Pokmon Violet is a fantastic game that’s let down by performance issues.
However that didn’t detract much in my experience, the story was fantastic and the build up and reveal to area zero was amazing, I haven’t felt the way I did in area zero since I was a child and exploring Cerulean cave in the original titles or Mount Silver in the 2nd generation. The area felt dangerous, fascinating and the music was next level.
Storytelling was on point, the character stories are compelling and it feels like you’re playing an anime.
Unfortunately the game does lag and the framerate doesn’t even hit a stable 30fps, also the tera raids were problematic with abilities not registering among other issues.
Overall a solid title, gamefreak would do well to polish their games to the level that Nintendo puts into their Zelda titles but that’s a pipedream for all longtime pokemon fans.
