarse cutting polish right through to low revs fine polishing/buffing, I also liked that there were spares of each.
My main tip would be; do the polishing in manageable sections, I got carried away and tried to do the whole car in one session and lost the will to live after half way through, but that was from cutting polish to full buffing which was a big job.
Overall Conclusion
I am seriously impressed with this bit of kit, the performance was flawless, I found the weight to be an advantage and all the accessories made it very versatile, for the price I think it is a bargain, especially for all the elbow grease and time it saved.
Bold and powerful
I didn’t expect this to be this heavy ( almost 4kilos) but it is a beast when it comes to work. The adjustable speed makes this product multi-purpose. I tested this to clean the wooden floor and it did the magic. Although I couldn’t use it for a prolonged time because of the weight. (for the plus side, I could be saving money on gym membership)
It comes with several pads and handles, so it is easier to use on cars than floor.
It is loud in high speed, so I suggest wearing ear protection if used at high speed for a long time.
The only thing is that I wished it came with a longer cable.
Overall, Robust, multipurpose beast, essential for car lovers and DIYers. Happy to recommend it.
A hefty bit of ki
This polisher comes in a cardboard box and has a huge array of polishing accessories, but then it’s supposed to be able to handle a huge amount of jobs, and I think it will!
The unit itself is quite heavy, but it’s a 1400W motor with 8 speeds, which makes it very versatile, so I forgive the weight, and only use it for shorter sessions. I usually like cordless tools more than corded, as long as the battery life is good. This has only 2m of cord, which is the only thing I didn’t like (longer would have been far more useful).
The pads are very easy to attach and you have buffers, polishers, sanding discs. They’ve also included two spare brushes which is brilliant for when you need to replace one. It works really well too, I was so impressed with how everything came up – so much easier than hand polishing. It wasn’t too bad on vibration either, and it was quieter than I’d imagined.
Overall I’m very impressed and you do get a lot of kit for the price. Very happy to recommend.
So many uses
This is not just a car polisher, but with the different pads can be a sander or a floor polisher as well.
The pads are easy to remove and swap over.
It is slightly on the heavy side, but the weight shows the quality of the product.
I love that you can move and reposition the extra handle to make it more comfortable.
Good quality. Mookis car polisher 1400w car polisher.
This has a 2 pin plug, round pins, not the normal UK 3 pin plug, SO on the advise of an electrician friend we have changed the plug to a UK 3 pin plug with a 13 amp fuse in the plug, this has worked perfectly. Shame about the lead being so short at only 2 m. This is quite weighty but I managed to use it ok and I’m quite petite, my hubby is impressed with it after trying it out on a number of surfaces, it smoothed a rough strip of wood very easily and brought a lovely shine to the car, although this is a rotary polisher NOT dual action (D A ) so you cannot hold it in one spot too long, you have to keep it moving when polishing. What we did notice is that it’s quieter than most we’ve tried before, it’s a solid unit and we didn’t feel any vibration even on the highest speed. It’s easy to operate and the choice of 2 handles are very handy and really help give good support when using, the unit is 17″ long, there are a lot of quite decent quality accessories, so far I can’t fault this and my husband who is used to using a wide range of tools is very happy with it, this also comes with a spare set of the carbon brushes.
Lots of extras
Was looking at this as we have recently purchased a “new to us” black vehicle which needs to be kept polished to appreciate the colour !
The other option would be a cordless one but I think corded ones although “tied” to a power point are much more powerful and no issues of batteries running out and generally better .
This unit is quite hefty and does have a bit of weight to it , which is a good and bad thing in my eyes ! Especially if your holding it for some time !
The polisher is definitely substantial and has a 1400 watt motor , it has a controllable eight variable speeds as well !
It comes with a lot of accessories , as can be seen in the photos, sander , polisher , buffer , applicator in fact every type of scenario you would need
Its a good kit and is very versatile and will come in handy in a lot of situations , remember it is a rotary machine and not an orbital one so don’t leave it on the same area polishing for too long as you will burn the paint , move it around whilst your polishing !
Great tool and will be very useful , and used by me a lo
A bargain!
I have a two handled round dumpy type of polisher at the moment. I’ve never used it to polish any car let alone my car, but it does get a lot of use polishing wooden floors. I always have problems polishing kitchen floors, the bit of floor that runs up to the kickboard that’s overhung by the kitchen units. My polisher won’t reach those bits-this Mookis model will! Apart from being versatile this polished is well made and powerful-with enough accessories to keep it supplied for quite a while.
A lot of polishers with this level of power and this well made are considerably more expensive. For 59.99 this Mookis polisher is a snip.
Only 2 metre cable
I found the handle very difficult to attach to the polisher body. The instructions are not very good and don’t show anything about the stick handle. (Apparently you can use just the stick handle on its own, but you don’t put the larger one described on at all, it took me ages to work this out and to stop searching for a screw hole dhuu!!) The unit is quite heavy as well and made my arms rather sore but I think a younger person would manage better. (I’m in my 70s so muscles not what they were). The pads are very easy to attach and the three flat and wavy sponges should last quite a while. There are two fluffy lads for buffing. The sandpaper discs have also come in very handy for smoothing my husband’s wooden shed before painting, therefore we’ve found it a very useful item. There are also two spare brushes included which would be beneficial to anyone using the machine a lot. The only problem is that the cable is only two metres so I needed a long extension cable to use it on the car but it polished up really nice.
