did what it said it would
This did what it said it would – switched between my laptop and PC to my single DisplayPort monitor. Shame I need to use an external power supply for it – I don’t need that on my 2in1out HDMI switcher – but it is shown in the pictures within the listing so can’t really complain about it. Would recommend.
Does the job
This rather useful device arrives in a small easy to recycle cardboard box. I found it to well-made with a good build quality. Like most such switches it supports a good range of resolutions, right upto 8K.
Though it should be noted it doesn’t auto switch, you have to press a button, but that’s hardly any hardship. Plus it only supports DisplayPort connections, not HDMI. “Officially” it requires USB-C power for “stable operations”, but you might find it works without that. Though if it does, it’s no big deal to find an old phone charger and USB-C cable.
Overall? If your kit uses DisplayPorts and you want two displays, this is a good affordable choice.
Great for 2 in to 1
My stupid monitor only has one DP port, and the HDMI port on it is only v1.1 ..So this little switch has been a fantastic solution to a long-term problem – allowing me to easily flick between my laptop and my PC.
On the down-side it’s a manual switch, and there was no short DP cable in the box – so make sure you can put the switch somewhere in reach, and that you have any extra cables you need.
Very well designed switch box that works great, but it's a shame it's only unidirectional
This is a really nice switch box for DisplayPort connectivity. You should only see DisplayPorts on PC monitors rather than TVs as that is what they were designed for. This switch is really well made, and of very solid construction. Thankfully they have put some thought into the design and how it looks, and it’s great to see that this isn’t just an ugly square box. Looks are important on a switch such as this as you have to have it out in the open really so that you can get to the button easily in order to switch ports.
This has a lovely grey / silver colour and the edges are rounded off to give it smoother look. Thankfully all the devices are now coming with USB-C ports to power them, and they have provided a cable for just that. The actual switch to toggle it from one input source to the other is the black button you see on top. The button depresses in and stays in when you switch it to one input port, and then you press it again to get it to pop back out when you are using the other input port. This button is surrounded by a funny little black design, and I don’t know how to describe that design to be honest, but you can clearly see it in the advert pictures, and I feel that it just adds to the overall look of it, plus in this area you will find the little green status lights to signify which port is currently in use.
Functionality wise this works really well and the picture I get on my monitor is nice and sharp and you just wouldn’t know that there is a switch in between, unless you knew already of course. I have given this 4 stars as I think they have missed a trick here to ensure that people buy this switch rather than a competitors, and that is that it is only unidirectional. Had they made this a bidirectional switch for the same price then this would have been a clear winner over the competition. As it stands, most people will probably try to find a bidirectional switch as it gives them more possibilities if they want to use it for a different purpose at a later date. If they can get a bidirectional switch for this price (and I have seen some bidirectional switches at a similar, sometimes cheaper, price), then they will most likely go for that.
With that said, this definitely delivers on what it promises, and looks great while doing it, and if you are only interested in a unidirectional switch, then this is definitely one of the better options on the market.
Does the job it was made fo
I haven’t been able to verify the claims of 8k @ 60 hz, or 4k @144hz, but I have connected 2 devices to my 2k monitor and achieved the 160hz refresh rate that it is capable of, so given that it’s DP 1.4 compliant, it should support 2k up to 240 hz, and 8k @ 60hz.
There is a USB-C slot to power the device. I’ve not tried it without, just to ensure stable running, but similar devices I’ve owned haven’t required the external power. I just attached it to a spare USB socket, which is adequate to power it.
There’s no additional driver to download, or any configuration required, it’s treated by your device as just being the cable connected directly to the monitor when switched to that device. It’s a manual switch, so you need to press the button in the middle of the unit, and that’s got a nice positive feel to it, and you would have to press it pretty hard to accidentally switch. Very satisfied with this, being able to connect my work PC and gaming PC to the same monitor using only a single DP socket.
Great DisplayPort Switch
This DisplayPort switch is a great solution for managing multiple monitors. The picture quality is clear and supports high resolutions. It’s easy to use and switch between devices, though the design could be slightly more compact. The build feels sturdy and reliable. Overall, it’s a useful device for anyone needing to connect multiple displays. I’m satisfied with its performance and ease of use.
simple and reliable
I recently purchased the VEDINDUST DisplayPort Switch 2 in 1 Out, and it works a treat. This switcher supports impressive resolutions of 8K@60Hz, 4K@144Hz, and 4K@60Hz, making it ideal for high-definition displays on TVs, monitors, laptops, PCs, and projectors. The build quality is fairly good, providing a reliable connection without any signal loss or degradation. Switching between devices is seamless and hassle-free. It’s a unidirectional switch, so setup is straightforward. Overall, the VEDINDUST DisplayPort Switch is a fantastic solution for managing multiple display sources, offering excellent performance and value.
HDMI port splitte
A very well made, easy to use HDMI two into one switcher unit.
Simply plug the two source HDMI cables in one side and the to display from other side.
Press button to switch between sources without any cable faffing.
Greatly Reduce your spiderweb of cables with this, these to make swapping… a simple press of button.
Better than one I had which didn't have a power supply
I got this to replace another HDMI splitter that I have that has been driving me mad with the picture flickering all the time.
This unit is powered and, so far, the picture has been fully stable with no flickering.
I don’t have the ability to test 8k but for what I need it for it works just fine and is reasonably priced.
DisplayPort Switch 2 in 1 switch
This is really good quality and is very well made. It gives you a reliable connection and runs nice and cool and connected every time. A good value option with peace of mind it gives a reliable data transfer.
Very good!
The VEDINDUST DisplayPort Switch 2 in 1 is made of metal (aluminium) so is strong and sturdy, however the switch is plastic so doesn’t feel quite as sturdy.
The supplied USB cable is a little on the short side, however one could always change this to their own longer one if needed. It works perfectly for HD but I’m unable to test it for 4k or 8k as I don’t have that equipment. However, as there is no issue with HD I’m sure it will work as advertised. Definitely worth getting if a display port switch is needed for your particular set up.
Please note, the connection is display port not HDMI.
Very compact, requires USB power - stable picture
VEDINDUST DisplayPort Switch
Switch is uni-directional so only supports
– choice of two inputs to one outputs – TV/monitor (great for consoles/streaming devices etc)
So it won’t duplicate the display on two screens at the same time.
Device is the smallest I’ve seen at 6*5*5cm and 1.3cm deep – Bottom is smooth metal so it could slide around and has a central switch on the top to choose between ports. Very small LEDS indicate port selected. Includes a USB-C input to provide the required power.
Doesn’t support auto-switching (e.g. when you disconnect) so needs to be kept accessible.
