Perfect and quiet!
Fully modular PSU, so only the required cables needed installed, making cable management in this Ionz KZ-X1 MATX case visible, but easy (a bit of folding and tucking, plus a couple of tiny zip-ties). Plus, we get a free canvas baggy to keep the spare cables tidy. Nice!
Looks good easy to install and cheap
The cables are easy to install but they are also kinda stiff but its not that bad I added cable extension to it anyway to it didn’t matter that much.
Very impressed
This was my first PC build in 15 years and things have moved on a bit. I love the modular design, keeps everything neat and tidy. It’s also stunningly quiet, especially with the 0RPM fan mode enabled. Well featured enough to last for years to come. I couldn’t find any reviews of this exact model outside of Amazon but I’m glad I took a chance on it.
Worth it for those who need the powe
This PSU is very easy to install due to its modular cables which means less clutter overall as not all cables are needed. The end result is a very quiet PSU that also comes with a 10 year warranty for added peace of mind. Highly recommended for those who need the power but is most likely overkill for most.
Insanely good value for money
I already own the 1300W version so naturally, I had to get this not only is it everything I need but it’s future-proofed for Rtx 5000 + series.
What’s even more amazing is that its fans do not turn on until 40% usage which for me never happens.
Completely customisable cables so no room taken up in the PC back board.
I can’t complain it’s design is very eye appealing too considering many other brands.
Can't fault it so fa
Only had the PSU installed a couple days but had no issues at all. No problems in fitting into the case and once turned on there was no excessive notice or coil whine.
The graphics card installed in my PC only required an 8 pin connector but I’m glad the PSU has a dedicated 12VHPWR slot if required for future upgrades. A solid optio
Didn't explode :)
I mean, it did its job. Great for its value, I highly recommend it. Should probably get the 650w version instead of the 550w though. The price difference is only 5 when I’m writing this review.
great item for a price
– great power supply for a price
– fully modular, so you can just put cables not needed back into the box to make your build cleaner
– comes with pcle graphic card cable, no need to use adapters
was a bit confused with connecting ATX cable, but it could be me building a modern pc for the first time
note you need to press a bit harder for some cables till hear light click to be sure that it is fully connected(it could be common for all PSU but decided to note just in case)
more efficie
My pc came with a bargain bin psu that was very noisy and with no pci power cable. This upgrade not only runs much quieter but my electricity use has gone down and it has two, daisy chained, plugs for a gpu.
Easy and modular Power supply
Fit my case easily and the fact that it was modular means there is not excess cables lying round taking up space in the case. Very easy to install because the screw threads were made with high quality.
A solid PSU for white builds
So far this has been a solid PSU, no issues. It fit in my case without problems, it is not overly big or chunky in any sense, and it came with every cable I could need, including a 12VHPWR connector for my new 4080 Super, all cables were white so it matches perfectly. The only thing I may say that may be improved would be the fan noise, it is slightly more notable although definitely not annoying, so it’s all good!
Has been quite reliable, no issues
From the date i purchased this, i have had no issues with power-related things for a while now. It comes with the standard cables, and a few molex cables for extra attachments. So far, the performance has been great, but you can definitely feel the hot air at the back of it. Installing it is like any other power supply, an absolute pain really. Overall, not bad if you just want something to power your rig.
Bought for MSI PC build and included cables
I wanted a 1000W power supply with included cables that would easily fit in my PC case to power an i9 1400k processor and a 4080 Super graphics card and this did the job.
Had enough cables that are clearly marked the connections on the PSU unit itself and a good length where to connect them on your motherboard.
Excellent quality power supply
I bought this to upgrade my old Corsair 650w power supply in preparation of upgrading my GPU. It was nice and easy to fit and had no issues. It is also slightly quieter than my old PSU which is nice. Cables are OK, though it would have been nice if there were more premium feeling. I have not yet used the 600w GPU cable as my current GPU doesn’t support it, hopefully I can use it in the future.
You get plenty of cables and also a nice bag to store them all in, my previous PSU wasn’t fully modular so being able to only install the cables I need is nice. Overall it feels well made and hopefully will give me many trouble free years of service.
A great "Future Proof" PSU
I bought this power supply as I wanted something that will last for a few years. With the increase in power requirements for both processors and graphics cards I opted for a PSU with both ATX 3.0 and the new PCIe 16 pin power connector, so that I’m covered for connectivity.
The power supply from the single 12v rail is smooth, and the addition of a “zero fan” mode when the system isn’t drawing a lot of power makes this already quiet PSU completely silent. There are a good variety of cables, including 2 8-pin EPS cables, 2 6+2 pin GPU cables, 8 SATA connectors over 3 cables, a 16 pin connector and a 16 pin to 2 8-pin GPU cable. I’m using this cable to run a 7900 GRE so it can draw maximum power without having to worry about throttling, and the single cable means less clutter in my case.
Very happy with the build quality and performance and would have no hesitation in recommending. It’s a Tier Product on the Cultist Network PSU Tier list.
A future proofed PSU
After extensive research for a reliable power supply unit for my upgraded PC build, I settled on the MSI MPG 850G PCIe 5 Power Supply. Here’s my honest take on its performance and features. As of writing I have been using this PSU for the last week or so.
The MPG 850G boasts compatibility with PCIe 5, which provides some degree of future-proofing for system upgrades. Its 80 Plus Gold certification ensures decent efficiency, helping to manage power consumption effectively.
In terms of build quality, the MPG 850G is solidly constructed with premium components. It is a shame that the smart design is hidden away under a PSU shroud. The fully modular design simplifies cable management, contributing to a cleaner interior and potentially better airflow. I liked the flatness of the cables as this aided in routing them throughout my case (Fractal Design Pop air)
One notable aspect is its relatively quiet operation. The large ~140mm fan does its job efficiently, keeping noise levels at a reasonable level even under demanding tasks. This is definitely appreciated, especially for those who prioritize a quieter computing experience. And if 0RPM mode is switched on, the Fan doesn’t even operate under 40% load, meaning no additional noise is created. This is great as I use the PC in a communal living space.
Worth mentioning is the excellent 10yr warranty, which gives me piece of mind that my purchase should have a long life, possibly beyond my current PC build.
Overall, the MSI MPG 850G PCIe 5 Power Supply delivers decent performance and features. While it has its strengths such as compatibility with PCIe 5 and efficient operation, there are some areas for improvement like cable length. If you’re in the market for a mid-range power supply with solid performance, the MPG 850G is worth considering.
Great Performance and Excellent Value PSU
Ordered the MSI A1000G PCIE5 for my new PC build a few months ago, powering an AMD Ryzen 7800X3D and AMD RX 6900XT. It is a bit overkill for my system right now, but leaves plenty of room for future upgrades especially with PCIE5 compatibility and ATX3.0 standards.
The PSU is well built, feels robust and is quite small compared to similar alternatives, allowing you to easily install and access cables when built. It is fully modular and there are plenty of connections and cables, all fully black, with native PCIE5 cables included for neatness.
During use its provided reliable performance and is very quiet during all workloads. It has a button on the rear to adjust the zero RPM mode when below 40% power. The size in particular made it very easy to install compared to previous PSUs I’ve used.
Overall, I’m very happy with my purchase, the PSU was priced very competitively when bought and often has additional offers. It also has a 10 year warranty for peace of mind.
Tired of PSU nightmares? Say hello to the MSI MAG A550BN — the budget-friendly hero that brought stability and silence to my PC. Here’s why I’m loving it:
Rock-Solid Power: 550W of 80 Plus Bronze certified goodness keeps my rig humming smoothly, even during intense gaming sessions. No more power spikes or jitters, just reliable performance.
Whisper-Quiet: The 120mm fan stays surprisingly quiet, even under load. No more annoying PSU whirring to drown out your game audio. It’s like adding a noise-cancelling feature to your PC!
Built to Last: DC-to-DC circuits, single-rail design, and a comprehensive suite of protections give me peace of mind knowing my precious components are safe and sound. Plus, the 5-year warranty shows MSI stands behind their product.
Easy Install, Even for Noobs: Non-modular cables might not be for everyone, but the straightforward layout and included accessories make installation a breeze. Even a first-time builder like me managed it without breaking a sweat.
The Verdict: This PSU punches way above its weight. If you’re building a budget-conscious PC without sacrificing performance or peace of mind, the MSI MAG A550BN is a no-brainer. It’s quiet, reliable, and won’t break the bank.
5 out of 5 stars!

With a robust 1000W output, this PSU effortlessly supports high-end components and overclocking, ensuring stable and consistent power delivery.
Efficiency is a highlight, thanks to its 80 PLUS Gold certification, minimising energy consumption and heat generation. Installation was a breeze with its modular design and included cables, enabling tidy cable management.
Noteworthy are its comprehensive protective features, guarding against overvoltage, overcurrent, and short circuits, ensuring the safety of valuable components.
Overall, the MSI MPG A1000G PCIE5 PSU impresses with its reliability, efficiency, and protective capabilities, making it an excellent choice for demanding PC setups.
I highly recommend this PSU for those seeking a reliable, high-performance power supply unit.
Is PLUS Gold rating, modular, compact size so can fit in many different size cases, quiet with 0% RPM MODE, plenty of cables included that should fit most people’s needs, nice packaging, long warranty, native 12VHPWR connector so no need for ugly adapter if using latest and greatest Nvidia RTX GPU. I’m packing in my new build an RTX 4090 and i9 13900KF and running benchmarks and gaming there have been no power delivery issues.
Only negative is that the included power cable is too short. About 1/3rd less length than what is standard.
This was the best value ATX 3.0 PSU I could find for my new RTX 4080 build, without cutting corners on quality. Very pleased with it so far – fit perfectly into my case. Cables are good quality as far as bundled ones go, and I love the cable storage bag that’s included. The 12 VHPWR cable is braided and quite thick, and a little hard to bend/shape – I appreciate the quality, but because you have to be careful not to stress the GPU connector the cable touches the side panel when installed; the 4080 GPU is huge! This doesn’t affect anything beyond aesthetics, but because MSI is a big company it’s easy to find alternative modded cables if you want (be careful to check the pinouts if you do).
It’s very quiet in operation, and I’ve overclocked both my CPU and GPU with no power delivery issues. No complaints at this price point, and it comes from a reputable brand. I toyed with the idea of going with the Corsair RMx series, but for the same price, that one isn’t an ATX 3.0 PSU so I’d have had to use the triple PCIe to 12VHPWR adapter and messed up my minimalist cable management.
So glad I went with MSI on this one, the lengthy warranty and quality build make this easy to recommend, and it paired well with the MSI Z690 MOBO I chose, too. Will definitely be going MSI on my next build!
