Decent alternative to the Apple tags
These are a decent alternative to the Apple branded tags. They work in the same way but do come with clips to attach to bags, handbags or clothing. They have been faultless so far – with one on my car key and also in the wife’s purse.
Very impressed overall – also bonus points for value.

Utag GPS Tracker reminds me of security tags in clothing shops. They can be attached to fabric surfaces such as a back pack, coat etc. with pins. To remove the tracker, the enclosed magnet fob is required. This means if the magnet is lost you will be in trouble, unless you have some strong magnets in hand which acts like the fob. Trackers are easy to set up, and works well with FindMy app.
Very good to track keys!
Amazing device which is very similar to an Air tag. Very decent size and attaches onto my keys very well and does not get in the way at all. As i’m an iPhone user I was able to set this up easily by clicking the button on the U-Tag. I was able to track this using Find my iPhone. Very good connection and the battery life is long lasting. Very good value for money.

Keeping track of the sprogs is now easy with this very useful tracker from UTAG. They are relatively easy to set up and can be used in a variety of setting from finding keys to finding the kids. I did actaully try one on the dog who likes to go AWOL in the local woods in search of squirrels. It worked a treat. I have found the tags to be far more reliable than the TILE and would recommend them.
These are an excellent alternative to Apple AirTags and are almost identical in operation. They aren’t the same size and shape so won’t fit in an AirTag case but they have a loop at the top that allows them to be fitted to a key ring. You could also attach a split ring to this to allow it to be attached to other items. It also comes with a pin that works in the same way as the security tags in shops and is released using a magnet.
Setting up in the Apple “find my” app works flawlessly and takes a minute to do. You can then locate the tag in the app and get a map location if it is far away. When you are close you can activate a sound on the tag to locate it precisely.
These work in the same way as the Apple AirTags and they are not actually GPS devices. They need to be in the vicinity of an Apple device to have their location identified. This can be any device and doesn’t have to be yours. Anyone walking past with a iPhone will send the location to Apple and hence to your app. With the huge number of iPhones in the world this works well if the tag is where people go. If you lose it in the middle of a field you as less likely to locate it as I found when the one on my dog dropped off in farmland. In that case it is just reported as being at the last known location.
This isn’t a fault with these and just a result of the way they work. If it was actually a GPS transmitter you would be lucky to get a days use out of the battery.
If you are in the market for an AirTag this is a great alternative that works well and costs half the price of an Apple original.

Really cool air-tag like tracker dup
This pair of air-tag style UTag trackers by iDoove works with Bluetooth in close range or Find My Phone on Apple iOS via GPS if far away, and can be used to track your keys, wallet, bag, luggage etc. The CR2032 battery inside lasts for over a year so it is perfect for use when travelling this summer! The battery can easily be replaced. It is easy to pair via Bluetooth to your iPhone or iPad. It comes in a sleek black design which does not look obtrusive on your keyring and fits discreetly inside any bag.
This pair of GPS Trackers is similar to the Apple Airtag in that you register them with your IOS using the Find My app and then they can be located via the app.
The trackers are larger than the Apple AirTags but don’t need to be put into a holder as they are already in their own case and can be attached to a keyring or clothing using the magnetic pin. You would need to be very careful what type of material you are attaching it to as you could end up with a lot of small holes in it, the method is similar to security tags in clothes shops. Attaching to anything else other than clothes or keys would be difficult.
When finding the tag it doesn’t work the same as an AirTag which guides you using a directional arrow and distance. With the Utag trackers you just get a location shown on a map and you just head towards the location shown on the map. This will get you in the general area of the tracker and then you can get it to make a sound. The sound is better and louder than the AirTag so once you are a few metres away you will be able to locate it.
Excellent value for money...
Another addition to the ‘Find My’ lineup of locators, working out at 14.50 each (2 in the pack).
It’s great that these devices are gradually coming down in price, which means you can use a lot more where needed without breaking the bank.
These Utags are nice and small, and importantly… easy to hide in/under clothing, which is great for kids. They can be fastened in several ways of course, including a magnetic-release pin system which is pretty neat.
I have a wallet (credit card-size) version of one of these, but they are considerably more expensive and and actually not as ideal for certain placements.
If you can find somewhere to conceal these Utags, so much the better. They’ve got a nice (flatish) profile with no sharp edges, so could be popped inside a seam somewhere, and secured with the magnetic pin.
They work a treat (as you would expect with the Apple ‘Find My’ app), and for the money are a really decent buy IMO.
On a quality/vale-for-money basis… 5-Stars.
Very useful tags for keys
These are amazing. I’ve had my eye on AirTags for a while, but wasn’t sure they were worth the price, and wondered how well a cheaper alternative would perform. Turns out, quite well.
They work with Apple’s own FindMy app, and they are very easy to add and appear to have the same functionality.
I have one on my car keys, and it will allow me to play a sound from them if my son has been playing with them and hidden them somewhere in the house. My phone doesn’t have the directional arrow to locate them, so I don’t know if this feature works with them.
All in all, these are a very useful addition to our house. Both my wife and I often use the FindMy app to ping our phones when we can’t see them, so these two tags gives us the same functionality to use with other things.
The only negative is that even though the batteries had a tab on them to remove, the FindMy app appears to indicate that the batteries are only a quarter full (both of them). Whether my devices have been used by someone else previously (there are no other marks on them to indicate this), the batteries have been stored for some time or it’s a blip on the battery indicator function I couldn’t say – only time will tell. However, if these batteries last less than 3 months I will come back to update the review.
EDIT: The batteries are still going strong and updated shortly after activating to show that they did, in fact, have full power.
Great for kids bags etc
So i got these to try for the kids especially when we are on holiday etc to keep a track of them as they are at an age where they like to wander off by themselves. Every parents nightmare!
They’ve sussed turning off their phones to track so these instead I make them take them whenever they are not with us.
Easy to set up and work well with fond my phone feature on your own phone.
Wouldn’t be without them now. Game changer.
Effortless Tracking
The Utag GPS Tracker is a breeze to install and seamlessly integrates with iOS Find My. Setting it up was a breeze too. However, I wish there was more information about its performance in rainy conditions, as there’s no mention of waterproofing on the box or instructions, only on the Amazon page. Additionally, finding a compatible waterproof case seems challenging. Overall, great for tracking but something to keep in mind for rainy days.
Cannot be removed BUT can be switched off
These are perfect for keeping track of the kids. Full instructions are enclosed and are easy to follow. After opening “Find My” on my phone the trackers instantly appeared. Easy to attach to bags, clothing etc and easy to remove (with the magnetic un-locker). Two spare pins are also included. The only slight drawback with these is that whilst they cannot be removed without the un-locker, they can be switched off. It would’ve been better if the on/off switch was hidden/covered, by the pin for example. But on the whole these are excellent.

The only issues I have with these is that they don’t give real time tracking. The kinds of items I want to put this on like bags, if stolen you want to be able to track before they are found and cut off….. And you would definitely want real-time tracking on your child or dog before they got too far away.
So these seem better suited to things you might mislay in the house but then you probably don’t need the magnetic locking pin.
Also good for lost luggage on airlines, situations where things aren’t where they’re meant to be but not actually stolen and on the move.
