As others have noted, the small slot in a Topeak saddle bag may not stay securely attached to the bag. I found adding friction tape to the bottom of the clip solved this problem. Since I do not plan on moving the Garmin radar to another bicycle, I do not need to remove the tape to take the clip off. After 20 rides my Garmin radar is still safely on my bicycle.

I have been using this for a few months and it works great. I have a Varia and I is somewhat fussy as to where it positioned. Positioning below the bag isn't an option. I can now have a small bag under my seat which is handy to keep snacks for longer rides and still use the Varia. The only caveat is pay attention to the width of the clip. I got the narrow clip and it fit on my Topeak bag but was fairly tight. If I had purchased the wide one, it never would have worked.

I had one similar that did not last long and cost more. This one does it have as snug fit in the bag loop. So maybe that will keep it from breaking as easily. So far it works, so I’m happy and satisfied.

Was any R&D done before production? So close...
I’m not using this on a off name saddlebag. I’m using a Topeak Wedge, one of the most popular saddle bags and brands out there. The saddle bag has a spot just for a light to be clipped on.

This thing would be 5 stars, perfect if for one design flaw that makes it unreliable and difficult to install. The creators must have not done any real world testing before putting it into production. Out of the box, there is about 1mm of space in the clip, this isn’t enough to allow the retaining prong to engage as the Topeak mount causes the clip to split outward unnaturally.

I fixed this by adding multiple layers of mounting tape at the top of the clip to create more space. The creator can including a spacer in the box (to retain the original design but allow for thicker mounting material) or update the design.

I bought both the slim and wide versions bc I have two different sized saddle bags. Both work great but the wider version fits more snug. So go with the wide version if at all possible. Pros- no tools needed, good value and fits snug and secure. Only con is if you want to constantly unclip and move around bc it made to be secure not quick release.

Golden Review Award: 2 From Our UsersAfter reading the reviews, it was obvious the small size was the better choice, and it definitely was. I have a Jand bag on my daughter’s small gravel bike. There isn’t enough room to mount the Varia radar on the seat tube without it interfering with the bag or line of site view. This slides easily on the reflective loop on the bag, and fits snuggly. The larger one would have bounced around unnecessarily. The clip at the bottom of the mount keeps the mount from being ejected on rough terrain; it’s difficult to take off when you want to take it off by comparison. The Varia radar interface is sturdy and holds the radar in place well. We are getting ready to head to Unbound in a month, and this should handle the terrain well.
