Great Visuals, but Wind Noise Falls Sho
The DJI Osmo Action 3 is a solid, well-built action camera with a ton of features and configurations that make it versatile for use in different environments. The image and video quality are excellent, delivering sharp visuals even in fast-paced scenarios.

However, the wind noise handling could be better—when I use it on my motorbike, the audio is practically unusable due to the excessive wind noise. Aside from that, I’m very happy with its performance. If you’re primarily focused on video quality, this camera won’t disappoint.

Use it for POV photography videos. Brilliant.
Love this camera, you get such a good deal for just over 200. I bought this camera to record myself whilst I do photography, I attach it to my chest and it works brilliantly. It has enough features to do lots of different things with it.

The protective case works really well and doesn’t compromise on performance on the pressing of the buttons. Although to take the battery and sd card out you do have to remove the case. You can charge the DJI straight from the camera with a USB C cable so you don’t need to remove the battery at all.

What I love the most about the camera is the stability, as an action camera the stability is super important and this one works a treat!

I have recorded a quick video of the camera but there are so many extra things it has which I am yet to use.

    DJI action 3
Purchased as a light video set up 4k60fps had no issues with sharpness or over heating can record 4k60fps untill battery is dead, battery life is around the 1hr/1hr30mins mark but with the battery case very quick recharge .
Image stabilization is absolutely amazing rock steady+ and horizon balancing is wonderful.
DJI mimo is simple to use to download videos onto mobile or used to edit using templates will recommend lightcut for full video editing on mobile.
One little negative but to be expected with small chips sensors is noise at low light.

Tip to extend battery life is if using as a dash cam or doing timelaspes in options turn off screen after 1 min this extended the battery to around 3/4 hrs for me.

Perfect feature vs price combo for me
This is my first action cam, I wanted something robust for the kid to use when out and about. Debated going for the new models but glad I went for this, it’s perfect for my needs. Battery is great, video and photo quality is plenty for me, easy to use. The DJI App was a bit of a faff to download but it is good now I’ve got it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersGood camera. Easy to use
Got this DJI camera to replace my GoPro. It’s been a much better experience. The video quality is only slightly better IMHO and that could be debated but the rest of the experience is much better. It’s more reliable, battery life is better, charges faster, menus and settings are easier to work with, the quick release mount is amazing and the overall design is better.

On top of that the app is better and doesn’t nag me to upgrade to a paid monthly subscription every time I use it like GoPro.

At the discounted price it’s also good value. I definitely recommend switching to DJI if you’re on the fence about GoPro. You can still use all of your old GoPro mounts too if you have them. There’s even a cage from Ulanzi that has GoPro style feet built in if you want to use both styles to mount your camera.

Golden Review Award: 5 From Our UsersI love this little camera.
This camera is a great little action camera and this pack gives you everything you need out of the box, except a micro SD card. You’ll need to buy one of those, and you’ll need to buy a good one as DJI products can be a little fussy about what cards they’ll accept. I use SanDisk, but beware the cheap fakes out there. The footage this little camera shoots is great for most people, it shoots from 1080 all the way up to 4K. It gives natural flattish footage, not the hyper bright GoPro style, but more realistic tones. Battery life is great, and this pack comes with three, so you’re unlikely to run out on a normal day’s shooting. It has touchscreens front and back and the awesome magnetic quick release clip system. It comes with two of these clips, plus a telescopic selfie stick and a self adhesive desk mount. Be warned the self adhesive sticker is by 3M and it will stay exactly where you put it, so make sure that that is precisely where you want it before you stick it.
This model has been recently replaced by the Action 4, but for the price of just the Action 4, you can get the Action 3 plus spare batteries, a handy charger case and an additional magnetic clip. The Action 4 has a few upgrades and better low light capabilities, but most of us shoot in the daylight and if you’re just staring out with action cameras you are probably better off getting this kit with it’s proven camera and additional batteries. Still a valid purchase despite being superseded.

DJI Osmo Action 3 is a top-notch action camera
The Osmo Action 3 delivers stunning 4K video quality with incredible clarity and vivid colours. Whether I’m capturing my outdoor adventures or shooting family moments, the video quality is simply outstanding.
The built-in RockSteady stabilization technology is a game-changer. It ensures that my footage is smooth and steady, even in the most extreme conditions. No more shaky shots!

The battery life is impressive. I can record for hours without worrying about running out of power. It’s a relief knowing I won’t miss any of the action due to a dead battery.

The DJI Mimo app makes it easy to edit and share my footage. I can quickly transfer files to my phone and create stunning videos with just a few taps.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersSuperb motorcycle helmet camera!
Bought Adventure combo used for a price I couldn’t say no to and honestly I couldn’t tell it had been used previously. All accessories including camera looked brand new to me.

Having tested this little action camera for a month before submitting a review, I have to say that it’s functionality as a motorcycle helmet action camera is second to none. The magnetic mount is hands down what caught my eye instead of a goPro. The fact I can unmount and then mount it as a car dash cam without having to unscrew knobs makes life so much easier.

The build quality is very good and feels premium not like cheap and flimsy like my very first action camera which was a Crosstour CT9900.

Internal camera audio sounds clear so no complaints there. Not sure how clear audio will be if used in an environment where it’s loud but I imagine not amazing as these types of action cameras always need external microphones to capture crisp clean audio.

The video quality at 4k 60fps is very good and the rocksteady stabilization is insane and definitely as good as my Insta360 One X2 flowstate stabilization. Haven’t tried recording at 4k 120fps so can’t comment on that.

The battery life seems to be around 120mins when recording in 1080p 30fps around around 80mins when recording at 4k 60fps so the acclaimed 180mins I have no idea where DJI got that from. The extra 3 batteries and charging case is handy when going on long motorcycle journeys so that’s definitely a plus.

The Quick Settings feature is definitely useful when switching out different recording settings but you can’t set the one button shutter when the camera is off to any of these Quick Settings which is just dumb. You can’t set the camera to instantly take a photo with the one button shutter when the camera is off either…DJI need to roll out a new firmware update to add these features immediately.

Night recording is usable but not amazing…so don’t expect amazing video quality if you’re planning on using this at night time. There’s definitely motion blur with rocksteady applied so if you set the camera is manual exposure settings the blur is less notable.

Initially I didn’t think the front facing touch screen is all that important or useful but it definitely is when used for vlogging yourself to see what you will look like in the frame. The touch screen on the back seems to be slightly more responsive than the front touch screen but this is a minor issue for me.

The camera cage provided is useful but why you cannot remove the battery or SD card without taking the cage off is annoying.

It comes with a selfie stick but I haven’t used this yet as I mostly vlog with the insta360 One X2 as it has the invisible selfie stick feature.

I wish the adventure combo came with a protective foam camera case just so you don’t scratch the lens cap but you can always replace the lens cap as it’s removable which is a bonus.

An important firmware update DJI needs to add is the ability to set the microphone gain level to go lower than -12dB after inserting an external microphone because when used as a motorcycle helmet camera, any speed exceeding 45mph the camera audio becomes distorted and unusable. DJI recommends their DJI wireless mic system but that costs nearly 300 which is ridiculous.

Overall I would highly recommend this camera but the audio needs fixing when used as a helmet camera.

Would give 4.5 stars but the option isn’t there. If DJI fixes the the external microphone audio gain levels to combat the distortion at high speeds then it’s easily a 5/5 from me.
