Easy to set up
very easy to set up and use, have mine on the none essential TV bits that don’t need 24/7 power – i.e. soundbar, TV, and on PC set up.
Tapo app is easy to use and customisable.
Awesome!
Price paid 30 July 2024.
Awesome little plugs from a networking standpoint, have all my routers and switches attached to these and then put them all in a VLAN, really helps with problem solving!
Good brand with good features
I’ve now got 22 of these plugs spread around the house to control lights, my PC and car chargers in the garage. The latter allows me to see if the chargers are still charging without the need to go have a look. They’re small – multiple plugs will sit side by side in a dual wall outlet. They integrate well with Home Assistant. Recommended.
Easy setup through Tapo App
Easy to setup after downloading the Tapo app. I do have the Kasa app but it doesn’t work to control these plugs, however, I found the Tapo app compatible to control my Kasa devices as well with everything visible in one app.
Small and compact plug size. Very pleased.
Excellent and easy to use
I purchased the mini Tapo plugs with usage. Easy to set up, really easy, easy to use and then simple enough to connect to Amazon (Alexa) device. Loving them so far plus setting up of times in/off etc.
EASY TO USE
EASY TO SET UP AND USE WITH ALEXA OR MOBIL APP. EASY TO ADJUST TIMINGS AS USE ON LIGHTS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR AND CAN OVER RIDE WHEN WE NEED TO DEPENDING ON WEATHER AND TIME OF YEAR. TEND TO USE MOBILE APP MORE
Nice stuff!
I had the older version and loved it, so I decided to try this new Tapo plug, and I’m just as happy with it! It’s compact, easy to set up, and the app is straightforward and user-friendly. I use it to control my lights, and the app allows me to turn it on or off individually or in groups. Plus, with third-party apps, you can customize even more settings. Overall, I love it and would definitely recommend it if you’re in need of a smart plug!
Turn off the standby
I bought these are my with wants a divorce and is always moaning about the electric I use in my room!!! so. I have these on everything in my room so
A, I can monitor the amount in ‘s of electricity I use!
B, So I can turn off the items that are in standby!
They are excellent! I can even turn them on and off from down the pub!
Very easy to install
Grea
Love tapo products. Have dozens of smart plugs. Bought these for my snakes tank.
I can control the UVB and Heat bulbs and it also tells me how much each this has cost me. Do not have a single fault.
Simplicity
Bought these to replace aging remote controlled plugs throughout the house with the added benefit of seeing power usage. They need to connect to a 2.4GHz wi-fi signal which may mean in some cases having to split the network into 2 domains as they may not connect to the combined signal in some cases.
Another nice feature is that you can set the sockets to switch at dusk/dawn or any number or minutes before or after. So no need to adjust timers for summer/winter, just let the sockets switch on the lights when it gets dark and switch off after a set time or any time you decide. You can override the sockets with the app or by pressing the button on the side of the socket, couldn’t be any easier.
I’ve been on the hunt for smart plugs that are both reliable and affordable, and these have exceeded my expectations in every way
Great, a little fiddly at firs
I bought two of these and at first, I could not get them to connect to my wifi but it turns out that this was because I was trying to sync them too close to plugging these in. My advice would be to plug them in and wait 5 minutes before you set them up for the first time.
Once up and running they are great though, the on/off timer is a lovely feature and you can even export your usage from the devices plugged into these into excel which is emailed to you at the touch of a button.
Tapo Smart Plug: Control and Monitor Your Energy Usage
The Tapo smart plug with energy monitoring has been a fantastic addition to my smart home. It not only gives me the peace of mind to remotely turn off devices I might have accidentally left on, but also provides valuable insights into their power consumption. Setup was straightforward, though I did need to manually connect to the plug through my phone’s WiFi settings. For tech enthusiasts using HomeAssistant, this plug integrates seamlessly via HACS, just remember to assign a static IP address.
Very good
Easy to set up and add to my Alexa for voice control
App is fairly good and easy to use
The power monitoring is ok too. Shows KWh usage not usage
Does the job as advertised
I recently purchased the Tapo Smart Plug, and I can say that it works as advertised. Setting it up was relatively straightforward, and I was able to control my devices remotely using the Tapo app without any major issues. The scheduling feature also worked well, allowing me to automate the operation of my appliances.
However, I didn’t find anything particularly exceptional about this smart plug. While it does its job, I didn’t notice any standout features or performance that would make it stand out from other similar products on the market. The design is functional but not particularly sleek or stylish.
Overall, if you’re looking for a basic smart plug that gets the job done without any frills, the Tapo Smart Plug might be worth considering. But if you’re looking for additional features or a more premium experience, you may want to explore other options.
Decent budget smart plug
I think we’re up to about 8 of these scattered around the house now. Easy to set up, reliable, enough “smart” features for our needs (schedule, timer, electricity cost metrics, works with Alexa) and a decent enough app. Not sure why we would need to buy anything fancier.
I have many of the earlier Tap P100 smart plugs at home and work which I use for controlling various devices including lamps, indoor and outdoor Christmas lights, air conditioning, fan heater, it equipment. I like the Tapo plugs ascthey are simple, reliable, quick and easy to set up using just a phone with the Tapo app. Best of all they require no hub and connect easily to Amazon Alexa using the Tapo skill giving voice control.
They make it easy to turn lights on/off at night without getting up, turning heater on before arriving home, rebooting IT equipment at the office remotely if there’s an issue, even controlling from Alexa Auto while in the car. Grouping these in Alexa I can ensure all important devices are turned off when leaving work.simply by saying close the office’. I even installed one at a relatives house while they were on holiday so we could turn lights on and off to make it appear someone was at home – simply programmed at home, plugged it in to heir house and connected to their WiFi – all done and controllable remotely.
I like the form factor as I can several side-by-side on a multi-way mains strip, and I like that there is a timer feature too via the Tapo app so you can schedule on/off times, either using basic set times or times based on offsets from sunrise/sunset so they adjust through the year, or even randomised times for security applications.
This latest P110 update includes is much the same but now includes a power monitoring function, handy for checking consumption of power-hungry devices such as heaters to help you save money. It’s also a handy way to confirm a remote device is actually working at a remote location even though you’ve turned it on – if it’s not working then consumption will be.close to zero.
All in all I can’t speak highly enough about these simple Tapo plugs – a respected brand, simple, reliable and easy to use. The Tapo range has also been expanded recently to include many other smart home functions, though some require the Tapo hub. As with any product, my only wish would be to make them cheaper, though the price is not bad and very competitive for such devices.

Having tried four or more different smart plugs the tapo version is by far the easiest to install and most reliable. The tapo app remembers the passwords etc for devices (including cameras) and when others are added pre-populates the various fields. In use the plug is good providing detailed information about the connected devices energy use and allowing you to set up schedules to operate. Works with Alexa and is automatically enrolled in the Alexa infrastructure. Plug can be manually switched on and off with the button on the side or through the tapo app or alexa app or with voice control. Naming can be adjusted after installation if you have not predetermined that. All in all very pleased with these and now have several in operation including with a wifi range extender.
I bought these to add to the existing tapo p110 I have. For around 10 each I can monitor my energy consumption, I can add my Electricity cost, so it can give me an estimate of how much I have to pay, lets me setup automation, so I can tell it to turn on or off depending on the day and how long it should stay on for. I can monitor all this from anywhere as long as the p110 is connected to the wifi. It’s compact as well and has LED’s to let you know if the p110 is functioning as it should. 6/5 For 10 it’s a bargain for how much it could save me over time. One of the best items I have bought in general.
Also for anyone using Home Assistant, it works perfectly and all the data from the p110 is available to implement.
