When purchasing DDR4 RAM, should I choose desktop memory or laptop memory?
Desktop memory and laptop memory are not interchangeable. Make sure to buy the right type for your device (desktop memory for desktops and laptop memory for laptops)
Should I choose DDR4 or DDR3 computer memory?
DDR3 and DDR4 have different appearances and notch locations, so they cannot be used interchangeably. Therefore, please confirm whether the slot on the motherboard is a DDR4 slot or a DDR3 slot before purchasing.
About computer memory timing
For regular users, CL15 to CL18 DDR4 memory suffices, providing solid performance for daily tasks. Gamers and performance-focused users may seek lower timings for improved performance, but they often come at a higher price.

Works at rated speed and compatability better then some high priced ram
i’ve been using fanxiang m.2’s for awhile never had an issue, bought some corsair lpx would not work on at rated speed tried the fanxiang and no problem xmp 2 3600mhz no problem, even bought a second set for another build, good ram nice rgb and works at the rated speed
Excellent overclocking RAM
I can’t fault these 32GB (2x 16GB) fanxiang RGB DDR4 3600 MHz CL18 1.35V overclocking RAM modules, which arrive in a secure blister packaging. They slot in perfectly in place and are picked up by the computer without issues. I installed them in the empty slots on my gaming tower and can really notice the difference in what I’m able to achieve in terms of higher frame rates in my gaming. They also light up in a cool RGB display which looks really nice through the clear side panel of my tower. Remember to get yourself an anti-static wristband before installing them!
Working grea
Was a bit apprehensive of these but as soon as I put them in work from the get go faster boot up and better FPS on games that were bottle necking my system. Good performance
Impressed
Wow I’ve just installed this in my computer it fired up first time I now have 128g of ram in my computer I’ve had the experience brand in before and took a while to recognise my computer will definitely recommend getting this brand and the rgb light is amazing
Now it's a party!
One of the drawbacks of reviewing Vine items is that you don’t usually get the option to choose a specific variation of a product. I noticed on the actual product listing for this fanxiang 2 x 16GB DDR4 3600Mhz kit that there are multiple options for this – including one that would better match my CPU. You see – I’m running on an i5 14400F – which apparently supports up to 3200Mhz. While this memory works fine – I’m not really ‘maxing it out’.
Having said that – as a consumer – there’s no real downside to running with downclocked memory – and it might come in useful if I upgrade! Installed on my Asus H610M-A mobo – this memory maxed out at 2985.42 MB/s (VOVSOFT RAM Benchmark) which was identical to the genuine 3200Mhz memory I had installed previously.
This is definitely meant for gamers – the LEDs are a bit of a giveaway! (see video). They look pretty good – I could think of some other superlatives but they wouldn’t befit a middle-aged bloke such as I.
Installation was a little bit odd. These sticks feel a bit ‘chunkier’ compared to my ‘well known brand’ ones that were installed previously. In fact the PC didn’t POST first time as the stick wasn’t pressed into the slot fully – even though it felt like it was (one to watch out for).
Talking of brands – I hadn’t heard of fanxiang until I recently reviewed an external NVMe drive. They are an established Chinese manufacturer that have been operating since 2005 apparently. They don’t fit into the ‘well known brand’ category as yet though – and that’s the one problem I have with this product – it’s priced like it’s from one. At the time of writing this kit has been reduced to 65.90 which is still not particularly aggressively competitive.
Pretty though!

Speeds things up
I am no computer wizz so find it hard to write a detailed review. All I know is that my older PC was running slow and my local tech guy suggested that I bought some extra RAM which he could fit into my machine. All done (after a tricky start) and boy is it a different experience. Up and running much better and hopefully I will not need to buy a whole new machine for another couple of years when technology moves on once again. The rating is also set via feedback from my tech guy.
Good budget RAM
The fanxiang RGB DDR4 RAM 32GB kit (2x16GB), currently priced at 64.90, offers a decent value for those looking to upgrade their system without breaking the bank. While it’s not the cheapest option available, it is significantly more affordable than some of the top-tier brands, making it a viable choice for budget-conscious builders.
First off, the performance of this RAM is solid. Running at 3600 MHz, it provides a noticeable boost in speed and efficiency. I installed it in my son’s gaming PC, and the improvement in performance was evident right away.
One of the standout features is the RGB lighting, which adds a fun and visually appealing touch to the setup. This might seem like a small detail, but it really adds to the overall aesthetic, especially if you have a case with a clear side panel.
However, there are a few downsides. The RAM modules are a bit taller than standard ones due to the RGB components, which could be an issue if you have a large CPU cooler that hangs over the RAM slots. In terms of value, fanxiang RAM offers a lot for the price. It’s not as cheap as some other budget options, but the combination of performance and aesthetics makes it a good middle-ground choice. For me, it’s a fine alternative, though there are other brands I might consider over fanxiang if the prices were closer.
Pros:
– Attractive RGB lighting
– Good performance boost for multitasking and gaming
– Effective heat dissipation with aluminum alloy heat sinks
Cons:
– Taller modules may not fit under some large CPU coolers
– Slightly pricey compared to other budget options
If you’re looking to upgrade your system and want a balance of performance and visual appeal, the fanxiang RGB DDR4 RAM is definitely worth considering.
Great value
Listed for 75.99 when I ordered and currently a lower price with a extra 10% discount on top. I am collecting parts for building my first gaming pc on a budget and this ram was good specs. It is DDR4 so not perhaps for high-end spec pcs but for what I am looking for it is perfect. Easy to install and the RGB is fun as my pc case has a glass side so you can see into the case. My current laptop has 16GB so 32GB I can see a huge difference is gaming performance. I only heard good feedback about fanxiang when I showed them this RAM I ordered so I feel confident with my choice and it should last until I upgrade my whole system to DDR5.
Great eventual upgrade for our PC
I got this to upgrade our gaming PC and first impressions are that it looks very impressive and solidly made. We’re probably going to go for a clear case so the RGB lighting option is very attractive for us.
Our current setup isn’t compatible with this but we were able to test it out on a friend’s PC and their computer recognised the new ram easily without issues. The computer was faster and ran very smoothly.
The 0.8mm thick aluminium alloy heat sink gives me peace of mind for its longevity and I’m very much looking forward to setting up my new PC.
At 69.50 (with a 10% voucher at time of review) it’s pricey but seems very sturdy and worth it for having 2 x 16GB pieces.
exceptional choice for those seeking high performance and aesthetic appeal
The Fanxiang RGB DDR4 RAM 32GB kit (2x16GB) at 3600 MHz CL18 1.35V is a high-performance memory solution designed for gamers, content creators, and PC enthusiasts who seek both aesthetics and functionality. Here’s an in-depth review of the product:
Design and Build Quality
The Fanxiang RGB DDR4 RAM stands out with its striking RGB lighting that can be synchronized with various motherboard lighting software, adding a vibrant touch to any gaming rig or custom build. The heat spreaders are not only visually appealing but also serve to effectively dissipate heat, ensuring stable performance during intense tasks. The build quality is robust, with well-finished components that reflect a premium feel.
Performance
This 32GB kit, running at 3600 MHz with a CAS latency of 18, provides a significant boost in performance, especially for memory-intensive applications like gaming, video editing, and 3D rendering. The high-speed performance facilitates smoother multitasking and faster load times. The memory operates at 1.35V, which is standard for overclocked RAM, balancing performance and power efficiency.
Overclocking and XMP 2.0
The inclusion of Intel XMP 2.0 profiles simplifies the overclocking process, allowing users to easily achieve optimal performance settings without extensive manual tuning. During testing, the RAM demonstrated impressive stability at 3600 MHz, with the potential to push further with fine-tuning, making it an excellent choice for overclocking enthusiasts.
Great memory for a great price.
Fanxiang RGB DDR4 32Gb ram kit.
This was on sale for 75.99 when I got it. It has a 20% voucher available too.
I build my own computers, have done since the 90’s, and I usually always use Crucial memory, it’s a great brand and you know exactly what you’re getting.
My current computer is running 16Gb of DDR4 at 2667mhz, and has been running great, but recently I’ve started learning Fusion 360 and computer aided design, and occasionally when I’m running that and 3d printing stuff, my computer has started to slow down a little.
This ram kit is good because my current motherboard will only take 32Gb of ram, so I was able to swap out my existing memory and install this kit instead. Fits easily, as you would expect, the only thing is it is a slight bit taller than the old ram, so if you have a CPU cooler that sticks out over the ram slots, it could prevent you installing it with the extra height of with the RGB on it. I didn’t have that problem thankfully and it went straight in.
The computer recognised the new ram as soon as it powered up and it worked without issues. Not only do I have twice the ram I had before, but the actual speed of the ram is faster. The computer seems to be faster and it’s not bogging down when I’m doing everything at once.
The RGB is nice, but my current case doesn’t allow me to see it, but it’s nice to have the ability in the future to show it off.
Like I said at the start, I’m used to running one type of memory, but I’m happy to use this, seems to be a good quality memory, and for the price, it’s better than half price what the corresponding Crucial memory would be for the same speed. It’s definitely made me question my future memory purchases.
Works well, no issues
At over 75 its not especially cheap and I would normally go for one of the mainstream brands at this price. However, it all arrived well packaged, performs well and survived all of the memory tests and speed tests I threw at it, so on that basis I can recommend it (in my case 32GB consisting of 2 matched 16GB modules).
My PC is a closed tower case, so the RGB element doesn’t matter to me, but it looks good and is easy to control with OpenRGB. It would be useful if Fanxiang provided some instructions for the RGB side though as there is no information in the package.
Doesn’t quite manage the claimed speed or latency.
fanxiang RGB DDR4 RAM 32GB kit (2x16GB) 3600 MHz CL16 Computer Memory XMP 2.0 High Performance ….
My title says it all really. This is a dual RAM kit, comes with 2 x 16GB modules, there is a tiny leaflet included which explains how to fit or remove RAM but there is nothing else other than a brief mention about setting XMP/EXPO/DOCP. No specifications on the box or even on the RAM modules themselves.
Fitting is simplicity, remove my old RAM, fit the new. This RAM has some nice RGB colour, nice for gamers with clear lids on their systems. It states the RGB lighting is customisable, but I don’t know how and there are no instructions, I suspect a 3rd party bit of software for that.
The RAM registered ok, and I carried out a memory test and no faults were found. My motherboard had set the RAM at quite a low speed, so I had to enter the BIOS and enable ‘DOCP’ and went with the defaults of 3600Mhz CL18-22-22-42. Well, my system went into a downward spiral of crashing, so time to go through the BIOS and adjust settings to find the best and most stable.
The maximum speed I could get was 3468Mhz, any higher and my computer would not boot at all, emitting a series of beeps, even at this speed my system kept having random crashes, I settled for 3400Mhz which seems stable enough but there was no way possible I could get to CL16, and it remains at CL18 at best. Unfortunately, the memory I removed was running at 3200Mhz CL15 resulting in slightly better latency.
So, in conclusion, the RAM works fine but just short of its stated speed and CL settings, the only benefit I have with this RAM over my original is that this is 32GB whereas I only had 16GB before so its not a bad trade up. The RGB on the RAM looks good but I don’t know how to control it. The RAM doesn’t get overly hot even during stress tests and remains just warm under normal use. As for ‘High Performance Overclocking’ this would be the case about 4 years ago!
If you need some extra RAM, then this is fine, but for this price, I would rather choose a well-known and rated brand. A bit more information about the RAM would have been nice too.
