Fitness Tracke
Comfortable. Easy to use. Occasional issues with syncing. Resolved usually by force stop app, restart the Fitbit and restart the app device and reopen the app in that order. Recommend cleaning the Fitbit with a damp cloth once a week and dry after.
Better than previous lesser model I had
Previous Fitbit screen just faded and faded and died away after 2 years or so. Much better display on this and of course colour. All seems to work well and appears rugged.
Charge 6 fitbi
Looks good, does what it says on the tin. What more can I say other than watch the price. I got mine for 119 but a few days later 139. Now down to 124. Prices sometimes vary on the 3 colours so don’t rush into purchase if you think it is a bit pricey
Nearly there
Overall a good tracker but two things let it down. One: the GPS is abysmal, over the couple of months I have had the Charge 6 I have got only ONE map. Two: there is no altimeter! I do a lot of hill walking and I like to know the levels of elevation I achieved. I naively thought that a feature on my old Charge 2 would be carried over to newer models but it was removed apparently to make room for other features that I don’t need e.g skin temperature.
On the plus side it is comfortable to wear, interacts well with my phone (apart from the GPS) and the screen is legible in strong sunlight.
Seems to be a big step up from the Charge 5
An update nearly a month on.
Well, this one has just given me a record for a Fitbit tracker with 8 days of battery life, and even then it was only down to 16%.
I do wear it at night to track sleep and with premium features on. Very happy, especially as I have removed YouTube and Google maps.
Having got fed up with poor battery life on my Charge 5, I finally bit the bullet and upgraded. Well, in the first week, fully charged Wednesday, and by the following Wednesday it was down to 22% so I recharged to 100%. I’m being a bit nerdy by recording the charging dates and will report back. The addition of a single button on the LH side of the watch.
A few more functions (why would I want to view YouTube on my watch???) but generally a bit slicker all round
Superb watch. Has plenty of tech you need at a very good price. Battery life is awesome. Screen visability in sunlight is still very clear. Much better value than an Apple Watch.
Clear displays
This was bought to replace an older version that frequently failed to connect to the app. Had a couple of hiccups with this one but generally very pleased. Quite easy to use different programs / settings. Looks sma
Good smart watch for activity and sleep tracking
his is my 3rd fitbit. It is ok for the price. Ii is a small upgrade from fitbit 5. I am surprised the new model does not include features like BP check once calibrated. I also use OMRON scales, and again there is no linkage with OMRON, one if the leading smart scales in the market.
it meets the minimum needs i consider important at a reasonable price. If i can spend 200 to 300 there are many better products.
With advances on tech and with google backing, i personally expect better for c.100 watch.
Chinese watches do what fitbit does for lot less. BUT not as robust in terms of lifespan and quality.
Moan over. I recommend the watch for those with tight budge
Fitbit charge 6
I find the fitbit charge 6 is great as you know its charging because of the buzz when you connect it to the charger. The bluetooth pairing and code was the most difficult bit to do. I like that is pretty similar to charge 5 but would like to be able to monitor climbing floors, have google assistant and fall detection on it. If you want this buy the google pixel watch 2 instead. Otherwise its a great device. Battery life is excellent and around the 7 days as expected. It seems more accurate and sensitive.
Upgraded my beloved Charge 2 last year to a Lux and somehow felt slightly underwhelmed like something was missing. So I decided after a year to upgrade back to a Charge. Somehow I’m still slightly disappointed.
The screen is lovely – bright and responsive.
Its a nice size on the wrist and feels comfy. It tracks what it should, though I have to continually force it to sync with the app.
Battery life is great.
But it doesn’t feel like an upgrade from what my Charge 2 could track fitness wise.
It doesnt track floors.
I have now found it wants to be an apple watch and no longer quietly tracks my dog walking – it knows I’ve started but it cant auto stop? Unless I remember to say i’ve finished otherwise it will track me forever more. What!?
I tried an apple watch for a couple of months and the reason I didnt get one was the ridiculous size, the ridiculous price and the fact that for such an expensive bit of kit it should be able to automatically detect what I’m doing and when I’m doing it – instead of asking me if i want to track my walk. Because if I dont then it wont!
Why is fitbit trying to be apple? This is my greatest gripe. I picked a fitbit because I wanted a fitbit. I dont need youtube or wallet – though a map might be useful.
I’ve raved about my Charge 2 for years but now, since Google have taken over i’m just not that impressed anymore.
If apple did a small watch now I’d be more tempted to jump ship!
Dont get me wrong – its a great bit of kit, especially if you are new to fitbit. If you’re not you may be disappointed.
Upgrade time
My 5 was showing signs of age, not happy charging or synching. So got a new one. Strap was a pain to change even though it’s the same as the 5. Overall it charges much faster, battery life is much longer and seems more sensitive than the 5. For example it seems to count steps more accurately.
A great gadget with some issues
I bought this for my wife, she loves it, first set up and connecting to her smart phone was easy to follow and she really likes the features, sleep recording etc. However, having used the ECG function once, the next time she went to use it it was missing….cue much searching online only to find this is a not an uncommon problem and involves re setting the device and re loading the feature. This is not something I want to be wasting my time doing on a brand new device, it is complicated and I am wary of making it worse. It’s a great gadget but not perfect.
While this product is great overall, with its tracking being almost as good across the board as the Apple Watches and one of the best options for Android users for a fitness and health-focused Watch, while being offered at a fantastic price point, it’s not perfect.
1. The strap itself causes a rash/irritation even if you clean it multiple times throughout the day, I clean it at minimum twice a day, I swap wrists from day to night and I still experience redness, soreness, and itchiness from wearing it, so I will have to replace the strap, the strap itself really needs to be changed.
2. It’s slightly difficult to get the Watch to track sleep well. However, it seems that once you find a good position for it and maintain that position and do keep it very snug throughout the night it will function as expected, until you find that perfect position it can fail to track the in-depth sleep stage details.
3. and this is nitpicking, how are we letting Apple consistently beat these products in efficiency? It’s not by much, but studies have shown when compared, Apple’s current range of watches perform better in tracking than any Android device, not just this one.
Overall 9/10, 4.5/5.
A great piece of kit that does everything really well, better than the vast majority of Android competitors and the price is fantastic, as long as you buy a fabric, breathable strap for it you will love it once you’ve given it a chance.
I will definitely be buying future iterations.
After making do with my Charge 3 fitbit, which although still collecting data had stopped displaying anything on screen and finally stopped charging, I decided to get a new model and chose the Charge 6. It was easy to set up using the app on my phone, updating software etc. I like the new display, easy to see the time, and data collected. It keeps prompting me with great regularity to get up and move, which must be a good thing. Oops just done it again – apparently I have 39 steps to go to reach the magical 250 steps in an hour 🙂
I like the new strap design, a press on knob rather than the usual buckle fastening, and the end tucks into and behind the strap meaning nothing to catch it on.
The Charge 6 collects data and it is novel to now be able to see SpO2 level and more heart data. It does what I want – collect and display steps taken, and prompts exercise. Now I really must get up and do those 39 steps to keep my fitbit happy. What’s not to like?
I had a Fitbit HR previously so knew roughly what to expect. I only use it paired to a Pixel 6a, not with its standalone GPS. The Charge 6 is an improvement over the HR – better screen, easier to use, O2 measurement. One thing I find handy is that it vibrates when I have an incoming phone call which tends to catch my attention quickly than my ringtone (especially if phone is in pocket). As far as I can tell it’s reasonably accurate, though the auto exercise detection is a bit hit or miss, and sometimes it misses a night’s sleep (though still shows start/end times – maybe it’s too loose those nights). I’m still on the bundled free Premium subscription – not sure I will pay for that afterwards so will have to look at benefits.
Mainly I use my Charge 6 for looking at my sleep patterns, checking resting & peak heart-rate, walks/run distances. I don’t think it’s designed for measurement of serious exercise though, so if that’s what you’re looking for I suggest a different Fitbit model or something by Garmin etc.
I’m not expert at these devices but I can’t tell you that it measures everything well (at least consistently). You get a free subscription to the full Fitbit experience for a while then it stops. It’s not really necessary anyway. One hiccup I found is that it DOESN’T WORK OVER TATTOOS, no heart readings so I had to change arms and have it point where there’s no ink. Also you have to have YouTube premium if you want to listen to music and also not many Fitbit apps compatible. But if like me you just want to see if you’re dying and how much sleep and exercise you get, it works great. My high street bank accounts won’t allow me to use the Google wallet on this device. If that’s something you want, check see if it’s compatible first. As it’s a new device in the line I’m kinda hoping for more apps to become available but it works as is, without adding anything. Some stuff like ECG and sleep doesn’t show until you sync the app, not a biggy but I wandered why. It does show a live heart rate though which is perfect. I feel like the app could have more detail to it, it’s easy to see an overview but I’d like have more control and views over the data, seems a bit basic. Worth 5 stars as it functions as expected and has a decent battery life and consistency.
