Good kit for a first time.
The kit includes everything you need to do a replacement, the included driver is good enough if you don’t have anything else but isnt magnetised and the bits fall out if you turn it upside down.
The shell itself is good quality, the plastic is smooth to the touch and well machined. Screws were included (several more than necessary, especially considering the joycon you’re replacing the shell of should have screws you could reuse).
One thing I felt the kit was missing was SL/SR buttons, none are included so you have to make do with what you have. It’s not a big issue though, especially if you mostly use your joycons in a grip like I do.
Works and looks great – it was a stressful process mostly due to the tools provided. I highly recommend purchasing separate screwdrivers and preferably tweezers too. They stripped a few screws very easily and then the Y00 screwdriver broke. This meant the first one took 4 days and the second one (after getting tools) took 20 minutes. Just find a good video and it’ll go well – I had no prior experience with this and am so comfortable with it now I’ve purchased another set.
Great Quality Produc
These Joy Con shells are excellent. My old joy cons were fully working but the shells had worn badly and when attached to my switch would wobble around. These new shells have completely fixed this. Usually any aftermarket customisations are a bit poor and don’t quite fit right, not the case with this shell. It fits excellently and you would believe they are new straight out of the Nintendo factory. You do need to know what you are doing before taking the Joy Cons apart so make sure you watch a youtube tutorial if you are unsure about what you are doing. Very pleased
