Excelle
Very good camera, especially for the price. Clear image and works well with the App. The app is easy to use and connect to the camera. I highly recommend to buy this.
Top class security camera
I’m an elderly person that wanted a security camera for night time security use. This camera from ieGeek the SC1 pro caught my attention and I took the plunge. This security camera is absolutely top class. I turn on motion detection and alerts when asleep at night and when out. I turn these off when in my property.
It took only a few minutes to setup and a few minutes more to link with my Alexa echo show. The daylight resolution is good enough to shave by, it’s so sharp. The infrared night time resolution is in black and white and still impressively sharp. All in all if your in the market for a security camera or a monitor for baby or pet, get one. This SC1 pro is highly recommended.
Another fantastic camera!
have a few ieGeek cameras and I must say they are all reliable and never let me down. Some are over five years old and still working perfectly. A brand you can trust!
This particular model caught my attention to the fact that I can rotate the camera to record different angles remotely using the app. The app controls are very response and doesn’t lag.
The app is user friendly and only took me few seconds to add this camera to my ieGeek CCTV system network.
Image perfectly clear even in the dark, very responsive motion detection. Sound transmitted to my phone and the microphone is amazing. Cannot recommend this product enough.
What’s it like in the real world?
I have to say that I am very impressed with this camera. I’ve a few other ieGeek cameras for the exterior of my properly but wanted one for inside the house.
One thing that impressed me straight away is how the install is a lot more straightforward now than with their older models. It’s simply a case of following the instructions on their app and scanning a QR code on the camera, logging in to your WiFi and you’re good to go.
I’ve tried other manufacturers over the years but have always come back to these guys. Their app integration is very good. The speed of connection to the camera when you open the app on your phone/tablet is good. There’s not much point getting an alert and by the the time the app eventually connects, the movement has disappeared.
The image quality is very good at being 1080p – not 4K but 4K is only desirable for an outdoor cam which is scanning longer distances. Unless your living room is the size of a banqueting hall, 1080p is more than you need. That leads on to the night vision and again, it is excellent. Keep the settings set at AUTO and the camera accurately determines whether to film in day or infrared mode.
The motion sensor is sensitive which, when linked to the pan movements of the unit, produces a recording facility that keeps up with movement within the sensor area. The attached videos show what most cameras struggle with – someone walking across the monitored area transversely and then movement subsequently appearing above or below the viewing area. You’ll see that the video tracks in all four directions speedily so you’re not likely to miss anything.
Another thing I should mention is that recording relies on tracking movement – it isn’t looking for a heat signature as well. So for example, should an inanimate object fall across the area being monitored, it’ll be tracked and recorded. I mention this as it means one fantastic feature that ieGeek perhaps hasn’t realised – the camera can be used indoors but for use monitoring both indoors and outside. For example, if it is placed on a windowsill, it can be recording out through the window but can be turned round remotely through the app to monitor inside. This is a fantastic function but it is only made possible through another thing that ieGeek haven’t promoted – the camera can rotate a full 360 degrees which is something I have never come across before. You’re lucky normally to get a maximum sweep of 180 degrees.
A final positive is that this is powered via USB. That means theoretically it should be able to be powered from a memory bank. Now I haven’t tested this myself yet so cannot be 100% sure but it seems reasonable to assume that it can. That brings other uses to mind. Monitoring your caravan or another area when you’re away. It’ll need Wi-Fi to send alerts but it’ll still record to SD card if it doesn’t have connection.
There are things I’d like to see improved though. First is the phone app. It is quite clunky navigating to and thereafter downloading alert recordings. You get used to it but it’s not intuitive.
The second thing is more down to my understanding. A great function the app gives is the ability to draw on the app the areas you want to monitor so that you could exclude the floor area but actively monitor everything above a certain level. What I don’t quite understand is how this works in practice when the camera can pan a full 360 degrees.
The last thing is – please ieGeek come out with a desktop computer app and have just the one app for the different cameras you sell. I have to switch between one app for this camera and two other exterior cameras and another app for a final exterior camera.
In conclusion it’s a great wee camera and highly recommended.
Easy use, security cameras
After a week of use, I have found the security camera for me. So easy to set up thanks to the instruction booklet. The App does everything I could ask for and more from activating the night vision, viewing and deleting the captured images, adding other items of software and informing me of all the events by sending me a message on my phone. I am genuinely impressed by its performance and would highly recommend this as a good value security camera for your home.
Excellent Camera - a definite 'must purchase'!
This is my 4th ieGeek camera, the previous 3 being solar powered for external use. Given the quality and operational effectiveness of the 3 previously bought cameras, I had absolutely no concerns about buying this latest camera.
It arrived very quickly, and once unpacked, it was fully operational in minutes few. As ever with ieGeek cameras, I was not disappointed – the build quality is excellent and the quality of imagery during both day and night is crystal clear (see photos). Motion tracking works like a dream, as do the alerts – I have installed the camera in a building which is often left unoccupied, so this camera is a very cost effective method for me to immediately know if somebody is inside the building who should not be. Not only I can immediately alert the Police, but evidential imagery has been captured and uploaded to the cloud which is beyond the reach of any potential intruder.
All in all, this is another fantastic camera which operates to a far higher capability than much more expensive other brands.
As such, I highly recommend this camera alongwith the entire ieGeek brand, so much so that I have just this morning bought my 5th ieGeek camera from the Amazon seller.
Compact but powerful/reliable.
I have previously purchased several ieGeek outdoor IP Security Cameras and they all have been functioning very well with no problems, so when I decided to increase the security indoors, I had no hesitation in choosing this newly released Indoor wireless camera from the same company.
It’s compact but does everything that’s expected of a security camera. It’s easy to set up if you follow the well written and easy to understand manual (I had it up and running within 5 minutes). The pictures and videos are crystal clear even on the night vision shots. If you needed the camera to keep your eye on your pets whilst out and about, you can set it to track them and even talk to them over the intercom. It is also ideal as a baby monitor if required, where it is activated by movement as well as sound. You do need to insert a micro SD Card (not supplied) for it to work and it gives you the option to choose one of several types of subscription to the Cloud if required. I haven’t taken a subscription out yet because I’m relying on the 256Gb SD Card which I’ve inserted for now.
I did have a query about connecting to my 5GHZ network as opposed to my 2.4GHZ connection, so I sent off an email to ieGeek Customer Service Team and got a response within two hours. I found them to be very knowledgeable about their products, which I found reassuring.
I’ll leave it running for a few weeks and then consider purchasing another one so both entrances can be surveilled. All in all, if you are looking to invest in indoor security cameras, this one is certainly worthy of consideration.
ieGeek indoor 360 degree camera
We have been using this camera for a few weeks now and it is brilliant. After unboxing it and plugging it in it was added to the app in seconds. It works literally straight out of the box. I already have 3 cameras from ieGeek and this one is just as good as the others. It works on 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz, comes with a 2 meter USB C cable wall bracket and plug. The picture quality is great and it has 360 degree range. You can use an SD card or cloud storage. We just use it with the SD card that I find is sufficient.
It can be used with Alexa.
Overall a great little indoor camera.
Highly recommended.
Easy to install :)
Ease of Installation
Setting up the camera is straightforward and quick. Simply plug the camera into a power outlet and follow the instructions in the app to sync it with your WiFi network. The app setup is intuitive, even for users with little tech experience.
Image Quality
With a 5MP resolution, the ieGeek camera delivers clear and detailed image quality. Daytime recordings are sharp and colorful, while night vision is impressively effective, providing clear black-and-white images even in complete darkness. The 360 PTZ (pan, tilt, zoom) functionality offers comprehensive coverage of the area, eliminating blind spots.
Features and Performance
The camera comes equipped with several advanced features. Motion detection is accurate, and the automatic tracking function follows any movement within the field of view, ensuring nothing goes unnoticed. The two-way communication allows direct interaction via the built-in microphone and speaker, useful for talking to family members.
Recommendation
I recommend the ieGeek 5MP camera to anyone in need of an efficient and affordable indoor surveillance solution. Its advanced features and Alexa integration make it a valuable addition to any smart home.
IE GEEK 5MP HOME SECURITY CAMERA 5G 2.4GHz
I’ve just set up this camera and I’ve got to say I’m really impressed with the clarity of the images it’s outstanding, I have got this to be able to keep an eye on my dogs at home, I already have ie geek cameras outside which I’ve not had any issues with, Also already having the app on my iPhone again made it really easy to install by just adding the camera it instantly recognised the camera, you select your network and away, but as I’ve highlighted in one of my photos as with all their cameras it states put the memory card in prior to starting the camera. Some of the cameras features are 2 way talk, PTZ, automatic tracking, motion detection, I think one of the great features is it supports both 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz so it’s very easy to connect to your network. I would definitely recommend this camera.
Great security camera with fantastic video quality and great features.
It arrived in good quality packaging. Here is what you get:
– 5 megapixel pan tilt zoom camera
– Power adapter
– 2 meter long USB-C cable
– Wall mount
– Screws and wall plugs
– Warranty card
– Manual
It was very easy to setup, following the manual. In short you download the ieGeek cam app, register for an account for free and follow the prompts to add your camera.
This camera has great features. Some of which include:
– 5 MP camera with exceptional video quality
– Works both with 5Ghz and 2.4 Ghz Wifi networks
– Motion tracking (which works very well)
– Pan tilt zoom 360
– Sound detection
I particularly like the motion tracking feature which works really well. What I found unique though is the sound detection functionality which can be set to various sensitivity (see the video demo for how it works).
If the camera detects a loud sound it can go to tracking mode which rotates the camera and then moves the camera into all the viewing angles. This can be very useful in many scenarios. Baby monitoring or security for example if a burglar breaks in then the camera would react to the sound.
The only nice to have feature I would like to see in the App is a simple setting to Arm / Disarm the camera, this would be of great benefit.
The camera can record locally onto a microSD card. You can also buy a subscription to have it record to the cloud, although there is also a free tier of 6 second clips that go to the cloud once you enable that in the app.
Overall this is a great security camera that can be mounted on the ceiling using the fitting bracket. You can pretty much see your entire room with the camera being installed in the ceiling corner. It also comes with 2 year warranty.
I highly recommend it.
Great vision and fast response
Mu fourth camera from ieGeek. I needed wired one and this unit ticks all the boxes. Always highest quality vision. Easy connect to the app. Very good responsiveness. Accurate motion sensor and great night vision. Highly recommended.
I am extremely pleased with the ieGeek 5MP Indoor Home Security Camera. The video quality is outstanding, with sharp 5MP resolution that ensures every detail is clear. Setting up the camera was quick and easy, thanks to its compatibility with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi bands.
The 360 PTZ feature, combined with automatic tracking, ensures comprehensive coverage of the entire room, capturing every movement seamlessly. The night vision is remarkably effective, providing clear images even in complete darkness.
The two-way talk functionality is excellent for communicating with pets or family members, delivering clear and reliable audio. I also appreciate the flexibility of storage options, with both SD card and cloud storage available.
Integration with Alexa adds a level of convenience, allowing me to control the camera and view live feeds using simple voice commands. Overall, the ieGeek 5MP Indoor Home Security Camera is a versatile and reliable device that significantly enhances home security. Highly recommended!
Excellent home security/baby monito
My honest opinion of this ie geek indoor camera is that it exceeded my expectations, I mean for a 60 camera you don’t really expect much to be fair. However upon unboxing the first thing I noticed is that the build quality is very good. It feels solid and well made compared to a lot of other cameras I have bought in the past. In the box you get the camera, a usb cable , a compact 3 pin plug for uk use and a small instruction booklet ( although to be honest setting up the camera is easy if you download and install the ieGeek app first, just follow the onscreen instructions ).
It took about 2 minutes to set up and get the camera working and the app itself is easy to understand and use, you can change the picture quality, day/night vision , speaker volume and set the tracking function as required. I have to say the picture quality is amazing for this little camera , I have compared to a more expensive camera I have and this one looks a lot better. Sound quality is pretty good also however you sometimes hear the occasional hum from the WiFi interference although this could just be a me issue.
I added a micro sd card which just slots into the top of the lens part of the camera and have activated the constant record feature , while this is activated you can still receive notifications of any movement detected if you so wish just by activating the feature in the settings menu. All the necessary features are easy to find and enable/disable just by entering the settings.
Motion tracking is very responsive ( which again I am quite surprised at for such a budget friendly camera) it followed me around the room effortlessly and didn’t cause any lag in the recording, I also particularly like the fact that you can choose to enable or disable the led to show that the camera is working , it can be quite bright at night if left on.
IeGeek customer support is also very good, response times are pretty quick and are very helpful should you need them. I can confirm this as I recently engaged with them to ask some technical questions before I decided to make this purchase .
One thing to bear in mind is that the camera does NOT come with an sd card supplied, you don’t actually need one however as there are cloud storage plans available. I’ve had this camera constantly recording now for a few days and it is all working perfectly, as the description suggests it would make an ideal baby monitor, pet monitor and works exceptionally well to give you peace of mind as a conventional cctv camera . I would highly recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a genuine hassle free and fully functional camera for their home , garage or workplace .
ieGeek 5MP Indoor Home Security Camera
Been looking for a indoor camera to match my current IeGeek Range, and finally I have now got one, purchased yesterday at a great price & Received before 1pm Today, The camera is fantastic, it holds similar features to all its range but as time goes on, they had new features which is brilliant for the price tag, The PTZ is as quick as the movement requests, there is no lag, the picture quality and recording g features to opinion SD or Cloud is great, the camera itself is well built and quality is again great for the price tag, I would highly recommend this camera for indoors. set up time on the app took me less than 2 minutes. Can’t wait to test out the night vision but am sure this will be as good as the external camera range if not better given the additions.
