Super soft and sticky!
While being out on shoots, I have had times where I have just had to throw lenses into the bag without being able to properly organise as the shot that I could of potentially missed was not worth it. This protective wrap would at least allow me to give it some protection before going in the bag.
The material itself is some sort of cross between a car cleaning towel and velcro. The texture isn’t exactly soft but it also isn’t rough. The material feels slightly velvetty and would not scratch a camera. The material has this ability to bond itself to itself, which is why it is like velcro. You are able to stick it together and hold a lens in like a bag, or wrap the lens up and give it protection where it won’t escape, quite clever stuff!
The materials printing is excellent. I got the one with the camera on and the printing is sharp, colourful and quite artistic in this hand drawn style. The only downside is the Tarion logo all over it, however its their product and it makes sense.
I have taken this out on a couple of shoots where I have needed to wrap a lens up to protect it. These have done perfectly, the lenses bumping one another is no longer a thing and they are wrapped securely in place. The only downside I found was that this material will pick up lint/ random bits of debris. Its quite easy to wipe it off but its something to note if you are going for a shoot in the woods.
Overall, I am very happy with this! At just 11.99 (+ a -2 voucher), this is excellent value. This is something that would work as a great gift to a budding photographer or as a gift to yourself to protect your very valueable lenses! Highly recommended! 5/5!
Amazing
I wish I knew about this sooner. I usually just use a thick microfiber towel to protect the camera inside my purse if I don’t want to use it’s bulky case. Been using it regularly now. Very easy to use. It sticks and closes easily. It’s like magic! Not only it protecta from elements and scratches while hanging over your shoulder or neck but it can also be used to wipe the cam clean. Perfect size for my Sony ZVE10. Highly recommend.
Surprisingly fantastic
Recently used this to take my camera on a short city trip. Couldnt be happier with it. It stuck to itself incredibly well and protected the camera when it was in my bag. Did not unravel at all.
The cloth feels a little rough so I don’t know if I would use it to clean a lens, but that’s not what I wanted it for.
If I could change anything, it would be to make it just a touch larger. It did wrap around my Mamiya 645, but only just. It’s fine for 35mm cameras, but medium format or SLRs with karger lenses might be a touch harder.
Excelle
A versatile wrap, great for lens protection while camera gear is in my camera bag. It actually can be used both sides out, it grips itself just as well either way. The grey side is a little rougher than the patterned side. Good as a lens cleaner too, and of course isn’t just for cameras, could be used on anything needing a protective wrap really. It grips itself very well, and can take a bit of weight should it need to. Can be machine washed. Great addition to the camera kit, and current price of 12 seems fair enough. Recommended.
Good for big lenses
This is a very clever lens wrap. I really like how the inner is soft, similar to a microfibre cloth. You can use to to clean you lens or camera without worrying about causing scratches. What is amazing is this sticks to the outer of the cloth like just velcro.
Wrapping the lens up holds everything in place very securely. I would say this is better suited to larger lenses. I have smaller ones. My largest a 75-400mm was lost in this wrap and personally think was better suited to a standard lens case. However if you have larger lenses then this wrap will work much better.
Overall I’m very impressed with this wrap, I’m just saddened it was too big for my lenses.
self-adhesive camera wrap
This is my first Tarion product, I’ve seen this product before but have never purchased it. The wrap is a good size to cover a small camera and lens. The polyester material is self-adhesive and you can mould the wrap to any shape.
It secures the camera and lens nicely and doesn’t give full protection of padded pouches but it is nice for those who just want to take the camera out and chuck it in a bag. There are a few patterned prints and plain ones for sale at 11.99.
The wrap also doubles up as a cleaning cloth. To wipe down dust on the camera and lens. I like this cloth, as there are times when I want to wear a fashionable bag but don’t have space for a padded sleeve.
Very Simple & Very Effective
Being already familiar with the brand TARION from their various photography gear, I was keen to try this protective wrap.
This simple yet effective multipurpose wrap made of Microfibre cloth can be used to protect any equipment that may be vulnerable to bumps and scratches e.g. lenses, light meter, controller etc.
Since the cloth uses frictional adhesion (i.e. No zipper), with sufficient overlap after wrapping, your gear will be protected during transport.
The cloth is ultra soft so can also be used for quickly wiping/cleaning as well as additional padding layer.
It must be noted that this protective wrap is NOT an alternative to a hard case/camera bag.
Clever, soft and protective
I am very impressed by this protective camera wrap for cameras. It’s very light, dust resistant, and helps to protect expensive camera equipment from damage during transport.
I am not sure how the “nano ultrafine magic adhesive” works, but it does what it claims: it wraps around and adheres to itself (the grey inner layer sticks to the patterned layer) ensuring that the wrap poes not come off during transport.
It is not quite big enough for my Canon 6D and walkaround 24-105 lens, but it is perfect for the 6D and 50mm lens; smaller cameras would obviously work well, as would individual lenses and bodies. Other sizes are available too.
It’s a keeper!
I like this, great for spare lenses
I received this item via the vine programme. Here ia my honest and unbiased review.
This cloth bag for storing and protecting spare lenses is pretty nice.
It certainly does the job and works well to protect my DSLR lens.
It is a nice microfibre material, and i like the feel.
This strikes me as a good idea, and i am surprised I haven’t come across these before.
Just to say this is not a ‘stand alone’ protective cover, you still need to store your camera parts in a proper protective bag or case, by this is definitely a welcome addition to my own DSLR set up.
4 Stars!
These wrap protectors are amazing.
I have a few of these ones now and they are absolutely amazing. This is a smaller one and protects my 50mm lens perfectly and without any issues whatsoever.
It’s a bit of a magic cloth the way it stays together without any velcro or tape and I love how spongy they are.
Does the job nicely
This wrap arrives inside a retail style plastic box. While the box is easy to recycle, it could be worth keeping it to store the wrap in.
As for the wrap itself it’s well made with no loose threads or poor stitching. It feels nice and soft to handle and provides good protection from scratches. What’s especially nice is that self-adheres to itself, which makes it easy to use. I also like how it takes up minimal space in my camera bag.
Plus it’s machine washable, which is handy as it can also be used for cleaning camera kit, something it’s rather good at. Obviously it’s just fabric, not foam or a hard case so it won’t protect against drops or hard knock. Nor given the size is it suitable for large lenses.
Though where this really works is for padding out a camera bag if you don’t have a dedicated exact size case for your camera or a lens. With it’s nice pattern it also looks nicer than wrapping your kit in microfibre cloths.
Overall? It’s a good option for photographers who want a lightweight convenient way to protect camera gear from minor bumps and scratches. But, it’s not a replacement for a padded camera bag if you need some serious protection.
Works for me
It’s in use, wrapped around a lens in my busy camera bag. Works as described. I like it! It’s a nice soft cloth that is useful to have anyway, let alone that it strangely sticks to itself. Interesting thing. Pleased to have it. I note that it’s apparently washable at 30 degrees, that I will do by hand when the need arises.
Great idea
This soft fabric sticks to itself so you can wrap it around a piece of equipment and it stays put with no fastenings. It is a great idea and could be used for anything that needs a little protection, not just camera equipment. It is not padded, but is a thick towelling type fabric. The small size will fit a camera lens, the large size will fit a SLR camera with a standard lens on.
An alternative to a lens case
I was looking to buy another couple of lens cases when I saw this Tarion wrap so thought I’d give it a go instead.
The wrap is a soft felt-type cloth on one side with a ‘rougher’ (for want of a better word as it’s not rough at all, just a bit courser) on the reverse. When you wrap the courser side sticks to the felty side and, hey pre4sto, it does not unwrap itself! It’s not hard to unwrap either, given how well it sticks to itself. It can take the weight of a fairly hefty lens without unwrapping but I wouldn’t trust the weight of my camera with the lens attached, perhaps a smaller camera. Anyway, it’s not what I wanted he wrap for in the first place, it was to protect the lens from knocking on other things in my camera bag and for this it works a treat and creates little bulk when space is at a premium.
I’d say that this wrap is in the higher price bracket when compared to lens cases that are out there. I wouldn’t say it would protect whatever is inside from any serious knocks, a more rigid lens case would be more likely to do that, but for space saving and wrapping awkwardly shaped items you can’t go wrong.
Ideal to wrap your camera and lens up for protection in a regular backpack or bag
This TARION protective wrap offers protection for cameras and lens even when you have to put them in a bag that was not designed for camera gear. What makes the Tarion wrap magic is that the inner grey surface seems to “stick” to the outer material with the doodle design on. Neither material is sticky to the touch, but when wrapped the wrap stays in place. This offers a layer of protection for your camera or lens.
Measuring 37cm square I could wrap up a small mirrorless camera with lens. I found it best to place the camera along the diagonal of the wrap as that gave more material to “stick” when the camera was wrapped.
This doodle wrap has camera, video, lens and flash illustrations on it that makes sure you know what is wrapped inside. A great bit of kit, certainly something for the photographer who sometimes can’t take their regular photo bag on a trip.
Some kind of sorcery
Was a little nervous at first but happily shocked and surprised that it works so well, the cloth some how seems to just stick to itself completely, and doesn’t move at all.
I wrapped a camera in it, and I was able to pick it up without it coming apart at all.
The microfibre cloth also is great for cleaning the camera lens, ideal for wrapping the camera and then stuffing it in a bag.
Great Value
Absolutely Marvellous
One of the best products I have reviewed on the Amazon Vine platform.
At first I was dubious about the wraps usefulness but when used it becomes a great way to store and transport anything that is sensitive to damage such as cameras, lenses, tablets, watches, electronics in general. I received the 37cm size and this easily wraps a typical micro four thirds camera but would recommend you get the larger size if you need more adaptability.
I usually put my camera in a well padded backpack or messenger bag but don’t like to leave it out of a case so have the extra bulk of storage within storage. With the wrap I can simply wrap the camera (or lens) and place it in the bag knowing it will be protected from bumps and scratches. It wont stop it being crushed but that is what the primary bag is for.
The material is strong and adheres to itself easily to form secure containment. A brilliant solution and I shall be getting a couple more to form a more complete storage solution.
100% Recommended
Perfect for a camera sling
I am yet to order a Tarion product that disappoints and this is no exception.
My camera sling comes out with me far more often than my backpack and due to the restricted space I’m unable to carry a spare lens in a case so have to just hope I pack it well enough that other objects in my bag don’t cause any damage.
Not anymore and I’m unsure why it has taken me so long to try one of these, it is super soft and once wrapped stays wrapped due to the magic woven into the material.
If like me you prefer to travel light, I strongly suggest you pick up one or two of these, you won’t regret it.
Sticky wrap.
This arrives in a clear plastic box with a full colour printed insert. The box measures approx 14cm x 10cm x just under 3cm.
It would be easy to wrap and make a brilliant small gift or stocking filler.
This is machine washable at 30 degrees but not suitable to be tumble dried, ironed or dry cleaned.
The fabric is textured on both sides and acts like a sort of velcro, but not as strong.
When the inner face, which sort of looks like towelling but doesn’t feel like it comes into contact with the outer face, which reminds me of brushed cotton but not quite so soft feeling, they stick to each other a bit.
I picked the Doodle design, but I will be picking up the Eureka one too as it’s nice to have visibly different wraps.
I got the smaller 37cm x 37cm which is big enough for most of my kit, but actually too big for smaller lens sizes.
Did a good job on an averagely sized consumer camera body, but was barely big enough to cover a 10″ tablet so for something like that I’d want the larger size.
I would say the 37cm x 37cm is a good size for an 8″ or less tablet.
Versatile, protective wrap which sort of sticks to itself so you don’t have to faff around finding something to keep it closed.
I wouldn’t trust it to hang kit off though, it’s not that velcro like.
Self adheres very well, good size.
I’ve seen this type of wrap being used by a couple of friends and always been a little dubious. However, having now tried one out I’m very pleasantly surprised. The wrap is a good size and very well finished and the doodle wrap has a distinctive camera based design. It is very soft and gives a decent degree of protection, considering that it isn’t too thick.
I found having a square of cloth extremely useful for wrapping a variety of shapes with and for a number of items, as long as you make sure there are sufficient points of attachment (3 is recommended) and a decent area of attachment for each of the points of overlap. I was very surprised at how well the cloth attaches to itself and also how well it holds, even when carrying a weight.
Initially I was unsure about trusting a camera, or lenses, to it and started with a brass box paint palette, just in case it didn’t work. I had no concerns with it carrying the weight, even when I bounced it up and down a bit none of the attachment points came undone or even slipped a bit. It would be useful if it came with some form of strap for attaching it to a bag or for carrying it but this is no big omission.
I have now tried it with a couple of lenses and had no issues, although It won’t protect them from hard knocks or falls it will provide a good degree of protection from minor bumps and certainly helps protect them when packed into a larger case or bag.
Highly recommended.
Multi purpose camera/lens wrap
A brilliant camera/lens wrap that feels good quality. Perfect for providing extra protection for lenses and camera bodies in transit but also helpful for cleaning camera kit. Nice and lightweight and good value. I am not massively keen on the design of this one but think it’s a super helpful accessory to have in my camera kit.
A nice but niche produc
I often need to carry one of my lens’s in the top compartment of my camera backpack with several smaller items, due to the rest of the compartments being already occupied. This risks damage to the lens, so I have always wrapped it in a microfibre cloth to help protect it. Not ideal as inevitably the cloth unwraps itself whilst walking.
This wrap cloth is now going to replace the microfibre cloth. The inside of the cloth is similar to a standard microfibre cloth, but the outside is a much finer texture. When folded over it sticks to itself like a microscopic Velcro. I don’t think I would trust it to act as a carry bag as shown in the photographs in the description. However for my purposes it keeps it wrap up nicely.
A great if perhaps a niche product, I’m not sure if it wasn’t for my particular use case that I would find another use for it. But for that job it is ideal.
Good produc
This is the first time Ive used one of these cloth wraps and really impressd. They stick to themselves like Velcro so provide all round protection without any abrasive parts to scratch anything. I wouldn’t try carrying my equipment like in a sling but for extra protection these are perfect. I would have preferred them in a plain colour both sides but that is the only criticism.
TARION Camera Wrap: A Stylish and Protective Must-Have
I recently bought a TARION Camera Wrap to add some extra protection to my camera bag. While it might not be the most heavy-duty solution, it’s a good choice for everyday use.
The fabric is soft and feels nice in your hands. It’s a good alternative to bulkier padded cases, especially if you’re tight on space. I like that it comes in various prints, which is a nice touch for personalizing your gear.
The wrap secures with a self-adhesive closure. It seems to hold well for my mid-sized DSLR, but I wouldn’t trust it for a super heavy lens or camera body. It’s more for basic protection against scratches and dust.
Overall, the TARION Camera Wrap is a handy and portable option for photographers who want to add a layer of protection without adding bulk. It’s a good value for the price, especially considering the variety of designs.
