This levelling rake works well. I have not used any other brands so I have nothing to compare it to.
I used a wheel barrow to dump the soil, then a wide tooth rake to loosely spread it out before finishing with the levelling rake. The lumps and dips in my back lawn were levelled out fairly easily in one afternoon. You will have to shake the rake out often as soil gets trapped along the edges. It is also a great full body work out as the rake is heavy and takes effort to push and pull the soil. It wouldn’t work well if it was lighter.
It was simple to assemble. I’m 5’7, 53, female and was able to use the rake with no major issues.
It really helped with leveling our yard. We had so many pot holes and this was easy to set up and heavy enough to level out the top soil we brought in.

This rake is awesome. The quality is outstanding and was easy to use. The value was worth it and you can adjust the length. I had many holes large and small to fill and I could maneuver the leveling rake easily. It is heavier than expected but, I am extremely happy with my purchase.

Received this yesterday so I set it up and put it through its paces. Set up was easy and took about 5 min. I already has some topsoil to spread so i dumped a couple of piles into some low spots and dragged the leveler to spread the soil. It was easy and the ground was definitely more level when finished. The product looks to be well made and should last for years to come.
Excellent for levelling lawn with top soil - well built too
The product is easy to assemble and built with high-quality materials.
My spaniel had been busy carving springer tracks into the lawn and ripping out chunks while chasing her ball and creating an uneven surface.
Mowed the lawn on a low setting, and dumped the top soil into even piles around the garden.
Previously I’ve used the back of a rake, but the Walensee is so much better.
Spreads the soil evenly into the gaps, gliding across the grass easily.
The lawn is now level and the bare patches have new grass seed growing.
I can feel the difference in the mower, before it was bouncing all over the place, now it hardly bounces at all.
Great produc
Works well
Easy to put together. Has a very long handle which is ideal. Reasonably heavy base. I placed loam in heaps on the grass and was able to distribute across the lawn to level out the ground. Although it will probably need a few more passes. The base is wide enough to spread across the lumps in the ground but not so large to make it difficult to use. For the price paid seems fairly robust and good value for money.
Great item very strudy.
This lawn rake is great quality and sturdy, has a long handle that you can take out some extensions to make shorter, really pushes the grass seed into the grass and soil.
Sehr guter Rasenrakel
Based on overall reviews for the various models of these rakes I didn’t have high hopes quality-wise but I was pleasantly surprised. This is a solidly built rake, decently heavy and most importantly the 3-piece handle is of heavier gauge steel and is bolted together (as opposed to several pieces screwing into one another). It also comes with its own allen keys and wrenches…literally takes 5 minutes to put together. Seems like good value for money.
So, I found myself in a pickle, restricted by the mystical realm of “weekend delivery.” Lo and behold, this hunk of a tool graced my doorstep in record time. It’s like Amazon sensed my urgency and sent it racing to me like a knight on a noble steed.
Now, let’s talk about this bad boy. It’s as sturdy as a battleship and as straightforward to assemble as connecting the dots on a child’s coloring book. Just a bit of handle-jiggery-pokery and voila! But let’s not forget the pice de rsistance — those magnificent locking nuts. They clung to their posts like a koala to a eucalyptus tree, even in the midst of my most vigorous yard crusade.
Speaking of which, armed with this tool of mass soil-movement, facing my once treacherous yard, a landscape littered with “ankle twisters.” With determination that could rival a warrior going into battle, I conquered those piles of sandy loam soil. My yard, once an uneven terrain capable of launching unsuspecting ankles into orbit, is now a symphony of level ground.
Now, if you’re the cautious type, let me advise you on a game plan. First, summon your trusty garden rake to orchestrate the piles to push them around to rough grade. Then, enter this heavyweight champ to perform the delicate dance of precision leveling. But guess what? Yours truly, in all my audacity, skipped that cautious route and went all-in with the weighty wonder. It’s like a true test of survival — both for the tool and for yours truly. And guess what? We both emerged victorious!
So there you have it, folks. This tool is the Hercules of heavy-duty soil manipulation. It’s a tale of bravery, triumph, and an oddly satisfying yard transformation. If you’re looking to make your yard less ankle-twisty and more “I could do cartwheels here,” then grab this tool and embrace the adventure. Your yard and your ankles will thank you — trust me on this, I’m practically a soil-shifting poet now.
I have researched many leveling rakes over the past month and read comparisons what to look for when buying these tools. Since these rakes are not easy to find in many stores and can be very expensive, I decide to dive in and purchase one. The leveling rake maneuvers very well gliding across the ground to distribute dirt, sod, sand, whatever is the way. I even like the horizontal bars in the middle that tend to pick up debris as it scoots. I can dump that additional debris into the bushes on my next round. I do like the width of the 30″ because it proves an evenness when distributing the payload. The 3 connecting bars to make the handle performs very well under the strain. I’ve only had to hand tighten a couple of times, but doesn’t interfere with the work. For the price, it’s a no brainer. I could not have made it for the price and I can expect to be using this 4-5 times during the course of a year when adding more topsoil to my lawn.
